If anyone has spare time this thread on the message board pretty much is where part of the investigation that has been released to the public domain has been house, and still houses posts that have led to the threats from individuals against this posters family and work.

Really is dosgraceful, we all know who is behind this and I am sure that their time will come. My stance of "not a penny more" is further justified

Sounds pretty shocking irrespective of who you support.

Like anything, you always know something is wrong if you're sending people round to silence supporters who care about their club and always the best for them is pretty shocking.

I'd be really concerned

A similar thing happened at Crawley a few years ago. The, then, owners sent the the "management" lookalikes around to a supporters house, sent the boys to a supporters club meeting to intimidate and a few other nefarious activities.

These things always come out and the plod always gets upset when private security firms take on their role of intimidating the public. The point is it is always darkest before the dawn. We finally got rid of our chuckle brothers and a year or so later we received the investment that everyone hates us for. I have a tenuous connection to Chesterfield and I'm hoping this is true for Chesterfield too.

Good luck

Casey

I think it has all gone too far now. The local media are also running scared for whatever reason and won't be running a story on this at all. I think other than police involvement, the next step is to try and get some national coverage.

If it shames the football club then so be it. Their is many who would rather see the club go to the wall and start again than put another penny into the current regime.

Season ticket sales down 75% apparently from around 4450 to 1100 which speaks volumes. I think us and Coventry are having a competition of who can sell the least by the sounds of things

I was going to give some similaritys to Keith Haslam but he actually proved that MTFC could make money, considering he's took Millions from us by now.

I really don't want Chesterfield to fold, a nice reality check being in the conference for five years would do!

What sort of budget is going to be available this summer?

It's reduced but we have got some big earners like Ebanks Blake, Martinez, O'Shea, Gardener, Dan Jones etc off the wage bill.

Think last season it was around 1.8m though some claim it's actually higher but we know it is less this season coming. My guess is 1.5/1.6m which will put us about 10th-12th maybe in this league?

Might be a bit higher, but usually you have 10 odd teams with hardly any difference in budget size.

Young stags fan here, and i understand the rivalry between us and that were supposed to hate each other... whilst i do dislike chesterfield for simply being our rivals i do not want the club to disappear.
Most of my time supporting stags has been us being terrible and owned by Haslam so all i really know is doom and gloom and its really not nice. Drop into the conference if you like but don't go bust of drop as far as teams like york, that'd be no fun. Just let us have some time in league one and near the championship then come back up and lets be proper rivals haha.

I do think chesterfield will struggle this year, but look forward to visiting the tesco stadium and hope for some good games.

Latest fun and games ha culminated in the CEO last night direct messaging a fan calling him a c**t

All hell breaks loose and this morning the CEO deletes his twitter account claiming he was hacked. Mr Ashley Carson AKA the puppet of Dave Allen is the man in question. Utterly embarrassing, the mans position is now untenable in my eyes, you can't go off like that in his role, despite how many red wines he may have had

He's then proceeded to follow this up by DM'ing a 15 year old lad calling him a twat, his dad is understabdly not that impressed. Could have some legs this now. Twitter account has gone and he released a statement saying he was hacked..maybe once, but twice a month apart makes that story look very daft. Lies Lies and more Lies.

They managed to hold a testimonial match for a Chesterfield (and Mansfield) legend that failed to disclose the money and also did a fake lottery, if that counts.

It's like us under Haslam!

Not a scandal, but I find our new incentive funny. Every 25th shirt with o'grady at the back gets a free ST. Someone on the site worked out that if you bought 25 on the spot and then sold them all at like 40 quid a pop, you'd save money on your ST. Hats off to anyone who tries it though and is confident enough in shifting 25 shirts at retail price :bg:

Uncle Dave has taken us off the market and decided to review the situation at the end of the 2017/18 season after being impressed by Caldwells pre season work, squad building and professionalism...

Let's see where we go from here then. Personally I think this is a positive, because as long as Dave Allen is on side then our clubs future isn't in doubt. Be interesting to see if he can rekindle his passion for our club over the season

It really beggars belief just how much wool Dave Allen has pulled over his eyes allowing all these clowns to run a football club with his money.
Why it took so long to get rid of Turner is laughable. Every Spireite I know laid a lot of blame on his doorstep, yet he still remained in a job.
Wasn't his academy venture the one that took a load of money from academy kids parents for a trip that never materialised? Did they ever get that money refunded?

Christ, Chris Turner and Liam Sutcliffe were dodgy as hell (allegedly).

It really does begger belief. I hope the national press and the EFL pick this up and take us to the cleaners. It's the only way we are likely to see the back of these idiots if their position becomes untenable.

What on earth are we doing? One thing after another.

You can't oust Dave Allen though unfortunately, as that would easily result in the demise of your club, he's owed too much and Wednesday fans have seen first hand how he reacts when he spits his dummy out.....and he supposedly is/was a Wednesdayite.
If Carson and his cohorts are kicked out, it then means Allen either has to take the reigns solely by himself, or go out and recruit new people to run the football club for him whilst he loiters around in the background.
Considering he recruited Turner in the first place, and he's universally disliked at the Prozac, neither option is a rosey one.

The local MP has been on the case recently has has posted this really frank written interview with Allen

I promised to try and speak to Dave Allen and report back, which I have now done.

When I asked DA why the first takeover had not gone through, he replied ; "Because they hadn't got any money". He described the potential buyers as 'tyre kickers' and 'time wasters'. When I discussed the specific offer that had been made and accepted, he denied that an offer had been accepted. When I told him that I had seen paperwork which suggested that the offer had been accepted, he said that it hadn't been accepted by him. It didn't have his name on it, and so it had never been accepted.

He explained that he had met with the buyers but found their initial offer derisory, and told them where the door was, though other directors report the meeting as 'a good meeting'.

AC maintains that the offer had been accepted with DA's approval.

DA said that no proof of funds had ever been received and that the amount of money that the potential buyers were able to demonstrate access to was a long way short of what was required.

Finally, on takeovers he said that he was now close to a new deal to buy the club being agreed that they had shaken hands on the deal and that he expected it to go through in relatively short time. He described this deal 'as much better for the club' and said 'fans should be careful what they wish for'.

I also asked him about the sustainability of the club long term, and he said that in the event of relegation he would continue to keep the club going, but that it would need to run with a much lower budget than 'the third highest budget in League 2'.

We had a long discussion about the events that surrounded him ceasing to be a Director. What came across most strongly was his continued and deep seated resentment about 'the fans bawling out Dean Saunders' he referred to it on a couple of occasions, and said that DS would have been a good Manager and that fans hadn't given him a chance and that other Directors had never been behind the appointment. He claimed that Danny Wilson was 'the fans choice and look how that ended' and clearly felt very bitter about the entire affair.

He also spoke about having been libelled and said that one person was in very big trouble for saying things that weren't true. He said 'if he lives in a house, he'll soon be living in a tent."

He also felt that Chesterfield fans hadn't turned out in the numbers he expected, he said Rotherham would have got 8,000 when we were only getting 5' I said that I thought the support was similar to Rotherham in similar circumstances. he said to 'look it up'. [In actual fact in the first season in the new stadium, average crowd was almost 7000 and in Rotherham's first season in their new stadium, their average was almost 8,000 so 1,000 apart but not 3,000].

I clarified with him that he was happy for me to go public with everything that had been discussed, and he said that he was.

He really is a cretin. We are in so much trouble with him and Carson at the helm.

This all sounds familiar.... Chris Turner is with us also, seems to have gone down well at the SC meeting though.

If you replaced Dave Allen with Ray Trew I'd swear blind you would be talking about Notts a year or so ago!

Is Dave Allen related to Keith Haslam? So many parallels it's untrue.

Sorry state of affairs for Chesterfield. Hope you get through it all. Whatever the rivalry, i would never want to see any team going under.

After an interesting AGM on Monday in which the CEO was called a liar by the chairman and contradicted everything said it has now come out that Allen has agreed to sell the club to another consortium away from the initial Chinese bidd being touted.

This one is fronted by ex Sheffield United trio Reg Brierley, Briane Deane and Brian Marwood. Sounds like an absolute car crash looking on google at Reg's history.
