Such a shame that another major final is ruined by a goal that wasn't. How long will it be until TV replays are introduced? Atletico robbed.

ALso annoying that one of the worst players on the pitch throughout ended up scoring the decisive penalty.

Massive Ronaldo fan, but his celebration to scoring the penalty didn't sit right with me. It's all me, me, me.

Pepe with a selfie stick because presumably he doesn't trust the rest of the world to hit record on millions of pounds worth of filming equipment.

A poor final which Atletico will be very disappointed not to have won.

Even more annoying is how the media will now claim this to be some sort of Ronaldo final with him scoring the winning penalty despite doing fuck all during the match

Lamentable Atlético ended up in the "almost" again. Simeone's strategy was superior than Zidane's, experience counted a lot here, anyway Atlético for the second half and ahead seemed more prepared to get this. Really a pity Juanfran missed his penalty.

Atletico certainly got the rough deal with that shoot-out. In front of the Real fans and shooting 2nd. I wonder if they actually chose to shoot 2nd? Looked like they lost the toss and Real picked ends but sometimes the ref chooses ends himself if he thinks there is a particular reason to such as state of the pitch/advice from police.

Can we talk about the real reason why Real won the shoot-out? Oblak was terrible and was never going to stop one. The only way Atletico was going to win this is by a Real player putting it off target. A goalkeeper of that quality should do better on penalties. It's the only reason why Real took it. They deserved it 2 years ago but this season is a steal. Beating poor sides en route to the final and Zidane will know forever be known as that rookie who won the biggest prize of all.
Football lost last night.

They did. After they lost the coin toss it was up to them to decide who have to start

What do you mean Oblak was terrible? The pens were pretty much unsaveable. I think he was just waiting for one of them to go down the middle but it never appened.

Standing in the middle of the goal isn't going to make you save pens. No penalty is unsaveable (well, except Marcelo's).

Standing in the middle is definitely going to save you pens if they hit it down the middle. It also helps with the players who wait to see what the keeper does first.

But if the player sees that the goalie isn't committed, he has more chances of calmly slotting it on the sides.

I'm just saying that btw. I've never taken a penalty in my life.

It's a shame Atletico couldn't do it to make a change, but credit to Real Madrid another Champions League to add to their collection and I'm sure Ronaldo is chuffed he's stole the headlines. Can see Spanish dominance in European competition for quite a while to be honest.

Surprised they picked to go 2nd. I think it's better to shoot first. More often than not pens are scored so if you go 2nd more often than not you will be chasing and under more pressure.
