Why would it be pathetic? I'm not embarrassed, surprised it has such an impact on you.

Or I could put it another way, why would it be pathetic that the team with the second worst away defensive record (only Rotherham have conceded more) not sell out a decent sized allocation?

You always try and justify your away followings, if they're shit just admit they're shit.

Okay then, I could put it another way; you're top six and still at risk of falling out so it really is crunch time for you, an away game at a ground two hours away on Easter weekend that you haven't played at for five years and you still couldn't sell 2,400. Bit shit really isn't it?

Why do you care so much about another club's away following?

I follow football as a game, not how many people turn up to watch it. Just like any other form of entertainment. I don't go to music concerts and care about how many other people are standing around listening to the same band I am.

The same reason everyone else comments in this thread, because they're interested in home and away attendances. Evidently you are as well, given you're reading the thread.

Tbf to Reading I think most clubs outside the "massive" ones would struggle to sell out an away game after losing 7-1 in there last, regardless of position on the table.

The last time we played reading at home it was a rainy Monday night sky game. The attendance was 28k and they had 300 max for the relegation battle. I didn't expect them to sell out yesterday tbf because they just don't travel well but fair play to them.

from a very young age me and my mate who's a big Leeds fan were interested in home and away support, especially away support. You don't get away support or the history of it in any other country like you do in England. My grandads loft is a treasure trove with footy programmes dating back to the late 40s and away programmes dating back from the 60s. Home and away he went for decades until it became all seater. Funnily enough I found an old programme at my parents the other week that he brought back for me from hillsborough from the early 90s. Any of the Sheffield lads present at that game, second game of the season on a Wednesday night in the 93/94 season?

Yeah we struggled to beat you at ours with you under Atko, Dean Saunders being the main tormentor in chief. In fact we only won 2 from 1991/92 to relegation at ours, 95-96 2-0 and 96-97 2-1 rest were odd goal defeats or a bore draw.

never a dull moment under big rob. Saunders was class and if it weren't for how good that united team were in 92/93 we would of won the league. Carbone was a great buy but I wish we had this fella off you too

I was there that night, we had literally signed Regi a few hours or so before, I had honestly never heard of him, he played like that and looked a world beater but that night was as good as it got from him.

Got interviewed by some Dutch TV company in the front of the stand beforehand.

I thought he scored a few goals for you but he only scored once more after the villa game. 3 goals in 45 apps.

Aye almost a year after, in a 3-0 win at Forest, back post tap in, he got banned by UEFA for signing a pre contract at Udinese and backing out to join us, then became the makeweight in us signing Paolo.

I would have been there too, but can't remember it either, must have been riveting. Can remember the first match that season a 2-0 defeat at Anfield Collymore getting both, (might have been his debut). Can remember it distinctly as after our previous seasons near misses in both cup finals, started that season with genuine hope that we could win the title that year. Oh for those days again

Collymore was still at Forest til 1995, he was superb in our 1-7 defeat to em at ours, It was Nigel Clough who scored twice on his Liverpool debut that day BTW.

They're often announced at the game along with the total attendance. Pretty sure Burton was 600 and something...

Memory not quite what it once was. That 7-1 the one where him and Roy tore us apart? I'm now quite patient with managers, but that day remember wanting Francis sacking straight after the game. Lasted till end of season and got sacked a year to the day of the cup final (if my memory is correct on that).

Can't compete with the incredible bristol city followings week in week out.
Nor Blades when the going inevitably gets tough next season. I'll look forward to the 700 at Ashton Gate and 800 at QPR :animatedf:
