DarkSithLord what does Heath have to do to be sacked? Conceding 3 to FCUM is poor.
Thats exactly what we are. Nobody arsed about this season now. Very few if any of the players and the manager know they wont be here next season. Its just a patched up job until the end on Saturday. Only got around 13/14 players fit.

Cannot wait for it all to be over to be honest. I hear on the grapevine there are going to be serious changes in the summer.

What's going on with the managerial spot at kiddy? Seems a bit of a shambles

Yates was given it to the end of the season but didn't want it after. Now the playoffs are over seems pointless for him to stay.

In that case it seems a pointless appointment in the first place, you deserve much better than that.

Guess it depends on whether Chorley bring their hoofball game or their pass and move game. We've played them twice already this season and each game they just thumped it diagonally from either Meppen-Walter or Teague in a back three. We just mopped up the long ball and beat them 3-0 on each occasion.

When we've played them in the past and they've played football, they were excellent. Hoofball, nothing special. They are very good at set pieces.

As predicted, however, I still think Stockport have a great chance as Chorley have two tgough games left.

Never say never. We were comfortable today against Curzon and should have got a few more but we are nowhere near the side that hunted you down around the turn of the year.

They're nothing like the side they've been for much of the season

Battle between two teams running on empty tbh

We were second best today, God knows how they didn't score earlier, great keeping again from Urwin, sadly missed the penalty, but it was losing to Ashton Utd at home that has cost us dear, also the crzp performance at Slfreton, oh well, looks like the Play Offs unless Nuneaton were to......., it couldn't happen though could it?

Yay. We beat last seasons points total after a real end of season 0-0 at Telford. Both teams left their shooting boots at home.

We were second best throughout v Brackley. They missed several chances including a penalty and amazingly we should have nicked it at the end. So glad this shit season is nearly over.

Nuneaton only had two subs for today's game, one of them a 'keeper, who apparently came on & played up front

If we can't beat a side in such dire straits then I'll throw meself off the fucking viaduct

One of the worst performances I've seen this season on my travels, utter garbage.
It was like land of the giants and we still played hoof football to the tall tree's who mopped up with ease. It's that man again Turner who got down well and saved our bacon with a great penalty save after only a few minutes on the clock.

Referee was a disgrace as was the linesman, what is it with this league the referee's are woeful.

I can see why both of our clubs are languishing above the drop zone, awful football from both teams. I can't see a way forward next season we are too inconsistent? Three wins on the belt and we come out and play like that, simply just not good enough from the majority of the players. Back to the drawing board Tommy!

Remember that sometimes, not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck. Well we were lucky we got Alex Henshall :bang:

Great following of Quakers that witnessed a game of shite.

That man again Glen Taylor Spenny would be fucked without his goals this season.

It's a shame you did all the hard work by beating Stockport at home. But Spenny was always gonna be a tough nut to crack. Definitely deserve to go up through the play-offs ( I'm afraid to say the ball is back in Stockport's court).

Good luck Chorley!

Well what a rollercoatser of emotions Saturday turned out to be.

County cruised to a 2-0 win against Curzon which should well have been a few more and with Chorley drawing, ideally we'd have needed to hit Curzon for at least 4 to apply the pressure on the final day.

Then came a roar from the back of the Cheadle End?! Cue much excitement.........Have they done it? Have Spennymoor scored??? Alas no, Chorley had missed a penalty!

Into stoppage time we went, still ideally needing at least 1 more goal to put the pressure on.

THEN, an almighty celebration broke out as the news filtered through that yes, YEESSS, Spennymoor had scored! In the 4th minute of added time!! Those celebrations went on for a good 15 / 20 minutes as the players took their lap of honour at what will (hopefully) be their final outing at EP this season.

Surely we can't cock this up?! Surely! Although, it would be very Stockport County-ish to go and lose or draw against Nuneaton!

It's not over yet, not until the final whistle blows and we've secured the 3 points!

Come on County!

Play offs are going to be interesting, its been a long hard season and fatigue will play its part.
Who do people think will make it through?

I think we could beat anyone at home, but if we don't win it, I don't know how it will affect the lads after leading for almost all of the season.

Assuming Stockport win it it's a very difficult call to pick out a winner from the best of the rest. I've a hunch that the team that finishes third will win it. That could possibly be Brackley, who made us look puny yesterday, but could not find the net, even blasting a penalty out of the ground.

It's very common for the team on form to take the play offs. On that basis, Blyth would have to be favourites!

Out of the rest, I'd fancy Chorley (due to them having 2 games both at home) or Brackley.

Very comfortable win for Leamington against Nuneaton, who they play again in the county cup final on May 2nd at St Andrews. Colby Bishop was unplayable and bagged a hat-trick (could've easily been more). It's a real shame to see the current state of Nuneaton Borough to be completely honest. Only two subs on the bench on Monday!

If we found the net in remote proportion to the chances created this season then Stockport would be looking forward to the playoffs. It has been a frustrating season - and we're still clearly not as good as last year. I can think immediately of 13 points chucked away through missed pens or conceding last minute equalizers etc.

I think the main difference vs last season is the lack of sharpness in front of goal. Lee Ndlovu has many qualities, but when he has to think about the finish it is usually a problem. Most of those 13 points were in the first three months before the side settled down, and since then this year`s starting xi is pretty much a match for last year`s.

I had a Stockport supporting colleague at work, a very nice guy, but he left some time after the 2016/17 season and I haven't seen him since. After they bottled a good chance to at least get into the play-offs that season after Darlington were denied participation, I was pleased to see them finally be real contenders the last two years, far too big a club for that division (and for the NLP for that matter).

You lot must have undergone pretty contrasting emotions over the Easter weekend and to have it right back in your hands with an easy game on the final day must be a great feeling, how did you feel after you lost at Chorley? Did you feel you'd blown the title and maybe promotion altogether?
