Coutinho or Barkley.

Who would you sooner have in your lineup?

Best team in the league
We shouldn't have sold Allen, he was cracking backup. But he was going to struggle for games with Henderson, Lallana and Coutinho automatic starters so keeping him for the bench wouldn't have been fair. I'm really glad he's doing well though.
He is mediocre at best. If he was decent, in the modern squad game he would have got sufficient games. Klopp could clearly see that.

Sod Coutinho or Barkley, that isn't even up for debate anymore.

Coutinho or Hazard is perhaps the better question.

Don't expect anything else from you two!

It's closer than many will make out though but Hazard probably does just edge it at the moment. He's inconsistent though, something Coutinho had been ripped for in the past.

He was only inconsistent under Mourinho, a manager that stifled his attacking ability even after being PFA player of the year under Jose. Conte is giving him more freedom.

Barkley turned 23 yesterday. He's still young, but I think it's fair to say he's hugely struggling to fulfill his potential.

Indeed. 23 isn't old as a footballer, obviously, it's still 4-5 years off peak. But these days players who are viewed at a young age as massive future potentials have already shown why and are starting to fulfill it by that age. Barkley simply hasn't and, judging by Smudge's comments on him, unless he changes his attitude it's possible he never will.

Barkley did look an exciting talented player when he came through. Think he needs a move to kick on once again otherwise he could just fade away.

So you believe Barkley who has 2 goals and 1 assist is miles ahead of Coutinho who scored 5 and has 5 assists. Do you care to explain why?

Well let me break it down for you. I'm Swedish but I move about a lot, Pags is the only one you could actually call a scouser but he lives in Milton Keynes (yeah I know). Allouso lives in Libanon, G-Dragon in the United States, not sure where. Who else is there. Right, Salts is scottish and Danbyl is from Cheshire. MBR is a scouser though I think. I don't know, he doesn't come on here very often.

So now you can use this against us individually. All the best mate, good luck.

Without doubt Coutinho. Had a Liverpool fan mate berating Coutinho a couple of seasons back disagreeing with me at the time but, oh how he changed his tune and saw what I meant when he wasn't playing. Once he realised just what he does off the ball as well as on it. He is such a key player for Liverpool. His movement off the ball is exemplary. He is so influential and so clinical. The key reason I'd choose Coutinho over Hazard is his overall game is better and he contributes so much more to the team as a whole. Not that I like to wax lyrical about Liverpool players, but if I was an opposition manager (hypothetically speaking of course) and Hazard and Coutinho were in the same side. I'd be happier if Coutinho was not playing than Hazard. I'm not doing down Hazard, but he didn't bother to turn up for most of 2015/16 season. Which in itself is a decider. Coutinho has been consistently good - excellent. Hazard is erratic, enigmatic. Can be brilliant, can be meh!

Coutinho signs a new 5 year deal, reportedly worth £150k a week making him the highest paid player at the club. Should keep him with us for at least a couple more seasons. I wonder what that wage will do to the other players. The likes of Lallana, Mane and Henderson are bound to want increases in the coming seasons.

Excellent news for Liverpool - especially because they've made sure not to include a release clause in the contract. Either he stays for years or he gets sold for massive money.

Will probably get another year from him then he can get his Barca move as he hits his peak.
