We certainly got lucky with the penalty decision (5.46 mark)

What an awful decision for the penalty, they said it was bad but watching it is even worse, not that it would change the ref's mind but Muir doesn't even appeal to the ref.

Cassidy is frigging hopeless with the ball at his feet, three first half chances wasted, it's like he's wearing the boxes his boots came in.

There is none for our game, do they just not have them for some games?

I love that the H&W manager and players are all saying they were the better side! They were abysmal second half and we couldn't have been more dominant.
and the passing move for our 1st goal (skip to 2 mins 17 seconds) was better than anything we did last season

Goal of the season contender from Fondop there, he looks a real find, superb improvisation. Not sure about their penalty, silly from Akil to swing his foot like that, but think there’s very little (if any) contact. Lainton made a great save low down though. Also looked harsh on Dover at the end with the disallowed goal. May have been given for what the forward was doing to Pearson though, but I’d be frustrated if it was given against us.

Some bizarre refereeing decisions in that game. How the ref doesn’t give you a pen when he can see the Hartlepool player with a good handful of the player’s shirt for quite a while, I’ll never know..

Yeah that was more a pen than the one he gave.

Cracking goal from Carter! Enjoyed that.
Watching some of these highlights, some of the football played is so much better than what I’ve seen from us so far. Hopefully we get some sort of idea of how to keep it on the deck pretty quickly.

Entertaining game between Leamington & Boston United. Boston should've scored two or three in the first 10 minutes but Leamington scored with their first shot (I think) after 15 minutes. Great 2nd goal for Leamington though!

Agree re. Carter’s second goal, great driving run and finish. I don’t remember him last season in the games vs Woking. Aldershot look massively second best and a few yards off the pace in that video though. Where’s Rendell? You can always guarantee goals with him in the side.

Dear Brotherhood president,

I do feel that Chesterfield FC, an honorary member of the Football League Brotherhood, are not following the first golden rule of the organisation, which is to get completely and utterly humiliated by a smaller club in the first throngs of the season. This was stipulated in the Brotherhood membership package which was delivered to Derbyshire upon relegation.

It is with great regret that they are not yet in a position to empathise with other proper clubs who've had their good name dragged through the dirt with its endearing followers duly taken the piss out of and verbally humiliated in public houses, or on public transport by plastic premiership fans in the proper town/city in which the proper club bases itself.

It is of my opinion that if Chesterfield FC wish to assume an active part in the organisation, in solidarity with the other members, that they must lose to a tinpot club very soon, as this has not happened yet, I am concerned that their role within the brotherhood may need further consideration. They should also be aware that games are often thrown in favour of the other brotherhood member when playing each other for the greater good.

I trust in their full compliance with the brotherhood doctrine.

Halifax slightly lucky looking at the highlights and nice to see some of the encouraging comments coming from some Halifax fans, Had the Havant keeper been in nets for Halifax it would have been different - but fair play to the Halifax keeper who had a great game

Rendell? He played according to the teamsheet, but I think he must be lost somewhere in either of Nelson's or Evans pockets as I didn't notice him

Halifax keeper had a great game? He only made two saves all game that I can recall of. A header straight at him in the first half and the one where he tipped it over on the highlights in the second half.

What your highlights don't show is Edwards getting through 3 times on goal for us and taking too long to get a shot away. There was one, particularly he would have probably scored had he done so.

Will give you some credit though. You played some nice football around the back and in midfield but ran out of ideas in the final third. Just resorted to potshots really.
