Looking at those 4 games picked for tv I think the combined away attendance will still be lower than a Borehamwood home gate.
Morecambe or Halifax v Wimbledon, who the fuck wants to watch that shit if it ends up as Morecambe v Wimbledon ffs?

Don't worry, that's not gonna happen, Morecambe look every inch the mid table conference team they will undoubtedly be next season. We'll beat them by 2 clear goals next Tuesday. Then you can look forward to The Crazy Gang vs The Shaymen - who couldn't love that. :cool1:

Whichever knobhead decided to put Wrexham v Newport in at 8pm in a Saturday evening needs a hefty slap round the chops. Disgraceful treatment of fans.

Did you know that Halifax were Wimbledon's first opponents as a league club in 1977?

I did indeed, an event that, I think, forged an enduring bond between our clubs. and when we went out of business in 2008, AFC Wimbeldon's rise from the ashes gave us hope and inspiration.:cool1:

Why though? Great for home fans and I wouldn't mind it at all if it was the other way either. Sure you'll be back about half 1 in the morning but it's a Sunday so most people wouldn't be working anyway.

It's because BT have a PL game Saturday afternoon and there are 3 big Sky games on the Sunday so they didn't want to clash .

Well, you can’t actually get back from the game by train after the game as trains run don’t run that late, therefore it would have to be road transport which limits people. On top of that I understand that comic con is on that weekend so practically every hotel is booked up in Wrexham making staying over impossible. And finally if there is a nobby contingent travelling (possible in a “Welsh derby” in the cup) then they will be smashed by kick off.

It’s pretty heartless however you cut it. It’ll definitely hit the gate.

The EPL showing disregard for the FA Cup? You surprise me. ;-)

We have a league game on Tuesday before so the Friday evening not attractive and have Checkatrade game midweek the week after, ruling out Monday evening. I guess the gogs ruled out Sunday due to the Liverpool derby so just leaves Saturday. Saturday 5.30pm would be better. 8pm maybe down to the rozzers.

Might pop along and tick your ground off for this one. Never been and with it not clashing with us means I can probably go after work.

Why go to the effort now when you could just tick it off in the regionals next season?

Thought they might wait till after the replays as some of games potentially might not be that attractive but guess they have to pick someone !

I know we were on final score last time, but surely they could have waited until the replays were done!? Potentially Charlton Vs Chorley which is surely a big tie? Former prem team against a non-league side.

Couple of replays involving NL teams tonight.
We’re at Bradford and I fear that we’ll be on the end of a hammering, likely 3 or 4-0. Think we missed our opportunity in the home leg.

I’m not at all arsed about it, probably get a hiding in front of our lowest crowd in decades and if we somehow got through the next round although winnable is totally unappealing, another long poke down South.

You might not be but I'm sure our football league standard squad will be 'well up for it' and 'out to prove a point'.

They can go out and prove their point but I'll not be there to see it just like the Barnet game. I can't face going to watch us at the minute. It's soul destroying.

Absolute bollocks that if we get through our replay tonight they’ve moved our game to the Sunday at home to Southport.

The Merseyside derby is also that same day and some of the traveling fans aswell as a small percentage of our own supporters will want to watch Liverpool v Everton.

Also if we go out tonight that means Southport will travel to Oxford on the Sunday. National league south v National league north moved for TV coverage? Give me a break.

Chorley probably wish they had just lost the 1st game in a gallant effort /defeat rather than losing by 7 at Doncaster!

On a more positive note well done Halifax.

I completely agree. There is also the Santa Dash in Liverpool that Sunday morning which will make travelling through Liverpool even more of a pain in the arse. I'm hoping Merseyside Police see sense and put a block on it being played on the Sunday, but it's not like them to be sensible about such things.

I hate penalty shootouts. Despise them. I also despise our lack of firepower up front as well

Easiest win of the season against a side I am confident we will be playing 2 bread & butter fixtures against next season. Now bring on our blood brothers, AFC Wimbledon for our love-in at The Shay in Round 2. Let there be wine, music and spaghetti...…… :woot:

And he scored them from a cumulative total distance of 10 metres...
Proper strikers goals.

Another good win for us in the cup, now we just have to do it in the league!!
