Poor showing by Darlo today, never turned up 2nd half. On a positive note I'm confident we won't be relegated this season

Them are the rumours. When he came over to the fans after the game it seemed very much a 'farewell'. And comments he made after the game were hardly reassuring. I don't blame him coz he's far too good for this division and would wish him the best as he's never given less than 100% on the pitch and appears to do a lot of community engagement stuff off the pitch. However he's the only player I would really be bothered about losing since we dropped into non-league.

Not sure where he'll go. He's at County in the first place coz he didn't want to go full time at Fylde, so I'm guessing it must be a club in Conf Nat or FL rather than a direct rival. If it's fucking Salford though I think I'll cry.

I wasn't there but haven't seen that anywhere else - what made it feel like that?

If there was some kind of deal done then he wouldn't have played today and risked injury.

Very nicely. Unbeaten in seven, six of which we've won. Only conceded one in the last six league games, and that was some absurd goal from a missed back pass. Second in the away league table. All the flaws that dogged us early in the season look to have been ironed out. I wouldn't say it's free flowing football (no one at this level bar perhaps Fylde really is) but Gannon has built an effective unit that can dominate a game long enough to create and convert chances and then defend leads comfortably. You just need to look at how Alty have fared since Young's departure to see what a decent job he's done cleaning up the utter chaos that was left.

Unfortunately however it looks like we're going to lose Danny Lloyd imminently. If we were going to keep him until the end of the season I'd be very confident of finishing in the play offs. As it is it will depend on who we manage to get in to replace him as he really is our main goal threat and creative force. Gary Stopforth is also off at the end of Jan to Australia. He'll be tough to replace too.

Where;s Stopforth off to? A league team? that league is about NLN standard

I dunno. He spent quite a long time shaking hands and talking to fans. And it all seemed a bit more sentimental than celebratory. Maybe I'm just reading into it.

I doubt a deal has been done but clubs may well have been in touch and we may have made it clear we won't stand in the way. His comments post-game basically said so. Anyway, if we sell it won't be coz we need the money. It'll be coz there's no point in hanging onto a player who's head has been turned by a 'dream' move to an FL club or whatever. In which case it's up to the player whether he wants to risk injury and he's hardly the sort of player who is going to sit out a game.

I watched a bit of Melbourne Victory when I lived in Australia and thought it was more League 1 level.

No he will be going to a regional league and get a pretty penny for it I should imagine.

No idea. But I think it's full time. We've known since we signed him that he was off in January.

Be a huge blow to lose him but if we strengthen across the forward line with say three players of decent quality then fingers crossed we could still make the playoffs.

Last time we got promoted we lost our top goalscorer in January and our best player in March.

No it will be part-time AnimoEtFide - I shared a dorm for a week or so with Jordan Connerton when he did a season out in Oz and Stopforth will be on a similar kind of deal playing in a similar kind of regional league.

It makes me laugh how yellowboard goes on about what a fantastic opportunity it is when literally any of our players could go and do it. Connor Hancock did it recently as well.

OK the A League is a bit above NLN but not much League 2 at best. The next level Aussie national Premier State leagues will be no better than the NLN but if the money and the surf and barbies make it worthwhile then hell yeah

I really liked Lloyd when he was at Fylde, crazy to think he was more often than not a substitute. I'd be very surprised if he went full time as that's one of the reasons he left us because he had a well paid job

Hard fought 1 nil win at Alty to stop an awful run of defeats for us. Squad is almost back to normal fitness, we had 7 injured a few weeks ago. Craig Reid left however and re-signed for Newport County (came on as a sub for them yesterday). Very surprising move, he's looked a lot sharper in recent weeks and lost a lot of weight but frankly very little goal threat still.

Stockport dealt with us without getting out of 2nd gear. The loss of Gregg smith has left us with no threat whatsoever so we didn't even have a striker on until fairhurst came on and as usual, did nothing. Their defence dealt with all the aimless punts we sent forward and Danny Lloyd was a threat up top and he got both goals. Disappointing goals to concede both on the break and the keeper should've saved the first. Josh Robinson Also got sent off for two cases of dissent. Stockport will be in the race to get playoffs and we will end up about 14th with no chance to catch the top ten

Gainsborough haven't won since October 29th.

Honestly thinking they should have stuck with that lazy fatty Steve Housham now.

Halifax beat Chorley 2-1. Good result for them and us
Good luck to you guys in the national league next season then. Miles the best team in this league though we wouldn't be far behind if our manager didn't take months to understand Denton isn't good enough. Judging by the game against you early in the season anyway.

Finally, Billy big bollox changed it up. Never thought I'd see wing backs say the shay but we saw them tonight and to a good effect. We probably shaded the first half and the second but we definitely got away with the win due to some incompetent refereeing. Chorley had a goal wrongly disallowed in the first half, a red card should have been given to us and many decisions went against them. Fair play to our team though, showed the passion and determination that's been missing in the last couple of months, more of the same please!!!

Removing Denton from the side had the effect of inserting an enema to a blocked up arse, only instead of shit, all the football came flooding out. While we wait to see if Billy No Mates has learned his lesson, I'll leave you with that poetic image. :bdick:

I'll give credit to Heath for last night's performance - for once he actually got us playing some superb stuff, though it's no coincidence that he manages to do it the one time he drops Denton.

Onto Tamworth with their plastic pitch next. Mind you, the last time we played on a plastic pitch was Harrogate in the FA Cup which saw Denton benched, so hopefully we'll see a repeat of that.

Heath is talking about playing 3-5-2 as though it's rocket science. It probably is to him, besides he should be playing 3 up front: Simmons, Peniket and Morgan. :bdick:

Simmons still doing ok?
Sadly not. Clueless Heath has frozen him out of the team. Plays well when he does play mind. Looks like you've got yourselves a decent player for the future.

Denton is first name on Heaths teamsheet, always has been, always will be. When he thinks no one is looking he'll sneak him back into the team. :dk:

Darlo have signed striker Lewis Walker from Derby County on an initial 28 day loan, 18 yrs old in their U23 squad, he's also played for Ilkeston before Derby. Son of Des Walker no less, I hope Des comes along and brings his boots, he might get a game in defence.

Also signed another keeper called Ed Wilczynski who has been at a few clubs like Fylde and Trafford in the past

Derby have also loaned Luke Thomas to Gloucester city so him and Walker could end up playing against each other tomorrow

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
not everyone playing today but some biggie games and its a weekend for the basement battle.

AFC Telford United v Curzon Ashton
Altrincham v Gainsborough Trinity
Boston United v Chorley
Darlington v Gloucester City
Harrogate Town v Bradford Park Avenue
Tamworth v FC Halifax Town
Worcester City v FC United of Manchester

Game of the day is between the in dire dire form Alty and in dire dire form Gainsborough............never can buy a win at the moment so will be interesting to see if either can end their horrific form vs the one club they have a chance to end it against.

With BPA's improved form it makes that group above 3rd bottom worry so afew playing, we have Telford and its a game we really need to get something from. have a chance but now we lost Morgan we're back to that 'missing jigsaw peice' it means we are so so now.

Town have signed Ruben Jerome from Southport. The perennially absent jordan robertson has been told to get to feck.

The question on every man and dog in Harrogate lips is will the carrot of being given a 'pro' next season continue to motivate a group who had previpusly realised the calibre of manager they were dealing with and we're playing accordingly.
