Calling all Stockport fans.

This season we recruited a Ceo called Mark Maguire on a reputed salary of £40-£65k a year. I think his remit is to to increase our playing budget. He's already made one massive fuck-up in extending Jon Mccarthy's contract til the end of 2019, when I'm afraid Jon is way out of his depth and could still take us down. He has worked at Stockport and Hull City previously. What do you think of him. He seems a bit of a dud to me.

Worst protest ever! Hahaha.

What are your thoughts on the future? Can't say I'm all that inspired by the prospect of Doughty/Lawton. Unpopular as it may be, I actually think that Heathcote would be a better option if he wants it. I assume he's properly recharged his batteries having been away for a few years. And considering the level we'll be playing at, he's probably as well placed as anyone to inspire a promotion push with very limited finances.

I've thought all along that Doughty was a disastrous appointment, on the lines of Tolson last year.

Yesterday's performance was very uninspiring. The team hasn't improved much in the 3 months since I last saw them. No lack of effort from all concerned, but apart from the loanee Newby, there was no spark at all.

Alty could and probably should have won, with the chances they had in the second half, and some might take encouragement from that. However, this was (by some distance) the two worst teams in the division, so one must take that into account.

I'm no expert on the off-the-field stuff, but I believe he is viewed as shouldering a lot of responsibility for us going into administration in 2008 and the subsequent years of shit ever since. As CEO when we were owned by the Trust he is believed to have consistently intentionally or recklessly made misrepresentations to the Trust board in order to cover up the dire financial situation the club was in, with the result that no action was taken until it was too late. However the Trust board was comprised of people who seemingly didnt know or have experience of running a football club so may be guilty of being too easily misled and not effectively overseeing the club board and CEO.

There are of course two sides to every story but the above is as i understand the general consensus on that period. So yeah, he's a top fella.

What's the opposite of having that new "manager effect "?

Whatever it is it's what Trinity are going through now, also signed 5 players 2 weeks ago which was the last desperate attempt to throw the bus.

Never expected a win yesterday, great result on the road. Probably too much to do to make the play offs still but usual thing applies, what could we be achieving if we actually played in our own City.

Had too much on so didn't go yesterday but have seen the few videos doing the rounds of the Halifax **** squad. Some 14 year old kiddy in a Burberry cap bouncing about with his mates and some retard punching the supporters coach. Special.

You get this shit with REAL football clubs, unfortunately as any of the REAL club fans will vouch for. If they won't, they're lying. :bdick:

Absolutely gutting to draw that yesterday.

We were by far the best team, and Fylde could not get near us. McQuilkin & Croasdale's work ethic is outstanding and they dominated the midfield from pretty much start to finish. They won't be playing at this level next year regardless of where we are. We limited Fylde to very few chances until, again, we gift them a goal to bring them back into it. 3 stupid goals we have let in defensively over a matter of weeks and it will prove to be the difference between winning the league and not winning it.

Officiating was piss poor, counted atleast 5 times in the game where the linesman didn't seem confident in his ability to give a decision, body language of umming and arring.

Shot ourselves in the foot with our substitutions, Carter - not match fit gets chucked straight in and being the liability which he is, gets sent off. He should be the first to go in the summer, dreadful player. Bringing on Ty confirmed the message of negativity from Eustace and it completely upset our rhythm.

In my opinion, we are the best footballing side in the league, but we lack the experience and nous to grind out results. A new striker is in tomorrow if rumours are to be true - it's only 4 months too late.

As for Finlay, alledged racist abuse to provoke a reaction from Waite, so it is suggested. Both deserved to go for the reaction but interesting to see where that ends up. As for the behaviour from a few fans and the playing staff at the end of the game - you can't buy class.

On the one hand we can consider ourselves lucky to get away with a point yesterday given that Salford had the better of us for most of the first half and the first 20 or so minutes of the second half. On the other hand the fact that when Salford got their penalty we seemed to have weathered the storm and we're getting back on top, and had just missed two gilt-edged chances to make it 2-0, it feels like two points dropped.

Starting Josh Amis in right midfield was one of those moments of madness Gannon is inclined to from time to time, akin to when he started Anthony Elding on the left wing against Mansfield away many years ago and we got absolutely humped. I can only assume he wanted Minihan at right back because he didn't trust Ross against their impressive wingers, but didn't want to start Felix on the right wing because he tends to be more effective coming off the bench.

If we can get a point against Fylde on Tuesday, or if we lose and other results go our way, and we end up only a point or two off the play off places then with our relatively easy run in we will be in with a very good shout of finishing in the play offs. I assume this is what Gannon means when he mentions us being 'ahead of schedule' in interviews.

Doubt we've heard the last of this Finley and Waite incident if it is true he told Waite to "go back to your own country" I hope the FA ban him for a long time.

Allegedly but it sounds like your fans have already made your minds up on the incident despite being miles away from it.

We under performed first half, dominated second half. That's the difference this season, even when teams are at the best against us they still rarely beat us and as for the "you can't buy class" comment. Get a grip of yourself. As if we're not going to celebrate after a 97th minute equaliser

They made their minds up from it after our commentator spoke to the club about it, wasn't just a fan overheard it. So it does have a fair amount of potential to be true.

Well we'll have to see what happens with that then. If he has said it then obviously he should be banned. I sit about 4 rows back and couldn't hear what any player said on the pitch. Has the lad come out and said that's what Finley said?

Dominated second half? We were in cruise control and you couldn't muster a chance until we gifted you the goal. Not a rare commodity recently which makes our recent run away form home all the more frustrating.

Class:
Your fans in our away end, threatening people in-front of kids, your very own players directly coming over to us after the game celebrating when emotions are running high, potential case of racism.

My standards may be different to yours.

Don't worry Clem......they are a 'proper' club. Proper Bin Pot club.
They get a hard on the dads and lads Council shay brigade, if you bring a coach load.

Grown man pushing over a 7 year old son of one of our lot on the way out of the ground earlier this season. Unfortunately for that gobshite the lads dad is a local at the boxing club and dropped the coward. Bunch of skinny hood rats and fat, not connected a punch in 30 years, soon to be heart attacks in their 50s. Reet proper joke of a nothing club.

Haha Binpot alert.

You are not even a proper club and you have this smear of human excrement at home and away games of Halifax 2008. You must be so proud as their dad.
Only game I have been to be it top flight, League One or Non League where I have seen a grown man push a kid over cos he was happy at winning at your two sided ground. Proper Binpot. Binpot town, even bigger binpot joke of a club feeding off its hard-up tax players just to exist. Infected with Binpot. You know it as well.

Was a good town victory against Chorley yesterday. yet another goal for our centreback turned all round forward star Simon Ainge.
All a bit too late tho for the play offs - shame really as last couple of homes gains against Fylde and Chorley we have more than matched them. 4 points dropped against alty and a embarrassing home defeat against Trinity and we would be right in the mix.

Just in case your planning it on Tuesday HG, keep an eye on stalybridge twitter most of Tuesday as i'd be doubtful it will go ahead.....to be fair i am very doubtful Curzon Vs FCUM will go ahead on monday and we have a vastly better pitch.

Rain most of Saturday, extremely heavy rain for large parts of today, only just starting to ease up and rain spells most of monday.

If our game is off on Monday, i think will be doubts for Salford, altrincham and especially Stalybridge games.

Cheers Big Dave. Yeah is a bit of a.pudding isn't it, especially with that pennine rain shadow your neck of the woods. That said be nice to get the game on once the evenings get lighter.

Pitch inspection this afternoon for Curzon vs FCUM struggling to see this on as the rain earlier was constant downpour, but it has a slight chance due to rain stopping now most of day and it being a good pitch.

Alty and Salford may have a chance as dry tomorrow....staly will depend on that pitch

It was very low-key, but there appears to have been a ripple effect, if you read our forum.

Would be a tricky one. Do you stick and hope the size of the club relative to the division next year means you are challenging, or protest. The risk being that the club then becomes a drama off the field and impacts a possibility of a clean bounce back up.

We host Boston tonight at the Impact. Victory will pretty much secure safety as I cant see Worcester and Gainsborough getting 10 points each.

However Boston are the absolute definition of a bogey side for us. Single goal defeats in our last 5 meetings and we have been robbed on both of our last two visits to York Street. Hopefully we can finally pick up a win tonight with our pretty decent home record of 11 unbeaten in all competitions. Quietly confident ahead of a league game for the first time since September!

Stalybridge have another game postponed

To be fair to them today, game would be off even with a good pitch, our area took a hammering yesterday.

A shame as it is dry all day today

I'd guessed that but at some point they are gonna run out of days for fixtures.

Also notice that Nuneaton have not only sold Ironside to us they have lost Jordan Nicholson as well. He's been recalled by Posh. Late contender for relegation?
