*Ahem* AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

Actually Histon were relegated to step 4, so they are the same level as us now, just sideways, we ended up in the NPLD1S while they ended in the SLD1C - imagine they would be high on the list of teams to be moved North should it be required.

Tough draw, Histon should be one of the better teams in that division I believe, though as I stated last season while we were in it, it certainly seems like one of the worst step 4 divisions in terms of quality at the top end.

Should we progress Coalville will be fascinating, as it should be a little insight in to what it takes to get promoted from this division, albeit via the playoffs.

Edit: meant to say it's fantastic to have potentially two home draws in the competition, and against sides in different divisions helps keep it interesting. I'd like us to do well in the Trophy but I'd clearly sacrifice it willingly for league or FA Cup success

Just noticed Hereford host Salisbury! Tough draw that!

Tie of the round. Can't see anything beating that. Surprised the geographical boundaries were wide enough to allow that tie actually. It'll be huge as a statement for the race for the title in that division too.

Haha! Much the crucial AFC bit. I agree about having home games against teams from other leagues, makes it much better. Its been years since we had that.

Terrible draw for us, but looking forward to it.

We're actually away to them. Should be a decent tie and I expect us to sell our allocation again but probably a lot less salisbury fans this time.

Just what our injury hit squad needed, another game!

Histon have been terrible this season, so in theory we should have put them away easily. Now we've got to go there on Tuesday to try and get through.

Well maybe the extra game was exactly what we needed! We went away and won 6-1!

New signing Ash Deeney (a RB) got his first game for the club. Jake Newman got a start and a goal returning from injury. Sam Brown was back at LB too.

A nice confidence boost and we host Colaville in the next round, who are currently 18th in the division above. £2,500 in the bank is nice too, with £2,700 up for grabs in the next round if we can turn up.

Based on their results so far this season they're about to fall even more!

It's gone from being the worst ground to ever grace step 1 to likely one of the best at step 5 when they are there (though clearly not the best ever).

We've got Coalville at home, they are really struggling in the league above, so it's a great chance to knock out higher placed opposition and pocket some prize money for us, though we will have to be careful, this can be a big gap in class, and we have been going through a patch of mixed performances and results. Overall I expect a tight game and hope for a win. Don't want a replay this time, though it would postpone a league game away at the 2nd placed side (Spalding) on Tuesday

Always pleasing to get a win against higher placed opposition - even if they are doing poorly in the league. Sounded like we deserved the victory.

Very pleased to get an extra £2,700 in the bank, and now we have to wait and see who we have in the next round. No new teams, but anyone from our level will have won twice to get through and the worst teams from the level above will have gone. No easy draws for a side like us, but we should also be capable of giving a game to most sides we can face. The only preference is not to get a local derby!

Lincoln United is an interesting draw for us. They did similarly well in the FA Cup, going a round further than us. They are also in our league and not doing too well, though they do have a number of games in hand to claw their way back to a respectable position.

3 home ties in a row in the Trophy! That's fantastic too. It's a realistic chance to progress. £3,250 for the winners too, and the opportunity to face conference regional opposition.

Dean Cox, currently playing for Burgess Hill Town as he waits for the next transfer window to join up with Crawley Town, was magnificent on Saturday as they beat Beaconsfield SYCOB. I had to write a report for the NLP and the local paper, and conduct a radio interview for BBC Sussex, so I thought I'd share the very much longer version of my report.

Conference North/South sides enter in the 3rd qualifying draw on Monday.

Hoping for Micklover/Matlock but we will get a Conference North side, or Blyth away.

I thought it was meant to be 12.00?

Last couple of rounds there wasn't a massive delay like this. On the plus side twitter has become amusing.

We've got to win our replay to get an away tie at Kiddy. That's a good draw if we can get through. You either want something winnable or a big tie to either go out on without shame, or get a huge result
