Ended up getting a ticket for this in the end, so no need to sit in with the Crewe fans.

We turned up against Oxford City expecting to walk all over them, and we ended up being very lucky to get a replay. If we play like that on Saturday Crewe will win. The two games before that though against Crawley, and Exeter we proved we can mix it with anyone in this league. With Cole in behind Norwood and Banks and Mchullogh in the centre, we look dangerous. So who knows what Tranmere will turn up.

Should be a good atmosphere with us selling out what we were given. Ill go for a 1-1 draw, Norwood with our goal obviously.

Big game for Artell. Whilst a defeat won't see him fired, a 5th straight loss on the trot will probably see the majority of the fans support for him disappear and things could turn poisonous. He doesn't seem to have a clue what his best formation or starting XI are. He's mixing between a 4-4-2 and a 4-3-3 and nothing seems to work for long.

Really not sure what he should do with this one. Doesn't really matter, because unless the players perform, they won't get a result. I'd happily take a point, especially with 3 easier(on paper) games to come after this.

We'll be improved by the return of McCulloch, while other changes may be made in the light of the disappointing cup game with Oxford City. Zoum returning at left-back against a former club looks likely. I'm thinking draw.

We have an awful record at Crewe, we always seem to trade home wins with each other. 3-2 Crewe

I've only ever seen us win at Crewe. The most surreal was the one where we were 4-0 up after 14 rainy minutes. There were people still turning up, and the rest of the game was turd.

Personal highlight is the 4-3 game on new year's day, whatever year that was. Amazing game, but we naturally lost in the end...

I have been going to Gresty Road since 1988 and that is the only win I have seen. Scott Taylor scored a couple of unlikely goals as I remember.

I've only been a couple of times to be fair... the 4-1 and a 2-0 win not long after that. Not been since!

Haven’t seen Tranmere win at Crewe since Jim Steel scored from near the half line with a bicycle overhead kick in 1990. Although I’ve been unfortunate enough to witness all our defeats there since.
The only other time I’ve seen Tranmere win at Crewe was on the penultimate day of the 1982/83 season when a blonde mullet haired Barry Wellings scored the only goal of the game with a sublime half volley from 25 yards out, thus resulting in us not having to apply for re election back into the football league.
Can’t make it tomorrow, I’m in Asia. Hoping we take something away from this game as our recent record at Gresty is not good!

Looking forward to tomorrow. Haven`t been to Gresty Road for years. I`ve seen us win there quite a few times. Should be interesting crowd wise with us selling out a week ago and many ticketless fans travelling hoping to pay in on the day, mainly because we were given nowhere near enough tickets. Just why we were given less tickets than Port Vale for example is beyond me given our league position, the distance involved and the increase in travelling support this season. Only giving us one stand when there is two available in a stadium likely to be half empty just doesn`t add up to me. One thing is certain we are sure going to wake the normally quiet Alexandra Stadium up if my only another away game this season at Morecambe is anything to go by.

If the real Tranmere turns up we will win this at a canter. Can’t afford a lazy display like we put on in the FA Cup. Expecting something in between. Tranmere goal at the end of each half.

2-0 Rovers. Norwood, Cole

On a side note I saw we had the 5th most banning orders issued to our fans last season (15). I can’t think why other than maybe the flares set off in away games..

I don't recall Tranmere ever bringing as many as Vale, don't even remember you selling the usual 1,600. You had the option of more initially but your club declined, so then it was too late. If any Tranmere are in the home end then hopefully they sit on their hands and keep quiet.

As for the game, we'll play badly and you'll smash us.

Our away support has increased during our time in the VNL where we had several away games with more fans than the home club. We have averaged something 750 at away games this season and that includes a trip to Yeovil and a midweek game at FRG. We took a thousand plus to Stevenage and nearly 1500 to Morecambe. There was never a doubt we were going to sell out for this game and would have sold the full 2200 if that many tickets had been made available.

I hope it was an abundance of caution from the Palioi in not taking up the larger ticket allocation rather than trying to rake in Ifollow money. As stated a number of Rovers fans are going in the Crewe end, which I hope doesn’t lead to any trouble.

On the FBOs issued against Tranmere fans, which Tranmerewhite mentions, I’m surprised as courts seem very reluctant to make these orders.

Not as confident as some about today. Having the erratic Carl Boyeson as referee doesn’t help.

Looked like an error from Scott Davies for the Crewe goal. Well taken leveller from Norwood for Rovers.

I’m at the end Crewe are attacking first half and they look dangerous going forward. Unsure how this is going to pan out....

Thank the gods for that. Badly needed win, home form our saviour once again. Ainley gets his first goals since January and his first home goals since last December if memory serves. Kirk also back in on the act after a dry spell.

As I said above, 3 on paper easier games down, all against likely mid table teams, with 2 of them at home. Vital we get a decent haul with some very tough fixtures over Xmas and New Year.

Crewe looked half-decent on that showing, your no 11 looking a bit of a live wire and for the most part tried to play a passing game. Rovers defensively brittle and don’t think the manager got his tactics or adjustments right today. Lack of fight from a few of our lads today as well.

I enjoyed that game. It was a bit like the old Championship days.

Well that was underwhelming.

A poor Crewe side that only managed a handful of shots against an out of sorts Tranmere that were wasteful.

Clearance off the line first half by the Crewe defender probably stopped us going on to dominate the game, but we just didn’t have the roll of the dice today.

Charlie Kirks histrionics were utterly embarrassing and somehow got two of our players booked who weren’t even near him.

Summed up a day in which a Crewe steward chose to assault a young Tranmere fan and police wondered why the fans got angry.

Salty post. You lost because we put in a good performance and outplayed you, also Zoumana plays for you. Ainley sent him for a hot dog.

You were much the better side and deserved to win by a couple of goals. However, Bakayogo has been a good servant to us over a number of years so your comment - and your manager's snidey dig - are wide of the mark.

We need to get back to the basics of pressing out of possession and playing a simple ball in midfield rather than attempting a Hollywood pass, or we will slide down the league. Our squad is not so good that we can try and coast through games like we have the last two.

Looks like a couple of good home wins have gone to the players heads a bit... I'd call it a lazy performance, with lots of finger pointing and allowing Crewe all the space in the world and bring down high balls completely unchallenged. No sour grapes from me, the best team won, Crewe knocked it around nicely and managed the game well at the end. Stewards were out of order assaulting the lad for celebrating a goal though, and the attempt at enforcing the reserved seating policy was a joke. Another frustrating trip to Crewe, long may they continue...

We should be used to being called poor, think every team that’s lost has had a fan saying the same thing. I actually thought Tranmere were one of the worst sides to come to Crewe this season, and expected more from them, and the keeper was crap.

Wintles clearance in the first half was incredible, as seemed to be under the crossbar at the time. Still a decent win though at the end.

We got the performance from him today that I have come to expect. I well remember him from when we where in the EFL before and he has not improved one iota. He has to be the worst ref in this league. He`s not even good enough for the VNL

What did Artell say about Zoum? Thought that he did a better job of policing Ainley than Buxton would manage, but it wasn't his finest hour.

Didn't see the assault on our fan after the goal, but the body searches going into the ground seemed a bit excessive. Stewards told us when we got in to sit in the reserved seats, which was done without any problem. One or two idiots in the Rovers end nearest the Railway end were spending more time goading Crewe fans than watching the game.:told:

He said he told Ainley he would have an easy game when he saw who he was up against.

I was very disappointed in Tranmere, expected much more. When we played with pace and knocked the ball about they couldn’t live with it. Ainley had Bakayogo on toast all game. Certainly his best game for a while, but that said I agree with Artell he won’t play against many full backs as bad as Zoom.

Doesn’t sound like Zoom had the best of games yesterday. Crewe fans I’ve spoken to didn’t rate him at Gresty. So I was full of trepidation when I heard we were signing a Crewe cast off during the summer. The last player we signed from Crewe was unmitigated disaster Adam Dugdale. Pleased to say though Zoom has done a reasonably good job for us thus far and must be our best signing from Crewe since Mark Palios!
