I'm a Scandinavian guy in my early 30's. I'm rather a supporter of my local club than watching others play Champions League, although I've had friendly contact primarily with fans of FC København (who in turn have friends at HSV and from there to Rangers). Generally though I try to be non-sided when it comes to football outside of HIF. Only that I have a general liking for clubs that have a hardcore following without subcombing to the usual ultras franchise that can be seen all around Europe these days. To weigh things up there I do like English football in general, although I couldn't really pick one club. Saw Millwall-Leeds once, been looking a bit at Bristol City's following, some interest in Wolves etc. Nottingham Forest simply have to be mentioned in a positive way because of the result in the European cup final 1979. It's also not about the underdog thing about Championship clubs. I'd be just as interested in bigger clubs if only I could get insight into the true core.
What does disturb me is political correctness. I tend to dislike clubs who's getting too much praise in media for their fans and especially those who are using drums etc at the terraces.
If there's anything personal to admit that should be relevant on this forum I suppose it would be that I simply don't watch all that much football. I would like to have watched more football and especially British, but for some reason I just don't. Usually I would be too active in the culture of my own club but inexplainably that has also become less since about 2010.
I should probably add that I'm not very interested in the Swedish national team and especially not when it contains former malmö players. In Euros and World Cup I would usually hope for English victories and to some extent Danish instead. Suppose I'm quite a typical HIF fan in all of this, but precisely what's typical at our club is what's been decreasing the most lately. Nearest future doesn't look very bright but we've been through worse before and we made a comeback to the top after 24 years. That's what this club stands for. It stands.
