Much like Carver, we are seriously lacking penetration and our form is suffering because of it. We keep dominating possession but without an end product it means fuck all, losing Doidge so late is starting to hurt. Unless that changes we're gonna keep sliding, Grubb might be back but tbh I can't see us getting much from this. Carlisle are decent and will know how to play us - let us have the ball where we can't hurt them and hit us on the break when we get frustrated and start giving the ball away.

Need a striker desperately, January can't come soon enough.

Yep, more chance of decent finish on an IKEA sideboard than from us at the minute. It's been pointed out we did score a fair amount of goals in the period just after Doidge left but have a feeling we were coasting on the early season confidence we built up with him on board and as that's ebbed away so the contributions from others have dried up a bit too. I understand most of the Carlisle posters here are pessimists too so I look forward to a thread where we compete to talk down our chances.

You sound like us a couple weeks ago when we'd lost five consecutive home games without scoring. Not getting too carried away with the fact we've managed to go from that to scoring seven in the last two, but it gives me hope we can score at least one.

Leave Carver alone you bully. He's not the boy man he once was.

Anyway he can't be bothered with the footy right now. I hear he's devoting all his time to seeking out some Ukranian lass while there's still time before Brexit dashes all his dreams.

Recently Ive been questioning the bookies odds for league 2 games. But this time they have it spot on. Forest Green are the bookies favourites to win this match and quite right too.

At home we’ve been dreadful. Against Newport we nicked it at the end but before that we managed to jizz away a 2-0 lead.

Theyvs drawn a lot but I’d say it’s a game we’ll likely lose particularly after such a good away win. The fact that they’ve only lost 3 so far this season and we are largely dreadful at home means I put our chances of winning very slim.

Carlisle United 0-1 Forest Green

Not a fan of the whacky thread titles but this is an absolute gem. Well done Chris.

Similar to Chris, it's our puerile approach at attacking play and complete lack of a goal scorer that is harming us. Until that's sorted were dead in the water. Injuries are not helping but still were not living-up to early season expectations. I'm beginning to wish I'd never seen our demolition of Grimsby away on the season opener. Desperately need to get a point and score a goal, something we haven't done for quite a long time. I need cheering-up!

We have won two games at home and four away in the league this season, but we have also had two of our three defeats on the road, despite the comments above I don't think this will be a draw.

However, the atmosphere at the club does have a real mark-time feel to it, we are all waiting for January when a replacement for Doidge can be brought in. Hopefully we won't have sunk too far by the time that happens as, whilst my hope for this season was mid-table mediocrity, it could be far better than than.

Starting with our loanee Ben Morris up front, with Reid and Campbell on the bench. Let's hope he's been tearing it up in training.

Christ on a bike! Pen for handball that I didn't see clearly on the radio, then Carlisle coming on strong, including keeper up late for a corner and they hit the post. Phew.

that's a fancy radio you've got, I never see things clearly on mine

only real positive from us was that we responded moderately well to going 2-0 down but that was abject.

Tell you what. That first half absolutely highlighted our glaring lack of quality.

We made forest green look like a la liga team taking the piss against a bunch of part timers. Not seen such a one sided opening 20 minutes to a game in a long long time. Diabolical.

It’s really starting to piss me off going to Brunton Park to see defeat after defeat. Week upon week of utter toothless shite from a team that have absolutely no clue as to how to break down a team with a hint of defensive structure. It’s an absolutely pathetic state of affairs at Carlisle United. Horrific to watch.

Commiserations to Carlisle fans, but we needed that today. Wether we deserved to win, it's not easy to tell from our local radio commentary. Looking forward to reports. The footballing gods smiling on us today. Beer time:p:bow:

Weren't in that game at all, Forest Green knocked it around us like they were a few leagues above us, particularly first half. Left after the second, for the first time in a few years, but it was as bad as I've seen this season.

The Russian lass ditched me and she broke my heart. :(

But it's ok, because now I'm into this Zimbabwean lass who is fit as out.

Fuck knows. I guess it’s habit and there’s always the slim hope that our fortunes will change.

Slim hopes?

Think of all the money you have wasted on them, you could of saved that money up and put it in the bank to get more interest on it. :)
