Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool in their next 4 games as well. I can't see more than a couple of points for Everton out of that lot. If we have learnt one thing about Everton this season, it's that they don't pick up wins against teams in the top half. Despite United being shit, I still can't see Everton getting more than a draw, Arsenal and Liverpool have to be firm favourites for all the points. Actually, I'd put Watford away down as no more than a point the way things stand as well.

It's not going to be a merry little Christmas for Ronald Koeman, I'll bet we're talking 1 win in 14 come kick off against Leicester on Boxing day.

See a few people slating Bolasie. While we knew he was inconsistent, he's setting up a good chance in near enough every game he's played for us this season. That's what we paid £25m for.

Been pretty poor lately, I'm hoping Koeman makes a few changes for the next game. And I also hope he'a learnt Ross Barkley can only play centre midfield and nowhere else. January will be really important for the rest of the season

How sad would someone need to be to take offence to the colour of Christmas decorations?

With "bigger clubs" comes bigger expectations and you have to look at Koeman's past record with Benfica and Valencia to see how he does.

I heard the pundits on NBCSN saying Koeman mentioned it would take two transfer windows to get rid of all the deadwood in Everton squad. What do Everton fans in here think they need in terms of strengthening their squad?

Nah, they're shite but they're still 8 points off relegation. They'll likely hit a bit of form after Christmas and end up finishing around the same spot as last season, which resulted in Martinez getting the boot. It will fall woefully short of what Everton fans were expecting (and in some cases, shouting about) when Koeman took the helm.

Unfortunately, even when Everton have shit seasons, there always seems to be at least a handful of teams who are worse.

They are probably not going to be picking up many points in the next three (Arsenal, Liverpool both at home and Leicester away) and some of the bottom sides will have closed up on them afterwards; they are going to have to spend a lot of money to get themselves out of this bind thats for sure. Koeman has his work cut out.

Here's a fun fact: Manchester United only have a point over Everton...

Real bad. When is Koeman going to start getting proper stick for this dismal form?

In bad form but its not like they have the team to be up there with Spurs and Man Utd. 1pt off the top of that next group in December, is hardly indicative of a team in terrible peril.

He can have stick from me anytime. Liverpool were there for the taking last night. Hoofing the ball to a static forward is pointless.

Maybe not. But it is the manner of the defeat. How can you not create a single chance in a match at home? And not for the first time this season either!

They're not in peril, and they won't be relegated or even end up in a relegation battle as I've previously said. They'll pick up occasional wins and draws and finish around where they did last season, 11th or 12th.

I think it's indicative of how terrible a lot of teams are this season that Everton have won 2 league games in 12 yet are still top half. Their easy start certainly helped.

I notice there is a gap in posting from 11/12 to today during which time Everton beat Arsenal. I assume this is just somewhere for the typical football fan to come and slate a manager when he loses whilst forgetting the moments of success?

They seem to have packed their team full of average EPL joruneymen,

Jagielka, Williams, Cleverley, McCarthy, Gibson, Valencia, Robles, Barkley, Kone, Lennon all clearly not good enough. They're the new QPR of over paid never beens.

Outside of Lukaku their squad is so bang average.

You have the odd player who could have been good (Barkley), and the players that were good once (Baines), but on the whole top half is probbaly not bad for that squad.

Labelling Barkley as a player that "could have been good" is a little premature, he's only just turned twenty three.
