We go into the game as underdogs but they find themselves in a bit of a mess and we've been much better in recent weeks. Can't help but think it's our best chance in many a season to get a result, as difficult as it will still be.

I'll be optimistic and go with a 1-1 prediction. Another good performance to keep the improving mood & feel good factor. If we managed to nick it though and potentially quash their PO bid for the season then it would raise the roof of the away end & deliver joy for the fans the first time this season, you never know... COYB's!

I feel significantly more confident about this than I did a few weeks ago, but I still think we'll get a draw at best. If we're going to get anything then we'll have to score the first goal, which we have managed against Brighton, Leeds and Reading recently.

First half was pretty turgid, but it's been much better since the Ipswich goal. It's been close.

Felt we nullified 'em pretty well for the most part, another good performance from us, Bart top form again, goal aside. Penalty not given in the first half but they had chances for the second goal, too.

We missed Lawrence's link up play with McGoldrick but still great to see us continue to keep it on the deck for sustained periods.

Good point, made sweeter by the fact that it makes things ever more difficult for their PO bid. Tough ask now with their fixtures.

Thought we played pretty well on the whole, they had some chances in the first 15 minutes but after that we defended ok. Skuse did a great job shutting down Hoolahan and Naismith, all their threat came down the flanks. As TB said, was good to see us play a lot more on the ground, but we're still struggling to turn promising positions into genuine chances, can't think of any good chances apart from the goal.

How it should be, though in practice health & safety means it cannot be for other teams fans based on behaviour. Shame really.

If that's "how it should be" it ought to be tried in big inner city derbies. There would be deaths.

Would you agree it's a fairly tame (arguably boring?) derby?

There is rarely any fan trouble which is an overwhelming positive aspect, I'm happy to take tame in that respect. I both love & dread it in equal capacity especially in recent years. Today was anything but boring though, a great watch, we played well & fans sent home happy.

Irrespective of league positions both sets of fans always eagerly await the fixture and I can't see that ever changing.

It's far from boring. I'd say it's unique in the sense that from the outside we're both two family clubs who most haven't got a bad word to say (other than moan about the distance when they have to play at either of us), there's such a huge distance between the two so fans rarely intermingle outside of football, it's essentially county vs county, the football does the talking rather than fists outside the ground.
I'd say it's a fierce rivalry without the hooligans.

Was watching on sky today and knew exactly what they were doing as soon as the 15th minute applause started! Read that Town fans were going to applaud in the 62nd for our title win but we scored instead :bg:

Norwich are without doubt the nicest set of fans I've ever encountered, on multiple occasions, but most memorably after the PO final in Cardiff they made their way round to our half of the ground to congratulate and well wish us on our upcoming Premier League experience. Blues fans didn't know where to put themselves knowing what we'd have been like if we'd lost :D

Fans beating the shit out of each other isn't integral to a fierce derby or a good atmosphere. Be great if over-zealous segregation wasn't needed (tbh it mostly goes over the top of what's needed anyway but whatever)

8 arrests were made. I think that's significantly less than any other derby in recent times, but haven't researched to backup my suspicions.
