A guid dram
Be interested to see what they look like. Its a token gesture though with all the waste they generate on these new shirts they make year on year.

Dirk's guys are 0-3 down at half-time.

Welcome to the Buli Zwei mate. It sucks, you're gonna love it. At least you get to take Werder with you.

Yes I know it's premature to be typing these sentences but I'm bad ass like that.

mente captus  . Great! (And I fear he's right with this) edit: Borrowed this video for another forum ;)

Just coming home from the Volksparkstadium where the HSV let us (and especially Uwe Seeler at his 80th birthday ) down again with an utterly shite performance in the first half (second half was a bit better where we scored so many goals as in the 9 games before)

After Aubameyang scored his hattrick goal in the 27th minute many fans sang " Alle (Spieler) außer Uwe können gehen...." (free translation: all (players) except Uwe can piss off!) "

Honest opinion needed though. Do you think you can get out of this?

Yes.
Until it is mathematically impossible to stay in the Bundesliga, I believe in this team (and get enough laughters from around me but they aren't HSV Fans at heart like me for over 40 years)

edit: Hope you didn't take the "Piss off"personally and you saw the smiley at the end.

Today's matches:

Schalke 04 vs Werder Bremen:

As a HSV Fan I'll keep my fingers crossed for Schalke, of course. Although, I admit it, I want to see Serge Gnabry playing a good match. He just got his first call for the German squad as a reward for his good performances at Werder (and of course for his excellent scoring for the German Olympic Football team). It was a good decision for him to leave Arsenal and come back to Germany.

RB Leipzig vs Mainz 05:

If Leipzig wins with a goal difference of 8 they would go into first place of the Bundesliga. Enough said!

*************************************************
but the most important match of this sunday is of course the Lower Saxonian Derby in the 2nd Bundesliga:

Eintracht Braunschweig vs Hannover 96:

a so-called "high risk" match (in the police jargon). The Police already prevented a mass brawl between 170 "fans" of both clubs in the near town of Hildesheim! Hopefully the match today won't see any continuation of this. No one needs this (except those weirdos of course)

Interesting fact after (at least) 10 Matchdays in Europe's top leagues:

There are still 6 unbeaten teams and 3 of them are coming from the Bundesliga:

Bundesliga:
Bayern: (7-3-0)
Leipzig: (7-3-0)
Hoffenheim: (5-5-0)

Premier League:

Tottenham (5-6-0)

La Liga:
Real (8-3-0)

Liga NOS :
Benfica (8-2-0)

Another great win for Leipzig away at Bayer Leverkusen!

Emil Forsberg, celebrating the 2-2 equalizer (behind him is Oliver Burke).
Tbf Bayer could have won this one, too. They were 2-1 in front and had a penalty but Calhanoglu failed.
Maybe Leipzig wouldn't have come back with a 1-3? But then Leno let a "Clown Goal" in and Bayer never really recovered after this.
Very impressive this newcomer. 11 Matches: 8 Wins-3 Draws. Never before seen in the Bundesliga from an absolute new team.
Today is the Top Match Dortmund vs Bayern. So Bayern had to win this if they want to stay on top. I expect a draw nonetheless. Unfortunately the Comeback of Marco Reus had to be cancelled. This Guy really has bad luck!

HSV has to play tomorrow at Hoffenheim. They are still unbeaten (5-5). It's the former team of HSV coach Gisdol (ironically they sacked him last year after they lost against the HSV. Maybe he can "repay" this with a HSV win :ffs: (yes, I know....)

Dortmund won 1-0 against Bayern. Very edgy and very few chances in this game. Aubameyang scored the only goal with a tap-in but Bayern look very much weaker than last season. No player stood out as being particularly dangerous and I don't rememeber Bürki making an actual save in this game.

Great to see Bayern lose though!

The similarities with PSG are quite staggering. Not playing well, looking like they won't win the league even though they probably will, new manager is supposedly better than the previous one but is not getting similar results, indifferent CL campaign in the group stages.

It was a good match but not a great one. Borussia won 1-0 thanks to an Aubameyang goal (and he could have scored another one but Neuer with a great action). Bayern hit the goalpost (Xabi) and had an (slight) offside goal (Lewandowski). But overall I think the win for Borussia is ok.
And now we have RB Leipzig on top of the Bundesliga, 3 points clear of Bayern. Of course that doesn't mean anything now but it's refreshing to see another one on top (even if its a plastic club but they are playing good football). Bayern was 39 consecutive matchdays on top of the BuLi.

I wouldn't say it was a particularly good save by Neuer more that Aubame should have done better on a one-on-one against the best goalkeeper in the world. Lewy was especially poor even though yes his flick was quality for the offside goal.
There just doesn't seem to be that much threat in this Bayern side. Ribéry looks past it, Douglas Costa seems to resemble more the Walcott/Lennon/Sterling mould than an actual long-term replacement to Arjen Robben, same for Thiago & Xabi who don't look remarkable in any sense.

They do have Carlo though so you can't count them out for the CL.

This weekend we'll see the Nord-Derby between HSV and Werder Bremen, the most played match in the Bundesliga. Of course I'll be there!

Hopefully this will be the outcome of this match :D

Werder, although with some losses recently has improved since their weak start into the season. The HSV with a good match last weekend at Hoffenheim.
We have to win this one!!!

Just back home from the match. Only 2-2 (again). HSV 2-times in front and the first half was the best so far in this season. Gnabry again, what a luck for Bremen to get him from Arsenal!

Dirk, I'm thinking of coming over for HSV/Hertha and Werder/Darmstadt. Those games are on March 4th. What are the chances that the games will be played on seperate days?

Actually the exact dates for the weekend 3.3-5.3 are not finally terminated, that's why all 9 matches are dated at the 4.3.
I don't know how the DFL terminates this finally with 1 Friday, 5 Saturday noon, 1 Saturday evening and 2 Sunday matches. Normally the teams in the European Competitions will get a Sunday date when they play the week before or a sooner date (Friday, Saturday noon) when they play the week after. But this isn't the case for the 4 mentioned teams. But the chances are still there that one of the matches is on Saturday and the other one on Sunday.

Planning on making it a hat-trick of BVB trips in Feb/March next year. Just waiting to see what comes available, but I'm already excited!

Hamburg won a game and Dirk still hasn't posted? He must be lost in the bottom of a bottle somewhere in Frankfurt.

No, completely sober. I couldn't get a visa for the trip into Hessia. ;)

First win, yeah. Thank god. The red lantern is now in Audi-City
Had to laugh about the Sky Germany reporter as he mentioned that the win is important for the HSV in Europe...and then "oh, hold on, don't get me wrong. Now the HSV is from the very short list of winless clubs in the top European leagues and he mentioned a greek club which is still winless" :D

btw: the HSV is now unbeaten in 3 matches, before the winter break we'll have next weekend Augsburg at home, then Mainz away and Schalke at home. 6 points from 9 is the target.

Darmstadt sacked today Coach Norbert Meier after the loss against the HSV. And to make it complete they fired also director of football Holger Fach because he said that he won't stay when they sack Norbert Meier. Doesn't look good for the Hessians now, they lost their sixth game in a row. They came back to the Bundesliga after more than 30 years last season and even stayed in the league but I think they are now ripe to go back to the second tier.

Former HSV coach Bruno Labbadia who's born in Darmstadt and even played for the Lilies is rumoured to become coach after the winter break but apparently he already declined.

WTF. Corner stats?

As a kid, when we played football, we had the "3 Corners for 1 penalty" rule, so this was relevant for the end-result.
What is this all about? Betting about how much corners there are? I don't get it
