Lost our County Cup semi-final with higher-level St. Neots Town last night. Drew 2-2 after an excellent and dominant second half performance, but just lost out in the shoot-out.

Slightly disappointing, but not a disaster as it was such a good performance, hopefully one we can build on in the league on Saturday.

It's the big one on Tuesday night as Pools go to Darlo in the county cup or whatever it's called.

Is anyone really bothered about this? Personally, I think the rivalry is dead.

They're frothing at the mouth at the chance to play our youth team, bless, sold like 1,200 tickets, last count on our end was about 150.

Wrexham ceased competing in their own County Cup when new rules said they had to play in their county league too.

We're playing Selby on Monday. Apparently its a huge game and they're appealing for the town's people to turn out and back them. They already know we're sending our academy side......…..:dk:

Nope, I somehow don't think anybody will be losing any sleep over this game. I for one won't be standing in sub-zero temperatures freezing my bollocks off on Tuesday night.

Surrey Senior Cup QF draw:

  • Colliers Wood United vs. Tooting and Mitcham United
  • Walton Casuals vs. Chertsey Town
  • Metropolitan Police or Merstham vs. Kingstonian
  • Banstead Athletic or AFC Wimbledon vs. Egham Town or Woking
Merstham plz... Met Police are surprisingly doing well & have adapted to their sideways shift to the Southern League. Then the winner of CWU v T&M or WC v CT in the semi final. Then the junior Wombles or Woking in the final. That'll be nice.

Kind of glad that our academy team* avoided a trip to Walton Casuals.

(*depends on Dos’ mood in the days leading up to a SSC tie)

Comprehensively outclassed Darlo 2-1 tonight with two late goals. Fielded a stronger team than I expected us to (not that any current Pools side could be classed as 'strong')

Interesting to see the crowd was bigger than their average. To demonstrate this strong rivalry on the Poolie end, we took 150 odd.

They were at home in the last round and had less than 250, says it all really, all came out to watch a full time team play some soccer in their rugby ground, bless em, they looked so happy at 1-0 going by the twitter vid's :fl:

I really didn't pay much attention to the game apart from check twitter a couple of times but I must say the way they fell apart at the end did make me chuckle.

Maidstone/Gillingham in the semi final of the Kent Cup

We can expect Kent Police will be out in full force again treating it like its bloody Millwall/West Ham.

Willis of Gillingham is already looking forward to it after the last time...

Sounded like we couldn't be bothered last night, even with a fairly strong side out with McDonald, Whitely, Weston and Rance all featuring. Backline made up of academy lads though, along with poor old Jon Miles in goal.

London Senior Cup has now reached the semi-final stage:

Harrow Borough v Welling United
Brentford B v Dulwich Hamlet

Gutted that our semi won't be at Griffin Park, Brentford asked to play at Champion Hill and DHFC and the London FA agreed, although Brentford have generously declined to take their share of the gate.

305 attendance to watch Brackley Town vs Brackley Town Saints in the semi-final of the Northants County Cup.

Cue chants of 'you're supposed to be at home' et al - both sides obviously use the same ground - and 'Saints' (Brackley Town's nickname, after which the Brackley Town Saints are named) etc.

1-0 win for Brackley Town on a wet miserable night. Weird all-round.

Won 4-2 at Matlock Town in the Derbyshire Senior Cup Semi Final tonight.

A very poor first half again but this time in a role reveresal to Saturday we completely turned it around thanks to a Styche brace, Danny O Brien`s first for the club and a late fourth from Bobby Johnson.

No idea where that second came from but we MUST take that in to the league otherwise it means nothing. 12 goals in 18 game now for Styche plus 2 Red Cards

We fielded a first team (reserve GK) last night in the Q/F of the Cheshire Cup and exited the competition at Nantwich. It's a good job we had an 11-games unbeaten run in the autumn otherwise we'd be looking over our shoulder. George Green who was supposed to be the Messiah was sent off and fans are calling for him to be dumped.

We're through to the final of the Lancashire Junior Trophy after turning over Ashton Athletic last night. A showdown with Colne at Bolton's ground awaits.

Meanwhile in the Liverpool Senior Cup we've drawn Rylands away in the semi-final. Such glamour.

Angels host Bromley tonight in the S-F of the Kent Cup. Let's hope Bromley send down their kids for a bit of experience.... last time the Angels won the KC was way back in 1975(ish).

No matter how atrocious Maidstone are in the league, we can always rely on beating Gillingham.
Pub quiz question. How many years since the Gills actually beat the Stones?

In fairness, Gills have NEVER beaten this incarnation of Maidstone as they've only existed since 1992, and we've never played each other in a competitive fixture! Some may claim the KSC is competitive, but any match that you're allowed to play trialists in can't be taken too seriously....
