A bottom of the table clash at the Prestfield stadium where 18th meets 23rd. Chesterfield have just 2 wins in the previous 10 games whereas Gillingham have won just 1 in the previous 10 games. So all to play for on Tuesday night.

I am afraid it could be. And don't call me Surley !
At the moment, I would be happy with another 1-1

No idea about the result but it is pretty much guaranteed to be another turd of a match.
I shall be there again, why? Just why?

Ched Evans hasn't travelled. I'd love to say we'll miss his influence......

I hope the Spireites finances have improved from earlier in the season, unfortunately the same cannot be said of the team, 2-0 the the Gills

Fucking shower of shit, utterly incapable of keeping a clean sheet. 9 points from 33, 1 win in 11, 5 draws in a row. Circling the drain.

We actually weren't too bad tonight, but I'm not surprised to see negativity. We should absolutely, definitely, 100% have won that match, and we deserved to. Having said that, we didn't deserve anything on saturday and we got a point there.

Indeed, let's look at the situation now after the game, compared to before. We're still the same distance above the bottom 4, with the game in hand. We've actually gone up a place with the point - 5 unbeaten by the way, it's not like we're losing every week. Yes it's frustrating not beating possibly the worst League One I've seen in a decade, but the end of the world? Nah.

Onto Coventry.

At what point does the eternal optimism wear off?

It doesn't really, I'm a positive person. Far better that than be an utter misery all the time.

Why are you so upset with everything all the time? Isn't that a bit boring?

I believed you to be one of the more enlightened and balanced posters on here in the past, however, my natural "glass-half-empty" view on Gills since pre-Brackley led to some pretty condescending and supercilious comments from your good self essentially decrying any opinion I may put forth regarding our relegation chances. Now frankly, that has irritated me somewhat, a lot actually, as I enjoy posting on here, it gives me the chance to vent in a environment where it causes no harm.

To have a fellow-Gill who has no idea about me as a person obliquely brand me as one those breed of "modern football fans" who's opinion is sniffily dismissed simply because it does not accord with their own sunny (yet seemingly myopic) worldview is quite annoying.

We have an expensively assembled side who are in grave danger of sending us back to the grim reality of the bottom tier. Apologies if my frustration at this situation grates against your sunny optimism, but there it is.
