Excellent win.

Akinde getting sent off for diving was almost as awesome as the Robbie Evans goal.

I don't understand the excitement/pleasure from opposition fans about Akinde failing, if I'm honest.

I'd love it if he celebrated infront of them whenever he scores (not that it'll be next week now). Really don't understand it.

Barnet's one-man team wheels coming off. Just wait until Grimsby ruffle their net next week. :fl:

Beaten by the better team today. Lifeless passionless display all but puts our season to bed.

Um what? Nothing to do with him being Akinde. The joy came from witnessing an opposition player trying to cheat his way to a goal, failing and being punished for it. You don't understand why that's a fun thing to happen?

To be fair to Barnet, they were just as threatening going forwards after he got sent off.

One of our hardest league games left of this campaign, on paper, so to win it is quite pleasing.

Keeps us in the hunt, sort of.

You're just one of many, wasn't directed right at you. He's accused of cheating, diving, falling easily every week yet the shit he puts up with from defenders is amazing. He's a big strong lad and it takes a lot to get him down, so you can imagine what he puts up with from high balls, set pieces etc. Seems the referees can't though, a yellow for persistent fouling when every Barnet fan knows what goes unpunished against him every week...

Yeah because we are bang in form..... :(

Sigh. I'm not saying the Worst Grimsby Side Garry Hill Has Ever Seen At Blundell Park are actually going to get a result. I'm saying your fans will hopefully waggle the net like our yoof did and get the Barnet lot angry again.

Still a telling stat that Bottom of the table Telford have scored more than Bristol Rovers. Had they got a 20 goal a season striker they would be well clear.

Same could be said of us and Macc all three of us haven't conceded many and Arguably Barnet are there is because of Akinde

Leave off. He loves the physical confrontation from CB's and gives as good as he gets.

Well he's that style of player, he's hardly going to shy away from them is he? I think his goal record proves he's successful when defenders try to dominate him. But my point is that he shouldn't have to give as good as he gets, as what he gets is far beyond what should be allowed by any competent referee.

The amount of times we've taken the lead only to sit back and concede an inevitable equaliser this season has been so frustrating, so it was nice to actually hold out today. Hopefully we're starting to turn the corner now.

Great three points, great match and good performance today. Dover aren't chumps, now if someone can convince our fans of that I'll put £3 behind the bar at the Three Pigeons for you next time you're up here.

A coach containing 20 Dover fans arrived 80 minutes in today after breaking down on the way up. 606 have favourited my tweet about that so hopefully your story will be heard on that showpiece rent-a-pundit show. You're a good bunch and maybe it's the six points talking but I've got a soft spot for you lot considering your similar ascent up the leagues without having crowds go up as a result. The crowd and atmosphere today were embarrassing and I assure you it's not normally that bad. Honest.

Four good goals out of five. Our second wasn't exactly goal of the season but was the best worked, twisting past men on the line from the corner flag to the far post and Dover never got rid of it. We applauded first Dover goal, second was decent too but at that point it was clear they're a tidy side too and would push us until the end. The final 15 were quite tense and we were made for work for our money. Worth mentioning the winner too: Jackson's been a benchwarmer all season and scored within a couple of minutes by cleverly intercepting his man, turning and dashing into the side of the area before releasing a deft chip. Job jobbed.

The beauty of a tight league is that this win has mattered a lot for us and hopefully it's now clearer that we are currently in good stead to stay in this until the season end. We should be buzzing! I am anyway!

We're such a shit little club - every time there's a reasonable crowd (4.5K today), we throw in a thunderturd of a "performance".

Be surprised if I summoned the motivation to go more than once or twice now for the rest of the season. Back to 15th-18th place next season as well for well-documented reasons.
CrazyImp, I genuinely feel your pain, your players are taking the piss out of your club. The Shaymen are the new model for the Conference, part time players, playing for the shirt. Get rid of the useless bastards and get some players in who are proud to represent your club.

Well we fucking fucked that up.

Same shit served up as the past 3 matches. We weren't great first half but probably edged it second half apart from scoring and one off the line we were rarely a threat. Got to start with two up top, if anyway was likely to go onto win it was going to be Southport who were unlucky to not get a penalty in the last minute for handball. Not good enough and we have got to improve if we want to stay where we are.

Disappointing not to win, but it's an away point and every point is useful.

Really tightens it all up, going to be an interesting March.

Part of me hopes both of us are really closer to barnet by the time we meet. What a game that could be

You sound like us at the moment Deuce! Poor performances but we have picked up some wins.

We just need Rovers to start doing the same!

You definitely will be, you could even be above us, especially as you are paying in 10 days when we don't have a game.

Yep off next week so time to practice something new in training, i myself would like to see the return of starting two up top.

We should of started with two up top today and gone for it, no offense to Southport but they are shit and were there for the taking if we performed to our standards.

They had fight in them though and i think they still have a good chance of staying up.

Just been read out, albeit in a very garbled way, by Savage. Dover fans, that was for you.

Macclesfield blew a great chance today and though Rovers are going strong I expect them to falter. If they don't then fair play, to the victor belong the spoils! Whatever happens over the next couple of months it's going to be bloody exciting!

Disappointing to lose at a team down in the lower reaches of the table but from the sounds of it, we gave it a good go even after the sending off, which is all you can ask.

Losing Akinde for the Grimsby game is a disaster as we are going to have to win that game to stay above Bristol Rovers, who have an extra game this month.

4 point gap plus goal difference superiority is still the place everyone would like to be in but we do need to end this little run of away defeats sharpish.

We also need Bristol Rovers to slip up again, as they have once again become the team most likely to catch us thanks to Southport's equaliser.

Huge game next week, just hope we can sneak a win to keep things ticking over.

Deuce - I was certain you would win today to be fair (even lumped a load on you to get a free bet!).

I fully expect Rovers to get 6 points in the next 10 days so we both need to perform over the next month before that big game.

Missed the first half hour but from what I saw, second half especially, we were well worth a point and could have nicked all 3. The ref was a strange one and had weird decisions against both teams, but you expect that down here now. The murderers goal looked like it could have been offside, obviously need to see a replay of that though. Players got a well deserved big round of applause at the end as there was no lack off effort at all. 2 weeks off now for a rest then Lincoln away who look very beatable right now, onwards and upwards!

We played shit, got some luck and won. Huge result as it opens up a five point gap between us and the bottom four.

I'd feel robbed if I were a Welling fan, they deserved at least a draw. Dominic Vose ran the show but was substituted for some unknown reason. Time and time again we just allowed him space and time with the ball and if it weren't for Phil Smith we'd have been 3 down early on.

Shortlisted managers will be interviewed this week. Not sure how long that will take but would like one in place soon. Won't get away playing like that too many times this season.
