to get the ball rolling i propose markus anfang.
he began his coaching career from the bottom up with some lowly side called sc kapellen-erft. he led the team to success and bayern leverkusen swooped to make him their academy coach where he spent just over three years culminating in winning the u-17 german title. after winning the title he left to return to senior football as manager of third division side holstein kiel - which in his first season he led to their first promotion to the second tier in over 30 years - in this the follow season they are one game away from reaching the top flight albeit they trail 3-1 to Wolfsburg but they are at home for the second leg. back in april he agreed to take over as coach of koln at the end of the season - with koln having been relegated it could well be holstein kiel are in the bundesliga next season minus anfang which would be an odd occurrence. apparently anfang is a cologne boy and is up for the challenge of turning them around. for a football coach/manager he's had a pretty good start - be interesting to see how he does in the next couple of years.
any other suggestions welcome
