...Maidstone according to the football ground map survey!

We came 2nd, with Solihull 3rd and Barrow 4th.

A lot of other fans have had nice things to say about us home and away. Good to see a few of the less glamorous clubs up there.

Enjoyed the trip to Gallagher early in the season greatly, from what I remember it was a decent atmosphere

Look forward to going again with the new stand being there and us being 7 points clear #GOING4IT

Boreham Wood below Braintree? Fuck off. Boreham Wood at least have the one elder gentleman going "We are the Wood, we are the Wood, we are we are we are the Wood". Braintree have nothing.

That list's made it hit me how poor most atmospheres have been when I've visited some of these away grounds.

Top one I've been to on that list, Solihull, there weren't 200 home fans there last time we visited. On the first visit the only atmosphere they made came from a few blokes who stood behind our goal in the first half just to go "wheyyyyy" at every missed chance.

Barrow was very quiet bar a few trying to have a go at us from the other side of the fence. Didn't even get that Discoland song they do.

Dover, pretty quiet.

Tranmere apparently have resurrected themselves a bit so you get more than "Su' Whi' Army" twice a game, so fair dos.

Finally got a good home atmosphere at Wrexham at our last game there, when our team's average age was 22, getting mauled by them who had a flying start.

FGR...village cricket. They got a 98th minute winner against us and the resultant sound was like a small table of pensioners clocking that their raffle numbers have won one of them a pasta maker.

Lincoln gave it a go when their team were playing at an acceptable level.

Woking: "Drowned in the floods / You should've drowned in the floods". Cheers guys.

Eastleigh was so quiet it was surreal. Like being in a vacuum.

Chester always give it a go. We've got a friendly rivalry, or at least it's hopefully friendly.

Guiseley have been going up in the world and credit to them for chasing the local support, but Netherregions is still a very open ground.

Dag & Red I seem to remember were decent for a run-of-the-mill Cup game. Macclesfield alright. Scouseport are certainly quiet but have had little to cheer for a long time. Morning Wood had some prat singing nursery rhymes about northerners beating their wives through a megaphone while all his fellow Chelsea fans gurgled in glee. And whatever North Furby do, they've done well to out-dead Gateshead's atmosphere.

Maybe we're just not the plum draw we wish we were. Ho hum.

Despite getting mauled, I quite liked Maidstone, still a bit of a building site when we went but it was a nice setup and the fans were noisy, agree with that. Aldershot as well are quite a partisan bunch on the East Bank. Not sure about Solihull though, the atmosphere was decent when we visited on Boxing Day but as we were on a great run at the time and outnumbered them I think that was more due to ourselves.

Eastleigh's the stange one, their atmosphere is five kids who are let in free, standing on the back row of that new stand making prats of themsleves for 90 minutes every other week. They were genuinely jumping up and down celebrating 'fake goals' against us last season!

Well this is clearly nonsense.

Our fans bemoan the lack of atmosphere at every opportunity, plus we barely ever have any decent numbers of away fans visiting to make it a spectacle. There are worse, but if we're fourth, then it must be excruciatingly quiet at the other 20 grounds.

"You may not like the way we do atmosphere at the GIS, but it absolutely owns all those AFC phoenix clubs like Halifax, Darlington, Chester, Telford and Glasgow Rangers who have only existed for a few years and therefore haven't even had time to get going"

[Cue an endless comment chain with HG Yellow&Black and B2TF]

No Pliny, as stated in my signature, I will now only directly engage with those who support one of our fellow Great & Historic Football League brother clubs. I've come to realise that conversing with the Tin Potters somehow, in their deluded psyches, allows them to convince themselves that their clubs are in some small measure, the equal of ours. I've gone for the cruel to be kind option, it's what's best for them in the long run. :bdick:

If borehamwood do well next year this may evolve into ' we have wood '

It'll be split when you visit. When we segregate, away fans get 600 on there while home fans fill the remaining 1000 or so, so it'll be noisy and full of "banter" I'm sure.

So you're not keeping the whole terrace? & put away fans down the flat side?

To be honest the atmosphere at our place used to be truly awful. Basically there wasn`t one oh accept for the moaning from certain so called fans who`s greatest pleasure in life was howling abuse at our own players. Then towards the end of last season the Trust got some drummers in and the Trust band was formed. The difference was amazing to be honest. It is now like going to a different ground. The fans get behind the team in a way I haven`t seen, or heard, since the glory days on the 90`s. If there is a better atmosphere or noisier crowd in this league than ours is now I certainly haven`t seen it.

We'd love that to be the case, but I don't think the police are okay attempting to segregate the river side. Partly because there's no turnstile access to it so away fans would have to wade through the home ends. I'd be perfectly okay letting away supporters have the Town End, the former home end. Thankfully only a small handful of games will be segregated anyway.

My comment was tongue in cheek.

Your away crowd looked livelier on tele during the run in. Must say though that when you came to the bank the 700 odd behind the goal were very quiet other than Toilet's dive and resulting peno. Which was disappointing because as we both well know, large away followings are few and far between so we were looking forward to you lot smashing the place up or something but it wasn't to be.

I'm surprised Lincoln are not ranked higher to be honest as I thought the noise reverberating off Danny Cowley's nose would've made it sound much louder.

Awful. His wife's worldie and he's gunna be a very rich man one day. You're probably single and work at Iceland. In Grimsby.
