Madness that this signing was ever a possibility, thought he would be with us for many years to come. Monster signing for Wrexham, best centre half in this league without question.

I still can't quite believe that we offered Shaun Pearson nothing, absolute madness.

Good signing for Wrexham.

He's not that good though, is he? Wasn't he mainly used as a sub in Grimsby's promotion season?

Shaun Pearson signs on a two year deal.

Officially claiming the Going For It gong.
Shaun's League 2 quality and is a real fans' favourite for the community stuff he loves to get involved in. Solid signing for Wrexham.

Yes and a lot of us were bemused as to why. We had two known liabilities ahead of him in Toto and Gowling. Good players but they reek of mistakes. Shaun is the most consistent player I have ever seen in a Town shirt. 6 years and I can name his bad games on one hand.

No, he's not that good. Some people love to over-egg it. Gowling and Nsiala were two very good conference CBs though. Pretty difficult for any conference team to have two other centrebacks on their books better (or in better form) than Shaun. At 28, he's at a proper age for a CB too.

Very pleased with this. Hopefully we can have a couple more players of his calibre about the place.

Nice of him to take his little lad along to the photo shoot too.

He's not a world beater no but he was better than both of those and he is better than Danny Collins. The fact he was not our number 1 priority is mental.

Collins > Pearson > Toto > Gowling.

Would've had Pearson in ahead of Gowling last season. Shaun Pearson is perfect captain material too. Was certain he'd get a L2 club.

Really chuffed. We were told the budget had been increased to have a crack at it and it seems that is true. I hope we are in contention this season. The last few years have been difficult and I think we are due a few good times.

Hes a good centre back and will do well, but yes he is being over praised on her by our fans.

I'm not sure why we haven't offered him a new deal, probably something to do with the new Fenty who has learnt nothing from non league and will make rash decisions and gamble with trying to get us promoted above our time but more likely see us back in non league in a couple years.

Pearson is good enough for a mid table league 2 side and so was good enough for us, and is a good signing for Wrexham, but forget the football side, he was more than that, the amount of work he has done for the youth and football in the community was worth far more than whether he was good enough for a starting placein lge 2 and he will be a big loss because of that.

Richard Orlu was one Dover actually wanted to KEEP. Does that make this signing a bit of a COUP for us?

Bit of a clogger though ain't he.

I think he is the one rated as extremely crap by Barrow fans...

Orlu is shite although something of a cult hero at Crabble so a shame to see him go. We now have 3 or 4 players signed on for next season, two of whom have never played a minute at this level. Really getting worried now, what's going on?

More new contracts over the weekend mean we've re-signed the following so far:
Adam Buxton - 2 years
Liam Ridehalgh - 2 years
Jake Kirby - 1 year
Evan Gumbs - 1 year
Mitchell Duggan - 1 year
Steve McNulty - 1 year

The important thing is the fact that our entire defence (2nd best in the league), including young back-ups, was out of contract. 5 of them have re-signed, including 3 of the players you would consider 'starters'. Of the other 2, Vaughan may sign which just leaves Ihiekwe, who is probably off. Even still, we've got a really solid base to build on now, just need a little more pace at the back.
