Two fantastic teams who play sexy football. Marc McNulty v Jayden Stockley. Let battle commence.

Fancy the Sky Blues to win this 4-1. Our “fluid football” should be too much

Right, thread now reopened.

Should be a good final this. Both teams play good football, so hopefully we see an open attacking game, similar to what we saw in the 2nd legs. Both teams look evenly matched, both have solid defences, both have top strikers and a good supporting cast.

I hope Coventry go up purely because that club is starving for success. But then if Exeter don't go up, will this be Tisdale's last hurrah?

Thank you for reopening.

I’m looking forward to this game and I would be very surprised if come 5pm we aren’t promoted. I respect Exeter but we are a level above

Not getting carried away. We've been poor at many stages of this season and therefore I'm not confident.

However, the more I think about it, I can't seem to think of a way Exeter will stop Maxime Biamou, McNulty and Tom Bayliss.

Ha ha, a level above? You’re a L2 club just like us, regardless of past history. We finished above you and we both one a game each.

Personally, I think this is too close to call. I’m hoping that your ‘big club’ thinking will bleed into your players’ thoughts and we’ll do you over. Pressure is on Coventry for this reason IMO.

No it's fine. No point in us turning up, we can't compete with massive Coventry and their fine record in finishing above us this season. I'm just going for a day out...

Expecting a better game from you two than the FA Cup final.
I find it really difficult to watch a game of football without wanting one of the teams to win, yesterday was one of those days when I didn't really want either to win...the only consolation was my knowledge that the fans of one club would be crying into their beer afterwards, it didn't matter to me which one...but they did manage to deliver a pretty uninspiring display.

Back to this game, I didn't see every team play last season as I couldn't make a handful of home games, but Exeter were probably the best of the teams I did see. When we played them I felt that they probably had a couple of extra gears but they didn't need to use them, on the other hand we played really well against Coventry in the home game but it would be pushing it to suggest we made them look average. This game is a bit similar to the Cup Final, I'm not too bothered who wins, I enjoy our games against Exeter and it reminds us how far we have come to be playing Coventry in a league game.

Good luck to both of them and enjoy your day out at Wembley, see the runners-up next season.

Honestly can't see how Cov's rather poor back line will cope with the likes of Stockley and Boateng. I thought Coventry were the best footballing (aka passing) side I've seen this year, and they do have a decent mid and forward line but they're a shambles at the back.

In fact tbh, the biggest surprise for me this season was not Accy winning the title but Cov letting in only 47 goals in 46 league games. A reflection of the poor quality of many forward lines in this league perhaps?

Exeter 3 Cov 1

This is a win win for me, in one scenario Exeter go up and our longest trip of the season is gone.

The other scenario Coventry go up and DH84 fucks off to another forum

Like I said, win win.

This will probably be bigged up as Stockley v McNulty, but there is so much more to both clubs.
Im hoping that the experience of last season will pull us through. We have more resilience and a bit more quality in midfield. JMT at the back is strong and assured, Sweeney and Moxey are useful going forward and either Simpson or Jay will provide a useful foil for Jayden.
Coventry are good, but young.
It might just boil down to who stays more focused.
Still, at least the atmosphere will be better than last time and whatever happens I'll be clapping the team off at the end.

Poor defence? We've conceded 5 less goals than you have this season.

When you take out our freak defeat to Yeovil, we've had the best defence in the league.

I think we are the underdogs here, which suits us.

I think Coventry have a better chance of beating us than Notts would have done but experience should not be underestimated and we have a lot of players with wembley final experience and big game experience in general.

I think our desire to win and teamwork will prove the difference.

Tell you what, take out all of the goals we conceded this season and we have the best defence ever, since football was created.

That's not the point, we literally conceded no more than 2 in any game until we played Yeovil at the end of March.

Same with us, just take out those 15 freak results where we got hammered and we’d have made the play offs.

So hard to predict a final like this but Exeter are the better team, be better from a selfish point of view if Exeter went up too.

Not really fussed about who’s likely going to be a bigger threat next season, both will be up there again.

I wouldn't say you have a poor defence, but you've definitely become more porous as the season has gone on. You conceded 17 goals and kept 10 clean sheets in your first 23 games. But in the 2nd half, you've conceded 30 and only kept 6 clean sheets. In your last 12 games, you managed 3 clean sheets, but they were all against poor sides.

You might have a strong defence overall, but it's been trending in the wrong direction for a while now, freak result or no freak result.

That’s a decent defensive record for sure. But you still conceded 6 against Yeovil, which shows some frailty. You also let in 4 at home to Lincoln soon afterwards.

I think you’re a good team and you have some excellent young players, plus a class striker. I do think that we’re pretty evenly matched which is clear due to the points we both secured. It will be a close game and may well go to extra time. Can’t believe it’s still over a week away!

We've sacrificed our good defence to allow our forwards more freedom. McNulty and Biamou have become one of the best partnerships in the league.

No reason why Exeter can't win this, based on our two games with Cov.

Fancy us for this one. Our strongest central midfield is finally now playing together (Harley and Boateng), Pym for me is the best keeper in League 2, Stockley up top is unstoppable at this level, and our defence is very decent these days. We also have some real pace out wide if needed which I suspect will start on the bench and see how things go first half. If we can play like we did against Lincoln we should win this. We can be inconsistent mind, and did not really turn up against Blackpool at last year's final. Should be a cracker UTC
