It was a pre Xmas performance tonight. What really pisses me off is we have been the polar opposite to that shit tonight in recent weeks and after a big result Friday I expected us to come out pumped and fighting tooth and nail as they had been doing but with the extra confidence.

We are really struggling personell wise too which is worrying. We are losing two players a game to injury (Hooper in the warm up which cost us any chance in the game) and Purkiss went off injured leaving us with Reg who hasn't played in months and a kid we've had out on loan at Kidsgrove Athletic this season as our only forward options and a football league debutant in the middle... all this despite our 35 man squad.

We also lose Shopido to Ireland duty Saturday too so we are looking at Saturday without:

Purkiss
Hooper
Shopido
Forrester
Walker
Guy
De Freitas
Thomas
Yates
Knops
Pugh
Amoros

Pretty much every attacking or midfield player out bar Eagles, Foley, Taylor and Big Reg.

Fanfuckingtastic!

Abject, shameful, embarrassing, disgusting.
The least you expect with 2 animals like Brown and Morgan on the coaching staff is 100 % effort and determination, sadly lack any characters and deserve to go down.

Summed it up to my work colleagues this morning...

The scene is that the company is on the verge of going under (it isn't but to explain my arsey mood today)...

I'm on 3k a week, turn up and doss around all day all whilst 600 people pay £50-60 of their own money to see it.

Vale fans rightly venting on the forum... most rating last night as one of the top 5 worst they've seen and most old enough to post on forums would hjave experienced Glover's era!

Can't expect too much with virtually a whole team out injured, but I at least expected some fight after recent results. If the team is tired now then we have big problems.

I've gone from renewed confidence to fairly depressed overnight.

What's most disappointing is that it's so predictable. I said on here before the game that this is a typical Vale thing to let teams who are at their lowest ebb have a gimme three points and they duly obliged.

If it were me in the team, I would have been chomping at the bit to get out there against a team who haven't won in a while and haven't scored in 4 games and look to absolutely paste them. For 75 minutes it genuinely looked like we didn't care. Our mentality for about 20 years has been so poor - even in the promotion season we did our best to throw it away with some pitiful performances. We've got no leaders in the mould of Aspin, Swann, Porter, who would have taken everyone by the scruff of the neck and given them a kick up the arse. Our captain barely speaks and our other vice captain tries but is very quiet.

We haven't got the killer instinct, any other team would be full of confidence after a couple of good results recently but we just don't have the desire to continue good runs and it's been like this for a number of years.

As others have said, we deserve to go down and if we do, we'll go straight through and become a Stockport as the chairman will not have the desire to spend money in the league below.

Good post and agree entirely. It was almost like games during Rob Pages era when we had the chance to get into the top 6... every time we would be in a shitter such as the 3-0 at Chesterfield.

We had players on the pitch who are experienced enough to lead, Ryan Taylor, Foley, Eagles, Purkiss... these guys have to take responsibility.

It was a real bad night, even someone as reliable as Foley who I cant recall having bad games had a stinker, usually after a shocker I will sleep on it and wake up more philosophical about it but I am as angry and disgusted this morning as I was at 9:40 last night!

Things coming out today on OVF are adding to the worries for our very future not just this season but next. When can we just get some stability... I am tired of the Emmervale soap opera that's been played out for years now.

I'm sure you've got the razor blades and My Chemical Romance album in preparation in case we DO stay up.

Not at all.
Just saying it as I see it.
If your side's good enough you'll stay up.
Not sure your side is though.
We'll see.
