Hi Blades supporters,
There are a few rumours that Chris Wilder has been offered the job at the Gate even though the bewildered one is still in situ at our place.
The rumour is that Wilder turned it down as he wanted to get 'his club' back up. I gather he's a boyhood Blade.
Anyone heard similar?

Why would any manager leave Sheff Utd who look nailed on for promotion to move to Bristol City who are fighting relegation and could go in the opposite direction.

He probably burst out laughing at the cheek of Bristol City thinking they might have a chance to persuade him.

He certainly wouldn't leave for Bristol City I wouldn't of thought unless they offered him some silly money which I suppose they maybe could. But I'm sure he'd leave for quite a few championship clubs in Newcastle,villa,Brighton, Leeds, Derby plus a few more possibly. On the other hand I doubt he will be going anywhere this season anyway.

My question wasn't about a City / Sheff Utd comparison, it was more about had you heard the same rumour.?
If there's any truth in it, it seems, rightfully, ominous for Lee Johnson but I am quite heartened to see a Manager decline an offer as he is a fan of the club he's currently with.

Wrong. It was January, you were indecisive about giving him a new deal and we offered him three years. He's a normal bloke with a family and mortgage, security is huge in the lower leagues.

Oh and we were 7 points adrift rooted to the bottom of the league when he joined.
