We're all registered (German efficiency/bureaucracy. 4-6 weeks before an election I get automatically a "voting card" with my address and the address of my polling station where I am registered)

Although the result of your general election seems to be clear (at least what I've heard) you should vote nonetheless. Not voting isn't the right way to show if your dissatisfied/disillusioned...etc with democracy ( I am doing the same in September here in Germany. The result (Merkel again) seems clear too but that won't hinder me to vote against her)

We're the same here Dirk. Tbh, I can't recall having to specifically register to vote although we have to complete and return a 'Council electoral roll' form for our house annually so that may cover our voting inclusion.

Just a quick reminder that the deadline is 23:59 tonight.

There is actually a trend towards increasing turnout (61% in 2005; 65% in 2010 ; 66% in 2015), but these figures are still relatively crap. Turnout was always over 70% at general elections between 1922 and 2001, and always over 75% at those fought in the 1950s and 1960s.

High turnout is a good thing irrespective of which parties or individuals benefit from it (unless it's the Lib Dems of course).

My vote may not change the outcome but at least I will have made it. Normally having a female Prime Minister would make me very happy, but Teresa May is bad. The country couldn't be in worse hands.

And looking back to this time last year, if I knew then what I know now I wouldn't change the way I voted. At least, when everything goes horribly t*ts up, nobody will be able to say it was my fault.
