Gloucester 2 York 3. Both teams missing their centre back and captain and arguably their best forward. We've still not seen Myrie-Williams yet either.

We started off slow again and York scored a relatively easy goal, but we hit back with an absolutely beaut from Joe Hanks and then Jake Jackson with a 5 yard poke put us infront. York equalised pretty soon afterwards, poor defending from us. Wind really played havoc for a lot of the first half.

After the break again we conceded early. Almost a carbon copy of York's first. They controlled the first twenty mins of so of the 2nd half but we found a way back in again and really pushed for a equaliser. Ref kinda lost control of the game for both sides however.

All in all, with a first 11 I think we'll certainly surprise a fair few in this divison. As for York, defensively they are pretty huge and looked very organised. Will be tough to see another winner right now.

A trip to Aggbrough tomorrow to face a Kidderminster side under John Pemberton who have had the greatest start to the season but sit in 9th place and are still searching for their first home win of the campaign.

Alfreton have started very well. Billy seems to have got a group of players tomorrow who responded to his instructions unlike last season. We currently boast the best home record in the league and despite the fact we are away I am confident of us repeating the trick of last season and coming away with three points.

Fantastic result and joint third in the table to top it all off, cracking start under Billy Heath. Just think last season we were moaning like fuck on who would walk the plank first..... Billy or Tommy?

Cheated.

1 up and cruising and then Danny Livesey sent off for two yellows in a minute. The first for having the nerve to complain about being smashed in the face with blood pouring everywhere. The second yellow for coming back on the pitch without permission after getting bandaged up. Ref waved his hand and lino near me tells Livesey he can go back on. Ref then says he was waving for a free kick instead. Jonno went apoplectic.

Absolute farce. They then scored two really weird goals through cock ups. Not Spennymoor's fault but they were really poor. Restricted them to next to nothing.

I don't rate them at all. I think they we're due a lucky result, unfortunately with the red card incident they got it today. If they fell in shit they'd come out clean.

The only problem yesterday was that Stopforth had to leave the pitch after he was targeted by Hereford's hatchetmen and it was last season when he was ruled out for the season that our play-off push deteriorated.

He'll be missed if he's ruled out again. A very good all round experienced player with a good head on his shoulders.

The game was dire. If we could defend set pieces that game would've been 0-0 as no one was scoring from open play.

Another shocking ref decision at home for us though, Chambers knocks it past your keeper in the last minute then gets taken out. The exact same thing happened against a Chester. Ref absolutely loved not giving it.

Yeah quite. Seems our decision to stick with Billy has been vindicated. Really has got a great balance to the side. However we have been fortunate with no injures so far.

The first penalty side was defo no penalty as our keeper got the ball cleanly and I didnt see the second one. I agree it was not the greatest game. Similar to last seasons in fact.

In the competition to see who can be the Midland's most underachieving Conf North team this year, the Kiddy-Brackley match could give us some clear pointers (with Telford interested spectators in the competition). We barely ever score so if Kiddy can nick a goal then that should be game over. I'm still pretty confident we'll pick up enough points to be a playoff team so I guess I shouldn't moan too much, just feels like we're going nowhere despite the squad continuity which should have left us in a good place.

Chester currently leading 3-1 at Curzon.

Big night at the top of the league with the top four Chester apart playing each other.

Gutted I cant make it to Kings Lynn. They seemed to have started like a train and have a 100% home record. Id snap your hand off for a point. A real test of our credentials.

Good shout for a 0-0 this. You're awful away and we're awful at home.

Billy Heath is a cracking manager at this level. I had you down for promotion last season, but by the sound of it he's back on track now.

Put Saturday's nonsense behind us with a comfortable win over Curzon.

Started well but fell apart a bit later on in the first half and Curzon were playing us off the park for a spell. Came back after the break and dominated the second half though.

we are still a fully part-time side at the moment training tue and thurs evenings, though that may change sooner rather than later.
Not convinced by slades appointment, feels a bit like another martin foyle style manager, with hoofball the order of the day, hope to be proved wrong though, and maybe at least he can get 11 players looking like an actual team rather than a group of individuals with no idea of what they are doing.
Oh and gateshead are still full-time i believe.
I knew there was talk of Gateshead remaining FT but I didn't think they'd go through with it.

What on earth is going through the heads of people up there?! If they were pulling in 1,000 or so, you'd question it but what to do they get? Still 300-500? Crazy.

Quiet on here today?

870 the attendance at Curzon on Monday, 500/600 of which were us.

I know neither have started well but those Kiddy and Telford gates are surprising.

Thanks, I've put the attendance on for Monday at Curzon.

Especially Kiddy's attendance 32 of them were from Brackley. Telford's lowest crowd so far, but they mainly hover around between 900/1,100/

Can we even scrape together 11 players for tonight?

The injury situation is ridiculous and Basombe and Donowa are away on international duty.

The 1300+ they got last night was more than than half a dozen National sides are pulling in.

Local derby with probably at least 3-400 away fans.

I'd imagine they will ordinarily get 7-800 if they're doing OK. Time will tell.

In any case, neither crowds of 7-800 nor 1,300 will support a FT team.

How much money do they still have propping them up. Thought that was all a thing of the past now?

I can't confess to know too much - I think that the fans and some local businessmen took over in the summer. I heard that just after the takeover, there was a 350k share issue - so it looks like money has went into the club that way.

Their budget is supposed to be 375k, which is extremely low for FT, but still comfortably more than a part time budget (ours is reckoned to be around 250k).

It goes without saying that without someone putting money in, they can't afford that budget. Again.

Good summery, got to say your club is one of the few good things about this league.fantastic fans and really enjoyed Evesham ground, great set up and would recommend all fans to visit it.from parking on grass pitches to club bar.
Good luck with new ground, quiet a trip to Evesham.
Ps thought York def had half of attendance.

A very entertaining game, both teams going for the win and I'm amazed it stayed goal less!
A draw the fairest result as neither team deserved to lose this one.

Guiseley are a good side and will be up near top all season, very good striker and winger.
Draw right result, they are very direct but are good at it,
Ground is awful for visiting supporters, you can’t see the game when full.

The lack of decent terracing is all thanks to Leeds Council Planners declining permission when the club were ready to invest. Improvements now seem to be on the back burner :(

1300 will if you make good use of the loan market and go with the smallest squad size possible. We managed to get by like this in the Conference while our finances were on the mend. However it leaves next to no money left over for ground maintenance etc so wouldn't advise it as a long term solution.

Can't see the game at a lot of grounds in this league when segregation is in place, it's binoculars out kicking towards the opposite end. And my eyesight ain't what it use to be :eyes:
