Top of the table clash at bramall lane on Saturday. A win would be a huge step towards promotion for us and a loss puts Scunthorpe back in full control. I feel confident we have enough to win this game especially considering scunnys last two results which they will be hugely disappointed with. Gonna be a big crowd in for this one around 27k or so I hear so let's hope 24k of them are going home happy.

Blades 3-1 Scunthorpe
Sharp 2, duffy 1 att. 27,911 (2845 away fans)

The last 3 results!! LLD

We will need to score at least 2 to win as Billy always scores against us........

However, I think we will be up for this encounter and I predict a score of 1-2, and 3,000 happy fans.

Up The Iron.

Not confident whatsoever here. We've been very poor for the last few games, for a team that scored so many goals before christmas, we barely look like we can score now. Hopper and Van Veen really need to start, Toney and Davies should be nowhere near the team. Mantom may be fit, I pray to god that he is. Desperately hoping Wiseman can be fit as well, no sure Sutton will be good enough for this game.

2-0 is my prediction.

1st v 2nd. Should be a good game. Hope so. I think most L1 fans are surprised that we are challenging for a play-off spot, never mind automatic. I had us down for a top 6 finish and I think we'll make it. We haven't dropped away yet. What with Sharp, Duffy and Knill, it'll be like old times. Here's hoping we can at least get a point. Recent performances would suggest otherwise, but one never knows.

I don't think they are, quite a high proportion had you down for top 6 in the pre-season predictions!

Based on form we should win.

We've had more possession than the oppostion for 18 consecutive games. We've also had more shots, more shots on target and more corners than the opposition in 17 of our last 18 games.
So of course I'm confident we'll dominate the game.

However if Scunthorpe defend well and catch us on the break (like Fleetwood did so proficiently the other week) with swift postive counter attacks then we do look vulnerable, so Scunny have a chance.

Will be a big occasion and hot atmosphere.
A SU official tweeted that at close of play today 27,800 tickets had been sold for the game and with a small pay on the day walk up from home fans then it should end up over 28K. Away fans have been told (for some reason) no pay on the day allowed.

Another comfort for Scunnie fans is whenever there's a big match, big crowd and expectancy at Bramall Lane we always seem to come up short. Hoping Wilder can kick this bad habit.

Prediction: Blades 2 Scunthorpe 1 (attendance 28,131).
but I'd take a draw as long as we beat Bolton next week and take 4 points from our 2 season defining games.

The momentum is with the Blades and Scunny showing a slight wobble. Think the hosts will shade this 2-1 in front of a crowd bigger than the whole population of Fleetwood !

Very dominant 1st 15 minutes from Sheffield Utd. Already had 3 or 4 excellent chances. Great atmosphere.

Scunthorpe looked shell shocked and haven't settled yet but have some how managed to hold on.

Scunthorpe have their 1st shot of the game in 25 mins. Long shot from well outside the area and well wide, ironic cheers from the Kop.

United look comfortably the better side in every department but surely Scunthorpe have to up their game at some point.

Half-time 0-0
Really good display from Sheff Utd, played with a high tempo, energy and playing some slick passing. Scunthorpe have took a bit of a beating so far and based on that showing there's a big gulf between the 2 sides.

In the 2nd half we kick against the Kop and it looks nailed on we'll win but I expect a reaction from the dissapointing Scunnie players and whilst it stays 0-0 they have a chance.

Scunthorpe had a player sent off, now down to 10 men.

Kicking against a packed Kop, all set up for a winner.

It's all 1 way traffic now, loads of half chances and goal mouth scrambles.

Looks only a matter of time before we score the winner.

Wow what a let off.

Scunny go down the other end and blast it against the foot of the post from close range.

Attendance announced as 27,980.

Muzzle,
Sheff Utd make every single away game ticket only because they need to know away numbers in advance so do everything to encourage home and away fans to buy tickets in advance.

However we almost always announce the day match that tickets are available for away fans pay on the day BUT all prices for pay on the day tickets go up £2 compared to advance.

I believe today's Scunthorpe match is the first time this season SU made the decision to prevent pay on the day tomaway fans BUT I think the reason was SU were worried some Blades might prefer to buy tickets in the away end and wanted to prevent potential trouble.

I would think there will be pay on the day for Bolton fans but we won't announce it until the day before the match because we want everyone to buy advance tickets and prevent the possibility of 1,000 Bolton fans queuing up outside the ticket office causing delays.

There will be more blades there next week than today I'd of thought so no potd for Bolton?

That is a excellent point for us.

Alexander got his tactics all wrong. Dropping an actual winger for a striker who can't play on the wing was a mistake. When I first saw the team I thought we'd get smashed. First half we were absolutely dominated, could've been 3 or 4 by half time. 2nd half we stepped it up, we still weren't amazing but gave it a better go. The lads battled incredibly well considering we were down to 10 men, Dawson, Madden, Bishop and others ran their socks off. Red was a little harsh considering Toffolo commited two fouls and was booked for them both. Hanson must've committed about 8 and wasn't booked.

Good should be touching 30k

You can bet that all those that went today will be back next week.
We played some fantastic football today. The radio presenter Keith Edwards said that first half is the best he's seem us play for several years. Also great atmosphere for a change, Blades really got behind the team like the PL old days and the team were cheered off even though we only drew. No one can deny we were a class above a very ordinary Scunthorpe.

However good luck to Scunny, hope they come up with Bradford.
Nothing personal Muzzle, just prefer to play local teams.
