Cheers Woburn, I'll be honest I don't want to sit on the coach with nowhere to go as the Windows get bricked. Talk on AFC forum is more than enough to put me off going.

No one is gonna get anywhere near the coaches.

Talk's cheap mate, when it comes to it I bet there'll be little in the way of crowd trouble. The police will be out in numbers.

Exactly. There isn't a big enough crowd for it to get out of hand.

All i can say on this is come on AFC.
Total polar opposites, a proper club who came through the ranks and got trashed by the Football Association against a made up team.
I have been to MK Franchise the once and it felt more like a visit to a local cinema than a football match, there is no history or passion, basically a load of tourists with nothing better to do with their Saturdays.
Come on you Wombles.

Would a proper club be as pathetic as only calling MK Dons by MK on the cover of a programme, only doing one page on them rather than the usual amount and doing the absolute minimum when referring to them elsewhere? All pathetically petty to me and shows no class from a club hierarchy.

Maybe if the grotesque Maxwell had his way and you became was it ' Thames Valley Royals ' back in the day, you may think different.
The best one was when Franchise claimed the FA Cup win amongst their honours.

Ironic this, I used to go to a lot of away games on the coach before I could drive and the only two places we ever got bricked were Tranmere and Milton Keynes when they played at that awful hockey ground.

I think it's all rather funny, and in all honesty shows them up for the club that they are, treated with respect at our place, but chose to trash it and cause thousands of pounds of damage and then resort to school ground behavior in the build up to this match, it's all rather........... unprofessional.

Answer me two questions please.

1. Why did Erik, Ivor and the hierarchy not buy Wimbledon when it had the chance ? For a Pound.

2. As you all claim that you are Wimbledon, they only Wimbledon - Which club are paying the bill for former Wimbledon FC players pension deficit ?

Not wholly correct around MK claiming the FA Cup win though is it ? Are you saying AFC won it ? If so, they can pick up the tab for former Wimbledon FC employees with a pension deficit - can't they ?

Because it wasn't on sale for a pound you moron. Why the fuck would any of Koppel, Winkelman and the others involved want the club to be sold when moving it to MK was part of a massive plan including building a retail park.

That's just it though isn't it ? It was available to buy for that price, let me see, take on the debt and keep your club going, or start afresh, debt free and then claim that the only real offer was the move to MK. You and I know that there was a chance f or a counter offer, that none of you lot took up.

What about answering my second question too ?

I'm. Not purposely being abrasive btw, just interested in the answers, what AFC have achieved is quite remarkable, that should be what you celebrate and sell, instead of always claiming to be the victim, when you had an opportunity to retain what you had.

What about proving your bullshit claim that it was available? It makes no logical sense. Koppel and co weren't moving it to MK as a last gasp move, it was a plan which had existed in various forms for a long time, to increase revenue. He deliberately campaigned against moves back to Merton from Selhurst Park which would have restored the financial security of the club.

I don't believe for one second that there was a chance for us to buy it at "£1". It's a falsehood spouted by your lot to claim that our fans had no interest in securing the club. It is again, illogical, to argue that our fans wouldn't have taken that option. Show me one single news article where our fans turned down or even mentioned the idea of buying the club, I highly doubt you can.

I don't care much for your second question. Wimbledon FC doesn't exist anymore. You took on its financial burdens when you stole it however.

MK haven't sold out?

No. Due to the make up our support, it was always going to be touch & go. Given the restrictions (even as a Londoner, I'm having to go to an undisclosed location at stupid o'clock for a midweek game and get on a coach). That has put plenty off. It's a full afternoon off work whatever way you slice it.

Also consider, even with no restrictions at somewhere like Brentford, we'd only take around five hundred or so midweek. Our support is what it is, families and a lot of old boys who couldn't be arsed with the arrangements for this. Even the lack of any seating will have put off a significant number of away regulars who fall into that category.

I know MK will never fully believe this and understand a different version of history. There was no opportunity of counter offer. Knowing everyone from our side involved at time it's simply not true. The whole thing was set up for ages. Selling to us would have meant no development so would never happen. Also Erik and ivor are not millionaires so we would not be able to raise huge amounts.

No problem at all likely to be tomorrow when I find it, provided I have enough time during work before I have to leave ridiculously early to travel the short distance to Kingston.

They are back at the same level as MK Dons and above them, have achieved plenty of promotions getting into the Football League/Lg 1, look likely to be moving into a new stadium in Wimbledon. Why aren't they celebrating this by highlighting the success pointedly in the programme rather than the petty non use of the opposition name/badge etc?

A club is supposedly meant to be professional, this most definitely isn't and actually makes Wimbledon look tinpot, rather than MK Dons. I understand the fans having this attitude and displaying it but not club officials who are supposed to be professional representatives of a club.

You've kind of highlighted the big issue for those voted into power at AFCW though. Anything seen as appeasement will upset a significant proportion of their fanbase. That could result in them being thrown off the gravy train, and no-one wants that.

So, the cash of 2,000 season ticket holders, including a significant number who bought five year bonds, significant benefactors pumping in a few hundred grand (and a lot more since), the commercial adavantages of having jobs done at the club for free while all your peers (even at CCL level) have to pay for them, and being able to obtain the loan that bought Kingsmeadow, don't count then?

This is all a hypothetical, but we would still have to pay for the debt, pay for the stadium we moved to, pay for everything else. That is before the simple fact that the option of buying the club was never available.

I have nothing against MK supporters now aside from the rivarly clubs fans have with each other. What I can't stand is your attempts to whitewash the move and claim it was legitimate. Winkelman himself has admitted it was wrong, why the fuck can't you?

Yes of course but not for amounts that would have been required. Look this is an impossible argument. After wars the different sides teach their own version of events to the respective people's. We are never going to agree. You tell people something enough times and eventually it becomes "truth". Yes I know of you can claim that as well. I'm done with this as an argument as we will never agree of the correct version of history. I know what I know from being present. That will do me

Nice little quote from bath womble here ref the whole thing, and kind of answers my question about us paying former players pension deficit....

"If Franchise FC were a 'legal continuation' of Wimbledon FC, then they would still be liable for all Wimbledon FC's debts and subject to all its liens and encumbrances. It isn't. Case closed."

I have no idea about the financial aspect of it, have you got any proof for you still paying former players pension deficits?

You might be the legal continuation, I don't know, but I don't think it really matters. The same spirit and identity that was in Wimbledon through all those years is now replicated in AFC Wimbledon, and the longstanding support of the overwhelming majority of ex-WFC players and staff says it all.

So why the pettiness from the club in the official programme if you have all those things and are at the same level as MK Dons and have a new ground on the way?

Just because we worked hard to get where we are now doesn't mean the move was right, and the hostility that comes from our side now is often in response to MK fans and Winkleman or whoever saying stupid inflammatory things.
