We welcome Sheffield United to Sixfields in a game that could see them win promotion, barring some favourable results for them midweek. Our point at Dale sees us pretty much safe on 51 points, so hopefully we can play with some freedom and give the Blades a good game.

Expecting an absolutely thunderous reception for Chris Wilder and Alan Knill, no one has forgotten what they did for us over the course of 2 and a half seasons, and it's no surprise to any of a Cobblers persuasion that they look set to win another league title.

1-1, with that being enough for the Blades to go up, and Wilder/Knill to be celebrating another promotion at Sixfields at the same time, with our promotion confirmation coming at home this weekend last year.

Looking forward to coming down.

We'll be at it full pelt no matter what happens on Wednesday night.

Want that title and still can achieve 100 points although unlikely.

Similarly, we dropped away and only got 99 points last season, probably the only regret of a fantastic time. CW may use that to push you on when promotion is confirmed.

Can see a score draw similar to what occurred between us and Brizzle Rovers last season which was enough. Cue scenes in the away end.

We draw and Fleetwood win promotion is delayed till port vale. I personally think we will win tommorrow.

2-1 to the blades with Billy scoring the winner in the 88th minute. Not sure how many will be on the hill as were doing a beamback which 5k are attending. I've got tickets for either side or behind goal not sure which will be the best option I reckon I'll do behind the goal.

Glad I went behind the goal some great scenes yday. Days like that are why we all watch and love football. I don't think the pitch invasions would of gone down quite as well had it been at port vale next week but they were good natured imo i didnt see any pricks running on and goading you lot, im sure their may of been but saw no issues on the pitch. A bit of scrapping in your stand but if the blades in there weren't behaving they deserve a slap. All in all a brilliant day out.

Watched the game in the beamback in front of over 6,000 in the John Street stand.

First half was a but flat, both teams sparring seemingly happy keeping at 0-0, a fairly even first half Northampton just edging it .
The Cobblers scored on the stroke of half time.
H-T Cobblers 1 Blades 0

Second half was (as expected) played with more urgency. Seen these kind of matches many times this season. Blades losing, so no choice but to be positive and attack. Cobblers leading 1-0, so sitting back soaking up pressure and trying to hit us on the break.

United were starting to control the game and you could sense a goal was coming, so it was no surprise when we equalised. 1-1.
Then in the final 15 minutes, the Cobblers heads seem to drop and United were going for the win and stepped up the pressure.

Again you could sense a 2nd goal was coming as United looked a really good side in the last 20 minutes. We left it late and scored a deserved late winner.

Cobblers 1 Blades 2, fair result.
