Bury is Greater Manchester. Could never be considered local rivals even if they were at our level. Blackburn Rovers has been our local rivals since 1888 and still will be despite their fall from grace under dodgy owners.
Wrong on that score, Blackburns biggest rivals were us and Preston, Burnley didn't resonate until the 1960's

Looking down the list linked to the OP I would hardly call Barcelona Vs Real Madrid a derby.

Perhaps it depends on what you'd call a "derby match". I think most would agree it is a game between local rivals. Barcelona and Madrid are separated by more than 600 Km. Surely Real's derby match is against Atletico.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid is a major rivalry for sure, between Spain's top two clubs. But a derby...? I'm afraid I have to disagree on that one.

Liverpool vs Manchester United only barely qualifies because of the proximal links of the two cities. I would call this match a "major rivalry" too, but surely Liverpool's derby match is against Everton and Manchester United's is against City - no matter how much Alex Ferguson used to denigrate it.

Some of it is history as well, some big derbies these days are only 50-60 years old if that. We have loads of derby matches, but it depends on which generation you speak to to define are main one, for what it's worth, as a 70's child it was always Blackburn, and if you speak to most lads in the 70's we were theirs, it's all relative, which with Burnley fans is much more family orientated :)

Quite right. I know of Charlton supporters who consider matches against Arsenal (not that there are many of them) to be Derby games because Arsenal originated in the Woolwich area of South London, just a couple of miles from Charlton.

When I point out that Woolwich Arsenal relocated to north London in 1913, some 7 years before Charlton entered the Football League, I'm told that it doesn't matter.

I don't pursue the issue. I just put it down to fan over-enthusiasm.
