Chester City have signed Danny Livesey.

For the third time in his career he could partner Simon Grand at centre-back. Those two must be near telepathic by now.

I liked Livesey when he was with us. But he was looking slow and old then and that was years ago.

Like McNulty, Livesey is slow but his reading of the game is so good that it doesn't matter. A great player, who probably could still do a job at National League level, it's probably just his fitness/injury record that is catching up with him.

He looked slow and old when he was in his early twenties. Think he was only 27 when we released him and I was surprised as I'd just assumed he was about 33 by that point.

One of only two or three ex-players who the fans still occasionally sing songs for.

Harrogate sign Scott Brown from Accrington. Unless he’s gone over the hill now, that’s a solid signing at this level.

Harrogate must be going for it. Brown played quite regularly for Accrington in League One last season and I've heard they've offered a lucrative deal to Michael O'Connor, whose not exactly on peanuts at Lincoln...

Livesey did well for us last season, as did Grand, they are getting on but do read the game well and both chip in with a few goals from set pieces. We actually deployed Grand at left back for the majority of last season before switching him back in to the middle for the last month or so. Grand in particular has actually looked fitter than ever recently.

Would still expect them to be used slightly more sparingly next season mind you, get some younger legs at the back as another option.

Good luck to Freddie, can't begrudge him with a move higher up the pyramid. Great going forward and the height he gets on his jumps is remarkable, for a short guy he's an aerial threat from set piece deliveries.

Real fan favourite with us even though he was only here for a season.

Second transfer I've correctly predicted - should actually predict we sign someone decent...

Anyway, Scott Quigley joins us and Dior Angus also signs up. That's all of our probable starting XI except a left-back signed up now.

They haven't signed O'Connor, he agreed a new deal with us yesterday.

Think it was bollocks anyway. O'Connor himself replied to the rumour on Twitter by saying it was news to him.

Quigley on a 3 year deal is sheer madness. He's a good striker but the guy is made of glass.

And we know mad 3 year deals when we see them.

It's certainly a surprise. Think it had to be that long for him to turn down other offers. Only time we've handed out a 3-year contract before, the final year was dependant on appearances etc. There must be breaks in the contract if he's injured long-term, otherwise it's insane.

If Quigley plays for you like he did for us, you'll be disappointed. Very rarely won a header despite his height. Weak, and immobile. Was a tie between him and Sanmi Odelusi as the biggest flop of the season in my opinion.

On the other hand, if he plays like he did against Wrexham when he actually looked bothered since he seemingly loves Wrexham so much, then he might do ok. Any way you look at it, a 3 year deal at this level is bizarre

He is weak considering the size of him. He is quite a selfish player but his finishing is quality off either foot. I would have taken him back on a 1 year deal, because it seems that we are the club that he just fits at and can get him playing his best because his “football father” is a coach here.

But his hamstrings just aren’t going to last long playing 3 times every week for the first few months of the season.

Good player Quigley. He’s a bit greedy at times because he thinks he’s better than he actually is, but he’s a decent finisher (well, he was for us anyway). Incredibly risky giving him 3 years with his injury record though. Could backfire massively if he gets injured quickly, especially as I can’t see him being on small wages. So hopefully you’re not relying on him to stay fit because you’ve put all your eggs in one basket.

we had 2 strikers (If you count hindle as a striker not a winger) for most of last season - we already have 4 signed up for next season

I thought Quigley would be on his way here but the 3 year deal must've swayed it. We would've only offered him a year.

I quite like the lad.

Just out of interest, where is all this injury talk coming from? Looking purely at stats etc, he played 17 games after signing for Wrexham in January (decent amount of playing time?), and then 27 times last season when most of that was sat on the bench at Port Vale - no lengthy spells out in the past two seasons???

Do you think you’ll hold onto Hindle? I thought a league club would look at him. I also thought he’d be someone that we’d look at, because he should be.

He’s one of those players who always picks up little niggly injuries that rule him out for a few games, which is frustrating if the team is hitting form. Can make you lose all momentum. It’s mostly been hamstring issues I think.

Hammys have gone... he would play a few games, then sit out a few.

Fair enough, but that was over a year ago he was with you - and I'd hope anything major would be picked up by a medical before offering him a 3-year deal. Still, this is Barrow...

Anyone scouting him would have noticed that he's not got the fitness to last 90 mins and really struggles when he's lacking confidence. A decent option to have, but his goal tally masked over his shortcomings. He's definitely not League standard.

Quigley isn't very good and I'm confident his decent spell at Wrexham was the exception rather than the rule. A three-year deal is ridiculous.

He thinks an awful lot of himself as well which is bizarre given he's not achieved anything other than that short spell at Wrexham. Even then he only scored eight and he ended the season with just one goal in nine.

already signed up for next season. you missed your chance when we plucked him from Colwyn Bay.... perhaps our scouting in Wales is better than Wrexham's is?

We’ve signed Joan Luque who was at Lincoln Last season, seems like a decent enough signing. Also Matt Robinson signs a new deal.
