Great result, completely deserved. Second half was the best I've seen us play in a long time.
Even first half, Wrexham were decent and had 2 great chances (a sitter of a header, and an unreal save from Cole). Second half was a different story, we created chances and the goal was only a matter of time.
Very happy with that.

Torquay defended well and we couldn't test the keeper much at all. Not the worst 0-0, but was really a game we should have won comfortably.
Good news is that all our young loaners look good, and new striker Effiong is a beast.

Knew that was coming. Said so earlier.

Doesn't help we've lost Guttridge, Howell and Raymond, all CM options, this week.

Then Whiteley cost us with his reaction.

But hey ho. Guiseley were professional and deserved it. Michael Rankine's weight gain was the highlight of my day.
We are just as likely to lose our ten match home unbeaten run against Ferriby next week.
Rankine keeps devouring defenders so he'll never lose it.

Really didnt see that coming when I left Aldershot this morning but as you say we fully deserved the win. Kellerman was my man of the match but our midfield 3 controlled the game apart from the first 25/30 minutes.

Well... not what I'd hoped for at half time but definitely what I hoped for at 2:55, so I'll take it. Could have been six or seven just at half time, we were fabulous and they were just tosh. Second half we eased off and they got a rocket, but still didn't do a lot outside the goals. Happy days.

I probably didn't give you enough credit actually. I'm quite annoyed at the moment as you can imagine. But yes, you were a good little outfit. So much more nous about you than at the beginning of the season. Your wide man Preston had our young full back loanee on toast. Asamoah was clever from the wide areas also. I did think you looked a bit shaky at the back but unfortunately the one player who has that trickery to open up defences was stupidly (and rightly) sent off.

From our perspective, I know we were in trouble when i saw the team with no Guttridge, Howell or Raymond today. Starting an important game with 4 young loanees was always going to be an ask.

Bromley Tuesday is going to be a very hard but important game. For the rest time this season, we have no Guttridge or Whiteley to play in the hole. Our team is going to be makeshift and we'll likely to be tired after playing with 10 men today for 80 minutes. If ever we need to scrap a game out, it'll be that one. Lose and any title hopes are gone really.

Aldershot were the best team I've seen all season, great football. Thought we played well especially first half but they deserved to beat us because they took the chances we didn't. According to my records, Scott Rendell has now scored 500 times against us for about 25 different clubs. Every fucking time. But we should have been 2 nil up by then, the save was quite amazing to be honest as the keeper was going the wrong way and he stuck a hand back the opposite way and tipped it round the post.

You're correct about us looking iffy at the back right now. Due to injuries we have recently being playing a left back and center mid as our center back pairing. That said we have been getting results so can't grumble.
Disappointing to lose Kevan Hurst to injury on Tuesday evening as he was really starting to show what a great player he will be for us.

Quite possibly the worst 0-0 in history. Dire. The pitch is a complete mess and doesn't help at all. Southport were timewasting from the first minute, aided by having a long throw specialist, who took forever to run from each side of the pitch whenever they got a throw in our half. Such a bad game.

They were at it against us the other week - a shocking team, and that seems to be their only way of grinding out results.

A new one on me today: Brett Williams saw his number go up, heard his name announced, was pointed in the direction of the bench by the Barrow defenders, but still waited for the ref to confront him before trundling off. Achieved nothing.

Agree with above.

Southport were by far the most limited team I've seen since we got promoted 5 years ago. Offered nothing except time wasting, long throws and hoofing long balls straight through to our keeper. Came for a 0-0 and got it.

Neither us or them will stay up on that showing.

Any slight bullishness that might have reappeared a little bit after a decent run has gone up in flames today.

Well done on winning the title Lincoln, hopefully you go on and win the treble. Best team in the league. Too good AND clever for us, Dagenham or Tranmere.

I notice our players were talking about the North Ferriby game straight after beating Burnley. amazing!

I wouldn't write anyone off just yet but it's Lincoln's to lose, without a doubt.

Very respectful and good of you to say, no matter what has transpired previously. It's not over but as long as we ensure we win our home games, we should be ok.

Bloody hell man, you're 4 points off top. Get a grip, it's far from over. Lincoln win it when (if) they win it and not a second before.

Tranmere won't be giving up I can assure you of that. Hey, Lincoln may still do it and fair play if they do, but nobody in the top 4 should just hand it to them.

Still a long way to go and it may be a very over used cliche but anyone can still win it yet. Agreed about our home games, if we can win the majority of the remaining 7, we have a good chance, still got some very tough games, Daggers and FGR at SB and Aldershot and Gateshead away off the top of my head.

Worst performance I've seen from us in the 22 years I've been supporting the club. Fuming.

Only thing I'll add is well done Maidstone, who were excellent on the day. Friendly club, all the best for the rest of the season.

The whole North Ferriby thing was probably just for show and to fuel Cowley's management speak about the "strong work ethic, professionalism and honesty of the gwoop. We go again"

Good performance and a deserved victory for us today, albeit we missed a hatful of chances again. Since we switched to 442 with two wide men we have looked convincing, and I think losing Wallace to injury might actually benefit us in the long run: our patchy form since Christmas largely resulted from trying to shoehorn him into the midfield.

In our current form and with the strength of our squad I think we will push Lincoln for a while yet, although they are clear favourites.

Eastleigh lacked quality and it was unsporting of Allen to suggest we only won because of a Portsmouth loanee: we signed Ben Tollitt permanently three months ago.

We are going to hammer someone one of these days, Norwood yet again was clear through twice with only the keeper to beat and messed up. Cook and Maynard missed sitters, Iheikwe should of done better with his free header and McNulty hit the crossbar. Both Dunn and Norwood were fouled by the last man unyet the ref didn't carry out the full letter of the law.
Ben Tollitt was outstanding, not sure how we managed to nick him off Pompey and its always nice to beat an Allen team.

Just back. Well beaten, Gateshead got at us straight out of the gate and we didn't cope at all. Two nil was thoroughly deserved and we hadn't got going at all. Lightweight in midfield with Sinclair out.
Some glimmer of hope when we scraped a goal back but not long until the lead was restored with a belter from distance. Hit the post a couple of times but even with that didn't look like getting back into it.

Good performance from us today, which just about keeps us on the coat tails of the top four, looking forward to my trip up to York on Tuesday, now I'm not one of the forest green knockers on here, I go there every season and have a couple of pals who follow them every away game, but wot the fuck has Cooper done with that team especially the defence, solid when I was there in August, but paper thin now, unreal good away support yesterday according to a few of the lads , Lincoln beware you have still got to have your bad spell

Its far from over although its certainly lincolns to lose, 2 draws in this division make a massive difference especially if your opponants all win.

Ours and lincolns sheer number of games could count against us, we have a potential 17 games in 69 days lincoln a whopping 19 if you include the teams trophy and fa cup committments.

Fgr and dg have only 14 this could make a massive difference

Could do, but that would only really make a big difference if we were ahead of Lincoln. Points on the board are often better then games in hand, but us and Dagenham have neither in our favour compared to Lincoln.

We've got a good size squad, particularly in the forward and midfield positions, so I'm not too worried about the number of games at this stage. Defence we only really have Howe, Long and McCombe as backup so a little short. However, with the cup money we should be able to bring in loan reinforcements (or buy from this level or below) if needed.
