He ran half the length of the pitch away from the Luton end to do a knee slide and celebrate in front of the the home fans, pretty standard booking.
He didn't knee slide.

Really curious about the George Moncur booking. I was sat in the stand he came to. I can't recall anything prior between him and the fans in the stand. Yet as soon as he scored he made a bee-line for that particular stand and his actions appeared quite intense and heartfelt.
I, like everyone around me, were shocked with a 'what the f was that all about' comment. If any Luton find out the reason please post on here.

Dont think there has been anything specific about it said. The general view seems to be that we werent particularly happy with the rough house tactics being employed in the first half and it was more of a general "have some of that" moment on his part. Might have been a single comment from someone out of earshot than the whole stand though

That looked personal. Way more than due to roughouse tactics. The second it went in he knew where he was going.

Did seem an odd one. I enjoyed the post on the Barnsley forum that concluded that Moncur was running over to our own bench to demand that he always starts games and this was evidence that he would destroy our team spirit though (Ignoring a) that our bench was on the opposite side of the pitch and b) no-one sane would try and pull that kind of thing with Big Mick Harford!).

Another of our games in hand tonight at home to Gillingham although granted Barnsley and Portsmouth are playing too so there may not be much movement should we finally win a game of football.

We have started creating chances now which was a massive worry especially after Maja left who scored everytime he touched the ball within radius of the net. The problem now is we just need to put them away and hope our defence doesn't screw everything up/our player of the season nailed on McLaughlin pulls off more heroics.

It's a good job Gillingham don't have some sort of prolific goalscorer who is good in the air, something we do terribly against.

It's going to be amusing when George Moncur begins to show his true colours at Luton. Granted he's doing well for them at the moment but as soon things start to go against him a little bit or he starts being put on the bench regularly rather than starting every game you'll soon find out. Played for us for two and half years, we're not pulling this out of our arses.

Burton at Oakwell tonight, quite confident we're coming away with the three points.

"Starts being put on the bench"? The Fleetwood game was the first one he's started since arriving. He's only played something like 120 minutes so far, I guess it just seems so much more because he's been scoring every five minutes :woo:

Our togetherness as a club on and off the pitch is far and away the biggest asset and main reason behind our current success and has been steadily built on over quite a few years through the rough times before this. I'd be very surprised if anyone was allowed to upset the apple cart as everyone at the club is aware of the unity and strength that brings. But as you say Craig time will tell.

I'm intrigued what will happen with Hylton as I suspect he will get less game time than he wants for the remainder of the season. It will be a good test of the club and Micky Harford esp as it's a known fact he's shirt term.

Losing again....and deservedly so. Play-offs looking unlikely at this rate.

Perfect timing...... We're back!

Wow, I’m surprised to see that sort of language or comment from someone as intelligent as you, Lamby

You got an undeserved 2-2 draw all those years ago after scoring with one which should have been disallowed for handball. Also Dominic Blizzard for breaking Grant Basey's ankle after 10 seconds of one game and he wasn't even sent off.

After tonight and now the cup is out of the way we have a chance of doing this.. a small chance but two away wins in a week have certainly helped. We need to learn how to win at home

Undone by 2 corners and 2 penalties tonight. Don't think 4-2 is a fair reflection as we were certainly well in the game for the vast majority, but can't begrudge Sunderland the win either as they finished the stronger. Thought we looked decent on the ball but still have the shits defensively - against weaker sides we should have enough to stay up, and with Oxford (h), Bristol Rovers (h), AFC Wimbledon (a) and Rochdale (h) in the space of 5 games in March, it really is well within our grasp.

Win at Wycombe on saturday and things will look rosey again, tonight was always going to be a bit of a free hit.

Weird night.

Not often you can go away to Pompey, moan about the pitch quality, score an own goal, miss a penalty and come out feeling frustrated you didn’t get 3 points.

Entertaining game of football though

Shit game between two shit teams tonight. You'd think we were fighting relegation based on our performance tonight.

Not seen the first penalty incident but many are saying it shouldn't have been given. The second was blatant but thankfully it was of Nigel Quashie quality and we got a draw courtesy of an own goal.

Our collapse is nothing short of a disaster now and we're playing turgid football to go with it.
