They seem a bit of a crafty bet for next season do Brackley. Should really have nabbed a top 5 place last year, but having to shove lots of games into last period of season. Now adding to that team players who done it here before.

Great signing that. Love Dis from his younger days with us. I'll probably come down to a few games next season when we aren't playing. Think we are playing you in July but I'll be away for it!

Oh thats a shame mate. Great! All the best to the stags for next season too. Looks like Evans is building a very useful squad indeed. Could be good times ahead for a few East Midlands next year!

A dozen sides other than Salford should be playing race for the play-offs. If Salford (RIP the Ammies) are not champions then we should all write to the producers of Class of 92 to demand a refund on our license fees.

Another huge blow for us that one.

we've got now a very strong defence, but attack options have been decimated at presnet losing hall and warburton.....in fairness i always expected us to lose Hall.......that he's gone to Spennymoor suggests they are certainly splashing the cash was a few sides were after him (why i expected him to go)

Flanagan is going to have another task of proving he's the best manager at this level by having to re-build some big gaps yet again this season.

Minsterman, forget about Nicky Wroe and start preparing yourself for the worst season of football in your life. Yeah, sure you'll joke it can't be any worse than the shit you've had to watch in last few years, well believe me, it can and it is. Even the top teams are shite. This league is all about getting out of it and the best way to do that is to forget about football and get a side in that can win ugly, week in week out, and get the points no matter what. The first thing you'll notice is the drop in intensity. There will be long periods in each game where nothing seems to be happening. You'll notice that neither side is able to string 2 passes together. Kidderminster will talk all season about how they're the best footballing side in the league-let them get on with it, they'll still be there season after next. If your fans start complaining about the poor fare on offer and chanting for the manager to be sacked, you'll know he's on the right track. We want one of our real Yorkshire derbies back, so good luck and see you in 2018. :bdick:

I mean we were the best side to watch this year and it got us to second in the division, but I agree sometimes you need to play ugly to win and hopefully Eustace will have learnt that.

But even though we didn't go up I haven't enjoyed watching football like I did this season for a long time.

Believe me it can be worse than the couple of season under McNamara.
Strangely looking forward to it,got a good manager and if can keep the team he built from xmas will be ok.

Looking forward to the York game, but couldn't you still get a reprieve? As things look dim from the Leyton Orient end.

I couldn't disagree more ... quality of football at Brackley was the best I've ever seen there last year. Yep there are some dire games sometimes, but that's true at all levels of football. We deservedly beat Gillingham in the cup (1st div), and held our own vs Blackpool (promoted from div 2) - shows players at this level are no mugs. The standard of Conf North has mushroomed in the 5 years we've been in it - and regardless of the B2TF's disdain I thought Kiddy were an excellent team. Maybe I'm easily pleased down here in the mickey mouse / tinpot arse end of nowhere, not being able to experience the joys of post-industrial ex-mill towns of Yorkshire ...

Maybe you are- The Shay itself is a beautiful stadium and is indeed one of the joys of our "post industrial ex-mill town" and will soon be hosting the football it was designed for. We're very proud of our heritage too, much of which is actually pre-industrial: the 18th century Piece Hall for example, paid for and built by local wool merchants to display and sell their home produced cloths (called "pieces"- get it?), and rated by some experts the finest "Roman style" municipal structure in Europe, is just a short walk from The Shay. Or the 17th century Shears Inn, local to The Shay site, which is situated among the still standing mills you speak of, which were built around it, and is one of our town's best kept secrets, but is nevertheless enjoyed every other week by the occasional lucky travelling supporter. Thanks for asking. Oh you didn't? Never mind, here's some pictures:

You're not supposed to be engaging with me - as I'm not a supporter of a 'brother, great and historic football league club' and clearly support a mickey mouse tin potter team. Mind you technically you've never been a league team have you - thought that one went insolvent and you are a phoenix club. Not sure I can compete with the 'finest 'Roman style' Municipal Structure in Europe' - if that's the one in the picture it arguably looks more like something Ceausescu put up - but the Brackley Articles signed by the barons of England (who found the town rather handily located in the Southern Midlands, and not at all in the arse end of anywhere), were the forerunner of the Magna Carta?

Well our 'will they stay or go' process is pretty much over now with good news our best midfielder Alex Brown is staying........not easy these summers where our whole squad can leave!

Leaves us with 3 first teamers gone. On whole we are better off than one year ago, but weaker than one month ago.

Stronger defence and central midfield than last summer, kept our targetman (vital at this level for me) but lost our tricky player and a 20 goal striker.

Had to find both last summer so manager will be used to what is needed

As per the confirmed thread, Alex Simmons has joined Trinity. No surprise there, because either them or Boston end up with a handful of our younger players at one time or another.

Seemed to start ok at Halifax but fell away for one reason or another. You'd fancy him to get 10-12 goals over the season in a division he's played in quite a bit already, so it should be a solid enough signing. Important that he gets a full season of football under his belt.

I've been hugely impressed with Curzon's resolve since joining the Conf North. For such a small club, they always seem to be able to find the good local players and build a squad capable of finishing comfortably in this division.

Especially the way last season started for Curzon, to finish 14th was an excellent achievement.

It'd probably help if we didn't keep pinching your players!

I expected you or Chorley to grab Ryan Hall, but I wonder if money talked at Spennymoor.

To be fair I think as long as manager stays its always just a small rebuild job which makes it easier for us than say Alfreton or Boston. We lose 1-2, but other 13-14 know tactics, system, set-up.......so is a case of scouring for someone who fits the gaps.

Our problem is I think budget is miles behind rest, so we have to wait and hope no one grabs our targets, plus all end up short term fixes and same happens next year.

Still think top 10 possible with just two good signings

Yeah you do seem to generally have good squad retention. Hampson was with you guys for like 6 years before moving to us right? You did well to hold onto Alex Brown and Niall Cummins too. They both had good season's last year and probably could have gone elsewhere around Manchester for more money.

A few people on our message board were looking to Cummins as a possible signing for us. 17 goals is an impressive return from him.

I think Stockport have their chance this year.........i don't rate Salford like the rest do and do not expect them to do a Fylde.

Do not get me wrong, they are strong, but at present their signing just make them like last season.......strong and solid.

They still lack that creative spark, the game changer or the player who can win a game from nothing.....its what cost them last season the solid, but not spectacular aspect.

Feel league as I stands is wide open, no one yet stands out

Keith Lowe has tweeted saying he's leaving Harriers and from his tweet it seems he's surprised.
"I wasn't expecting to be looking for a new club but football is a cruel game!"

Idiotic decision if we've released him, our squad has already been stripped so far.

Top player and a massive loss for you.
Stupid McNamara came in and instantly got rid of him but then again McNamara fucked everything up

The club have yet to announce anything either, so there maybe was a falling out but it's not looking great for us.

You have more confidence in us than I and many other County fans have to be fair.
We have retained most of last season's squad which is a good thing and added some quality with O'Halloran, Warburton and Oswell. But on the flip side, we have lost our 2 most influential players in Lloyd and Montrose.
