He's one of those players whose stats make them seem better than what they are. I've seen you claim that you don't watch any BPL games anymore so I take it you're judging his United performances purely on stats? IMO we'd be a better team without him in it.

I certainly do not watch the BPL any longer, however with circa 23 years football watching experience, I think I know what a good footballer looks like.

For the first time in my life I had to google "premier league player ratings" just because I knew for once, as abhorrent as they are, these type of BPL nonsense website would even back me up on this. And it did.

Who are these players better than Mata then cha? I'm all ears...

Not really sure why I'm getting these responses from the King of spin

I first stated that Moyes spent plenty of money at United contry to claims and got a reply about Mata being our best player.

I then replied that it was a uneccesary signing at the time and again got a reply about Mata's quality.

Someone really atruggles to follow an argument.

Oh and De Gea and Smalling are both comfortably better than Mata in their respective positions. There are a few players such as Martial, Schneirderlin, Herrera and Shaw before he was injured who are around the same level.

The president of Sociedad brought in the players he wanted and not what Moyes did which was always a recipe for disaster and helped make sure he'd struggle this season. At least when he was at Manoo you were fun to watch as you never knew what would happen. Far better than having to suffer through the drudge van hoof plays. It's like watching paint dry, even the rest of the Manoo members do something else other than watch their team under these days (ask Stevencc in particular).

I love how people claim to definitively know who sanctioned transfers. It's like Liverpool fans at times seem to claim any success as a Rodgers signing and any failure for the 'transfer committee'.Whatever the chairmans influence I don't beleive he completely overruled the man he was by his own words desperate to bring in. Moyes would have at least have had a veto if he really didnt want them. Personally I dont buy it, just excuses for him again.

Weird to be telling a United fan that football was better under Moyes. For people who hate United sure it was fun seeing us struggle to a draw with Fulham after putting a million crosses in or seeing us rolll over within twenty minutes to any half Arsenal.

But for United fans the football was even more turgid than now.We were creating just as little and largely relied on set pieces and getting to the byline as much as possible. To be honest I quite enjoy us now. I'd like us to create more chances and I can see while the neutral might hate us. But when I watch United I enjoy seeing u have the ball, Right now we have it for a long time and win it back quickly through our excellent pressing. We get into plenty of goood situations but that last 1 or two bits of good play is missing. It's going to come together at some point.

De Gea I would agree with, I meant to say outfield player. As for Michael Smalling, he's had a good 3 months for the most boring, negative and defensively set up side in the BPL, so excuse me if I say the jury is still out on that one.

And why it does not surprise me to hear you actually enjoy this style of football? Well you're not paying to watch it for one are you? I can just imagine you now set in your local bar room in China, with your Chevrolet shirt on, reserved seat for every game as a "real Manchester football expert", the locals scurrying about bring you your next Chang as they ask you for stories about the great Wayne Rooney.

You sort of people make me sick.

This isn't a reflection on the accuracy of this as I see it, but I did laugh reading that.

Could say the same about any of these types, i think people who live in the south who support Liverpool or Utd are probably the worse

Ah the spin tactics diddn't work so now you'll learch to personal attacks based on your imaginary characterisation. Only one type of football fan makes me sick, those who think they are better than others based on the club they support and the reasons they do so. That goes for United fans who love to laud their success over others as much as for fans of non league clubs and anything inbetween.

Just for the record I havent worn a replica shirt since I was about 8 and I tend not to tell people who I support right off the bat given A , I don't want to be thrown in with the kind of people you are talking about and b, I can't be arsed being lectured about how I should support my local club by some guy who is lucky enough to have a local club somewhere high up in the league system and claims everyone must see football exaxtly as he sees it.

Also Smalling 3 months. Try again.

The thing is, as I've said before, he's likely the biggest armchair on here. The man doth protest too much and all that. What's worse, someone who doesn't go to matches or someone who doesn't go to matches but pretends they do?

More talk of Monk getting the boot. Whether it's fair or not, this could be perfect for Moyes if it happens. Swansea would be happy with a mid-table finish each season (and a half decent run in the cups) and Moyes' style, whilst boring and predictable, should ensure that. An avoidance of relegation worries is more than they have at the moment with 1 win in their last 9.

Moyes would do a good job there, but as you say they've been known for playing an attractive style of football in recent seasons and I'm not sure Moyes could deliver that.

Indeed, Moyes and attractive football go together like chips and custard. However, love him or hate him, the guy is good at getting the required results at a team the size of Swansea and the resources they have. His ten years at Everton showed that. I also think he's learnt his lesson, namely that his ability has a ceiling and clubs like Swansea and Everton are it. It would be a good match in my opinion, he'd keep Swansea in the top flight.

There might be an opening at Newcastle soon.

If he's allowed to choose his own targets then he could be the man to finally turn them around

Turn Newcastle around? It depends on the definition of that really. No team he manages is going to do more than flirt with the Europa spots these days, so providing the fanbase of Swansea, Newcastle or whatever team ends up employing him realise that, he could do a decent job.

I think Newcastle are in a downward spiral and have been since Pardew left.

Moyes, if given time, could get them fighting for a top six place every season

Correct he would be a more stable appointment than say B Rodgers who had a win ration at Swansea of just 40% and a glaringly shit 26% at Reading before Liverpool snapped him up.

Moyes was running at 52% win ration at United before being let go which we can understand being as United are a massive club compared to Liverpool. And he won a trophy.

Nah, not these days. There is too much quality competition for those spots for someone with such a negative playing style be amongst it. Also, for a hope in hell of it happening, Ashley would need to spend serious money, and he simply wouldn't.

I'd rather see us go down that have that muppet in charge any longer, not that we will ofc. Though tbf, he had a good go at taking us down on more than one occasion.
