The rules seem whimsical. These Old Etonians and Engineers reminded me they had won more trophies than most clubs. Is it time to lose your brotherhood status if you stay outside the league for more than 5 years and have gates below three thousand on average?

Think of it as more an AA type support group than a brotherhood. Visualise a circle of downtrodden people sitting in a circle in a cold draughty church hall. From the shadows a timid voice pipes up, hoping to be heard; "My name is Leyton Orient, and I'm an underachiever". "Well done," replies Chesterfield, "that was very brave of you". "I feel your pain," sympathises Wrexham. Meanwhile, Hartlepool comes over and gives Orient a hug.

I am the founder and sole administrator of The Brotherhood. I make the rules, of which their are 3:

1) Members are those clubs in the Football League in 1986
2) Membership will expire only when the Earth stops turning and falls into the Sun
3) No new members may be admitted

Thanks for asking. :ds:

Post of the year. Incredibly accurate

Seeing as it was 4am, he must have been pissed up to think he can call the Brotherhood out like this. These tinpotters are seemingly all teaming up together trying to start a war against the elite? Bring it on.

Indeed, they've been having digs all season, worse than it's been before.

So in true Winston Churchill spirit, I appeal to the Brotherhood forces:

'We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in the National League, we shall fight on the 3G pitches, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength on the terraces. We shall defend our Brotherhood whatever the cost may be.

We shall fight at Sutton, we shall fight at Fylde, we shall fight at Solihull Moors and Maidstone United. We shall never surrender and if, which I do not for the moment believe, this Brotherhood or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by past membership of the Football League, will carry on the struggle until in God's good time the Proper Clubs with all their power and might, step forth to the rescue and promotion of the Natural Order at the expense of our foes'

JaredSUFC and the OP seem quite bitter about supporting a pointless team.

Obsessed.

No more pointless then Wrexham or Leyton Orient. We all live in the same, non-league boat, it’s just some clubs have delusions of adequacy based on past ‘achievements’. Fine if you want to have your little ‘brotherhood’ support group, we’ll just continue to mock you.

Some clubs are in a long term upwards trajectory. While others look on in terror at York, Stockport and Torquay, helpless and at the mercy of incompetent owners.

Everything is more pointless than Leyton Orient and Wrexham tbh. Apart from maybe Hartlepool and Chesterfield.

Can I just point out that officially, it's 1987.

If you were in the league in 1987, then you are part of "the great 92" and as you correctly point out, you will be for ever.

Just the same as the likes of Crawley, Forest Green, Fleetwood can never be part of it. They will always be tinpot, for ever.

You're wrong about the date for this reason- Scarborough were in the FL in 1987, as the first beneficiaries of automatic promotion and have no place among the Brotherhood. The rest of your post is spot on. :ds:
