Whilst I agree that stats can tell you anything you want, Ripley is absolute mustard and I don't think there's any better in this league.

We have absolutely no chance of having him next season, and I suspect whether Boro go down or not Ripley will be in their first team squad next season.

Best GK we have ever had in my lifetime for sure.

There can't be many worse than James Shea for us.

Our good one won't play a game this season.

Our latest one is tall and German.

Stats can tell you owt they want. But Ripley is the dogs.

Our defence is good but nowt to write home about. If the attack matched defence we would be in a play off push.

Ripley will be premier league class no doubt

He's got the total package, apart from his 6/10 kicking. He's got the power, needs better accuracy.

I can see him doing a Jordan Pickford and go straight into Middlesbrough's first team next season.

Ripley played one game for us and let in 5 goals against Hartlepool. :bg:

It was a couple of years ago though.

To be fair, both penalties Ripley saved weren't exactly tricky. He went the right way both times, fair enough, but they were both relatively poor pens!

To be fair, Ripley would be one of the names I'd think about for the best, I just didn't like the simplistic reasoning.

He was good against us although I probably underrate him because i) he had a shoddy loan spell that lasted a single game with us a few years back ii) he seems like a bit of a clown.

The other that always sticks in the mind is the Northampton keeper who always has a decent game against us.

Mind you, there's something in us all naming keepers from shit teams. No one cares about whoever the Sheff Utd keeper is (if they have one) because no one's impressed with the single save he makes each month.

Charles Cook is by far the worst goalkeeper. Hope he suffers a career ending injury in training on Monday

You say that but our defense is pretty good and Ripleys organisation of the back line is a prime reason. I would say our complete back unit compares with any on the top 6. It's going forward we are relegation fodder. You couldn't tell the play off team from the relegation battlers between millwall and us yesterday

Based on statistics, Nelson should have a claim on the worst, having only kept two clean sheets in the league this season, both at home. He also has a tendency to throw one in ever so often and doesn't come off his line much.

On other occasions he has saved us though and our defence is absolutely pony, including a right back that drops in to sleep mode on a regular basis.

I don't think any keeper has had a worldy against us this season, probably because we don't tend to dominate games but Ripley did look solid and confident.

Bury have had some shite goalkeepers. Walton, Williams, Loach easily the worst. Pope the best. Though he's at Burnley now.

Oldham fans, there are other keepers in League 1 apart from Ripley, believe it or not.

Charlton fans, is Declan Rudd still decent? rumours we're going to try and bring him back in the summer when we've binned off Lindegaard.

I liked him, should be decent competition for Maxwell if it happens..

Our goalie Alex Cairns started season as No 2 but quickly established himself with Rosler mainly because he can play, very much a modern style, the sweeper keeper.

We bought 2 goalies after Chris Maxwell left for Preston in the summer and surprisingly hes doing very well there, but not missed at Highbury.

I should think that at this point Cairns has as good a stats as anyone in L1, a youngish lad raised then rejected by Leeds, now re-inventing himself under quiet conditions at a Fleetwood.

No idea if hes the best but at this rate he will be attracting attention, no doubt about that.

Tale of 2 keepers to ight at boundary park. Oxfords looks the best I've seen in this division this season against us anyway. Ripley had another good game although didn't need to dive in for the penalty and with more experience would have simply ushered him wide.

I'm going to take up the unique position that the team I support doesn't have the best keeper in the league. Eastwood made some top drawer saves against Posh on Saturday but he also has a habit of letting weaker ones in - not absolute howlers but ones he would like to be saving with ease. Anything to his far post and I'm not happy either.

Good keeper though. Very happy with him.

With news of Vigoroux being dropped I'm going to state the obvious again - absolute liability and should have sold when they had a chance.

Ours is pretty shit, but I still think the Swindon keepers are up the top.

Don't beat yourself up about it. Other people on this forum think the Earth is flat, and your analysis of Vigoroux is only slightly more off the mark.

This thread should of barred own club selection.
Can only go on what i have seen myself, bearing in mind we don't shoot very often not many keepers have excelled.
What i will say categorically 100% ( again only who i have seen ) Vigouroux is an absolute clown, he was awful on Saturday and seems to think he is some sort of fancy dan. Made one save for the cameras which was going 5 foot wide and gave us a corner, aside form that Fasan of Vale runs him a close 2nd as the worst in the division.

I should explain - up top in terms of the 'shitness' league.

He and 3 others were dropped last night due to going out on the lash at the weekend. The club is an absolute shambles from top to bottom. Add Kasim and Hylton throwing their toys out the pram weeks ago and it's no wonder we are where we are.

I think we have 17 players leaving in the summer but with Power still in charge we're fucked next season, too

Vigoroux is an absolute clown, bell end, and liability on and off the field. Whoever offered £400,000 for him needs sectioning. Wasn't it him that paid a fine in pennies?
