The xG graph based on performances so far, seen people mention it as useful last season when apparently Fulham were near the bottom of the league with Brentford but both were near the top of this graph and as the season went on climbed the table to match.

Shows that Wigan, West Brom Norwich not getting the results that performances have deserved.

Derby, Swansea and Bolton massively riding their luck and if performances continue in this manner would be expected to plummet down the table. Surprised at Preston, those stats look very concerning for a side tipped to do well, Neil has a habit of going off the boil. Ipswich look in all sorts of trouble.

Apart from that everyone else is generally where they should be based on performances so far. League definitely talking shape already.

We're the epitome of bang average then! :(

Out of interest, do we know what each team in the Championship spent on Transfers by the end of the transfer window? I thought there was a table in one of the papers but can't seem to find it

Lose your main goalscorer and one of your best creative outlets to injury a week before kick off, then have to play unproven players who may need 10-15 games to get up to speed and this is what happens.

Need to add more experience to the front line this week if we're going to avoid playing catch up massively.

Seen a table knocking about for that expected goals thing, puts us top if we took our chances. Shows that with a finisher we could be a surprise package in this league, I guess that explains why we've spent weeks going after that Brereton from Forest, a new striker is crucial.

Confirmed "minimum" 12 point point deduction and a two year embargo.

Bury are hardly financially prudent, but how can you be splashing out on players like Doidge etc one week before you’ve got a £5M loan to re-pay? They fucking deserve it for being so clumsy.

Before anyone comes out with the ‘oh it’s the fans that suffer, no one wants to see a club go bust” etc, they can get fucked, they’re the first to come laughing at any Bury related news, they were wanking themselves off because Zach Clough scored against us in the checkatrade cup just last week.

Bolton won’t go bust anyway, admin and a relegation but they won’t hit the wall.

Even if they did they’d just reform.

If you overspend for years in an attempt to play at a higher level, makes sense that when the money runs out you’ll likely have to play at a lower level than you otherwise would have.

Wouldn't that mean multiple relegations nowadays? I don't think they can assume the current position as a 'pheonix' club any more but stand to be corrected. Hereford were dropped to tier 9 when they reformed IIRC.

Indeed. I wonder if the powers that be will be so stringent with an ex Premier league / much bigger club though?
At some point, they will have to batter some club as this seems to be happening constantly nowadays yet clubs continue to vastly overspend. The way clubs are gambling at the mo makes me think someone is going to go 'pop' soon. Even the mighty Villa were very close during the summer after all.

My thoughts exactly! Football in general just seems to be building to a point where it’ll just go bang!
Sometimes I use that as the excuse for Evans holding back investment but then again that might just be me being kind

It’s unsustainable wages that are killing the game, but the situation is too far gone.

The only clubs that can genuinely get by with mega wages are the top 6 in the PL, everyone else in the FL/PL needs a financial backer to plug the gap.

Obviously it doesn’t make mainstream news, but you don’t hear of teams in Spain, Germany etc going bust or into admin.

Oh for sure. But - if you're a club that's going to rack up debts and then not pay them, that's where you deserve to be.

Last minute offer made to BlueMarble, waiting to hear if accepted or not. Court file papers on administration at 10:45 unless BlueMarble advised them not to
