What's the story with Chorley? Averaging a gate if 230 a decade ago (apparently), now getting decent Conference figures.
Good manager in Matt Jansen the former Blackburn player - bit of a sleeping Giant in Northern non-league terms - just been crap for a good few years

Were you at the Shay Steve? I listened to the live match comm on the Halifax page but sound quality was terrible so had to do with Twitter instead.

Should have used BBC Lancs, fool. Made the mistake of using Halifax's commentary v Salford, was like they were underwater.

A lot of boycotting Rovers fans have adopted Chorley as their team in recent years, along with them doing well that's swelled the attendances a fair bit.

I was indeed, i went to the semi last week too. Good atmosphere but not much quality on the pitch sadly. Glad to see Halifax back up in the national. A big rebuilding job to do to bridge the gap in quality though. From the two games I've seen I'd only keep Brown, he was decent in both games.

In my defence your honour, I would like to state that I'm not that smart and I'm simply incapable of coming up with such a idea :ffs:

But tbf, it's not a good idea to rate sides playing in promotion play offs, for the obvious reason that so much is at stake. I try to watch all the play offs on the box, and I've often made the mistake of thinking that the winners will struggle to make the step up and they'll probably drop down back again the following year, only to discover that I was too hasty in dismissing them so early.

In GuiseleySteve's defence - we've been "functional" all season. With McManus back, our back 4 will be fine. Would think we'd need 4 or 5 new in front of them.

I see Alty have signed John Johnston from Salford. That is a superb signing for Step 3. If you make a number of other signings of that ilk and you will be bouncing back. Great player and a lovely lad.

Does that say more about the calibre of player Salford are looking to sign?

That's very true. What disappointed me was the obvious quality of the two wide players - Charles & kosylow? Quality that instantly vanished when delivering the final ball be that a cross or a shot. I don't know anything about them to be fair. It may have been out of character due to the pressure or maybe they're young kids learning their trade?

Congratulations to Halifax on their Play off Final victory today, but immensely proud of all the Chorley team and the travelling support today, it was immense, we played our part in a close run match. We go again next season, we will be better and stronger.

Well done to halifax today. A great second half to the season and you held your nerve twice against Salford and Chorley. Big respect for the attendance too, fantastic number for this level of football.

Good luck in the league above hope to meet you up there some day soon.

Very tight and could have gone either way. Low on quality but high on grit and determination.

Apologies for the minority of idiots - Chorley players deserved their standing ovation as they came off the pitch.
