Hi Guys,
I'm Phil, a football fanatic so I think I am in the right place
Even though I'm Italian (Juventus supporter), the championship I love the most is the Premier League. Every game is full of intensity and teams never give up. I really love that attitude.
Last year was a kind of "baptism" for me, it was the first year I watched almost every PL matchweek. In my opinion, Leicester played a very entertaining football, in particular, before they realized they were really competing to win the title.

This year, I was looking for a forum where I can comment the championship with other passionates and I, fortunately, found this forum! I saw there is a Prediction League, too. That's great! :brill:

Hope to have fun with you guys and enjoy also this Premier League season!

Greetings from Germany, Phil (not the usual Italian first name ;) ).

What a coincidence: Just days before another Juve Fan from Italy (Luc@) registered here, too. That's now 2-1 for Italy vs Germany :D (only joking). Although I am not a big fan of the Serie A but I like Juve and especially Gigi Buffon, one of the greatest guys in football I've ever met!

Do you have a favourite team in the PL (or is it Leicester?). And are you interested in the English Championship, too? Because there are also fantastic teams ;)

Anyway: I look forward to your posts.

You caught me, Dirk! My name is Filippo, but as it's usually shortened to Fil, I preferred to put the English spelling (that I actually kinda like more).

I agree that Serie A matches are usually less fun than the PL ones, especially if they don't involve top clubs. In the last 10 years, the Italian championship has been losing appeal and we have fewer top players than we used to. However, I think things will change for the better soon, so, stay tuned!
BTW, did you meet Gigi in person? He is a fantastic man. His attitude at the last Euro Cup prove that even more, if it was needed. And I love seeing the BBC+Gigi playing together, they seem to play for something more than just money.

Finally, no, I don't have a favourite team in PL and I really hate that! I want to cheer for some club! :bg1: Also, unfortunately, I don't have any time to follow another league

We have another hbk on the site who starts unusual threads, any relation?
Hi claret50,

I am unique :pmsl::pmsl::pmsl: no relations with other profiles. Is it allowed for 2 users to have the same username? :ohm: In that case, I might think to change mine. Please, let me know.

I thought so. ;)

Right. In the 80's and early 90's the Italian Serie A was the ultimate Aim for many German Nationalplayers (although we have had this in the 60's, too, with Helmut Haller or Karl-Heinz Schnellinger for example. Thank God my HSV-Idol Uwe Seeler could withstand the bids from Inter Milan (they offered the HSV a transfer fee which was unbelievable at that time (today of course ridiculous low) but he stayed at the HSV)
Most players said at that time that it is their wish to play once in the Serie A. This has now changed, now most players say that they want to play in the PL ("It was my childhood dream to play once for .....(fill in every team it doesn't matter because it's mostly the money and not the club (a bit exaggerated I know))

I met him a few times. At the World Cup 2006 in Germany for example after our heartbreaking loss in the semis against Italy. Of course he was full of joy about the win but he was also empathic for the German Fans and had some nice words for us. Lastly I met him after this years Quarterfinal in the Champions League (although I am no Bayern Fan but I had tickets for the match and I came to see Juve and Buffon). This time it was him who was "heartbroken" after this epic match. But even when he loses a match he never forgets to congratulate the winner. He's a great sportsman. And he was the only one in the Italian team I felt sorry for after their loss against Germany in this years Euro 2016 quarterfinal ;)

Everything about BPL's organization seems to be perfect. They made that league a masterpiece that is worth a lot of money. :£

Italy didn't deserve to win, but Gigi didn't deserve to lose  Poor Super Gigi. BTW, that Germany's curse had to be broken sooner or later.
