There's a good reason for it. The rest of team was all under 26 essentially. Needed experience

Midfielder Matt Buse has now signed for us, having been with us all preseason. Ex-Yeovil youth and seemed to be well thought of by Taunton fans last season. Looks like a decent backup utility option with potential.

Local paper says they're expecting two or three loanees to join this afternoon as well.

Yeah. And that has been proved not to work time and time again.

Yeah we appear to have signed some decent players....but on the whole we’re little bit on the ancient side, especially in midfield.

Three loan signings have now been confirmed. We're now looking a lot stronger overall than we were a week ago.

We've signed Mo Touray on loan from Newport, initially for one month. Looks like a promising striker and will add some more pace to the team.

Connor Lemonheigh-Evans and Opi Edwards have both returned back on loan from Bristol City. Fantastic couple of loan signings. Edwards is pacey, and can cover pretty much anywhere on the right side, and CLE was fantastic in the middle of midfield last season, a real coup to get him back on loan.

One of our best signings of the summer confirmed today with Will Evans signing a new contract with us. One of the shining lights from a torrid 18/19 season and deservedly won our Player of the Year.

Doubt he’ll ever top his moment of the year from last season though. Heading home a 95th Minute equaliser against Eastleigh, before our goalkeeper got sent off in the 96th minute, giving a penalty away in the process. Evans pulled the GK shirt on, and saved the 97th minute penalty!! Never seen anything like it and doubt I ever will again

Can't believe we've got CLE back, best player in the NLS last year and easily good enough to be playing in the league I think.

We’ve signed winger Danny Williams. Ex Accrington, Inverness and Dundee. Scored in our 0-1 win at Oldham as a trialist midweek. Ran the show by the sounds of it so hopefully we’ve got a good’un.

Slowly but surely we are getting there. Get left-back sorted and we should be fine.

He is steady. Was hung out to dry by Aspin last season and thrown in at right back where he was awful.
As a centre half wasn't that bad at all.
Wish him well at County seems a good character as he was transfer listed but his attitude in pre season convinced Askey to give him another chance.

Sounds good - we just need steady really. Well, mostly we need physical presence.

That s encouraging, a decent lad is important to us as it's sounds like we had a nightmare dressing room last season.
If we play a back three of Rawlinson, Turner ,Bird we shouldn't be far off the standard needed. Tootle at right back, McCrory at left back sounds quite good on paper.

He's a big lad, not particularly stocky.
Was a regular until Aspin sacked.
Sure Wrexham were linked in the summer.
Leaves us short now for cover at CH but that's Askeys call.
Hope he does well mate , no slagging him off and saying he's shit from me .

Looks like we've signed Sam Graham as well. I think Bird will be dropped, which is really harsh IMO. Would rather we gave him a chance having proven he's capable than shunt him behind a loanee.

Can see Tootle leaving, Ardley just doesn't seem a big fan of him. Would be a real shame.

I think you're right that he'll drop Bird and I agree he's good enough and will get better with games and after watching Ardley interviewed after York he rolled his eyes over Toots glutes and probably thinks he's high maintenance.
He was also dire last season, he just never got to the winger and stopped crosses coming in.

I’m hoping we might see some tomorrow night with Crawford or Kellett coming in for Doyle.

Anyway, Rawlinson sounds a solid enough signing, and Graham - as I said elsewhere son of the boxer Herol ‘Bomber’ Graham definitely doesn’t seem to lack for physical presence!

Connell was harshly treated by fans, I thought he did a job but wasn’t a right back, that said only really Lincoln in the 6-2 debacle was he really bad. I’m glad he’s got a decent club where he should feature regularly. He’s a good lad.
