Just a bit of discussion on this late Monday evening, best Championship XI... give it your best shot!

Button

Hunt Lascelles Dean Bidwell

Gallagher Hendrick

Hughes Forestieri Tomlin

Gayle

Gallagher in their for set pieces btw, but he is still excellent.

Hard to argue with most of that, but give it a go.

What on earth has Lascelles done to merit being in there?

I'd argue with Hendrick as he's never done anything of real merit at this level. He had a decent Euro's to be fair to him but he's still yet to fulfil potential with us.

GK. Westwood
RB. Bruno
CB. Elphick
CB. Chester
LB. Taylor
RM. Judge
CM. Hughes
CM. Forrestieri
LM. Knockaert
ST. McCormack
ST. Assombalonga

All out attack.

What was the QPR team for the last two games?

My answer is them*- the league table doesn't lie.

*I reserve the right to change the team from QPR to whoever the league leaders are at any given time.

Keiren Westwood is the best keeper in this league.

Tom Lees and Lewis Dunk both top notch centre halfs at this level!

I had Westwood down originally, but forgot that Cardiff had Marshall.

That's funny because Doherty has done next to nothing bar scoring a goal against Reading.

I'm sure there are better fullbacks around on form than him.

He was at fault for one of the Rotherham goals. I don't remember Reading putting him under any sort of pressure and Ipswich scored a perfectly legal goal (wrongly disallowed), in which the cross leading to it should have been cleared by him.

Don't get me wrong I think Doherty is great for us, but from what I've seen the other 3 defenders have been better than him so far in the 3 games we've played.

Season's 'best' Championship team according to WhoScored.com

Al-Habsi
Yiadom - Dunk - Roberts - Doherty
Knockaert - Hourihane - Cairney - Ritchie
Kermogant - Zohore

Seems to have not enough Brighton, Newcastle (and no Huddersfield or Wednesday) players...and three from Barnsley? And Doherty? Really? Bit it is all based on a lot of statistics...but maybe the statistics just become bollocks. I dunno. There's definitely a few there that I'd have in my Championship-winning team of next season, but equally a couple I've really had to look up.

Al-Habsi has definitely been the best goalkeeper this season, most saves, with big saves in big games. No idea how Stockdale beat him to the official team of the season, easy with the best defence in front of you.

Kermorgant being there is not so surprising either. 19 goals from a striker who brings far more to the table than goals. Wins every header, brings others into play, defends all over the pitch. If we're winning he's often seen playing as a Centreback clearing the ball out of our box!

Ikr?

Doherty's score of 7.2 had me scratching my head a lot.

i'm laughing because a striker has scored 30 goals in this division and if he would have been playing for anyone else he'd be 100% be in the team of the season

hahahahahah

The amount of people earlier in this thread with McBigmac and Elphick in their teams makes me sad. I need not clarify about McBigmac, but Elphick has been rubbish too. :(

I had both unfortunately. How bad was Elphick?

Mac might have been alright if he could get his head around the functionalities of gates. Sounds like he missed a lot of training at Forest towards the end of the year too for one reason or another, car crash of a year.

Elphick looked shaky as hell every time he came into the team, made us look like conceding every time he was on the pitch. Slow, and looked scared of the ball half of the time. It was never a good sign when he was coming onto the field, whether starting or off the bench.
