So it seems the new partner for most Clubs Commentary and online content will now allow me as an overseas resident to stream live Video of each match. Anyone got the full scoop on this. Will I be able to watch all games or just our home ones. Not cheap at 110 quid but too starved of action to not indulge.

All games, assuming that the Club you're playing are also 'in' on it.

I read that they will put the game online the day or so after for people to watch too but I don't know what sort of subscription that is. Maybe the same amount.

That's what I'm aiming to do. Firebox pre loaded with a Kodi is about £120.

So one would have to cough up the 130 euros or whatever it is upfront, no monthly payments then. And what happens if the service is terrible and you want to opt out? Don't know if the guys who runs Player are behind this, but U's Player wasn't exactly perfect either. I often logged on to hear the mighty U's in action but got those bastards up at Cripple Sidings Lane instead *spits* Or for the live comm to go inexplicably offline.

Yep, Mariners Player live commentary wasn't the best and they got rid of our longstanding and hilariously passionate commentator for some run of the mill hack who I don't think had any affiliation with us (at least he didn't sound like he did anyway). Seems like a new company has been brought in to do the individual club sites though, so maybe this is all new compared to the Player sites?
I'm wondering if the clubs who don't offer their commentary on the BBC websites are the ones that haven't joined this? If so, Grimsby wouldn't be in and I wouldn't be tempted. The only thing that would tempt me to sign up to a non-Grimsby thing, would be if there was some kind of middle ground between showing just the goals and full matches. 10 to 30 min highlights of all FL games would be great and give us so much more to go on when talking about other teams who we see at most twice a season (unless they are playing Portsmouth, Sheffield Utd or whoever is top of the Championship on Sky). And yeah, I know this is available through Player too, but I have had problems getting onto other sides Players before and given up trying to watch highlights I was keen on seeing. If the interface improves this could be a decent system.

Stags fans maybe not, but remember this is not just for L2. I'm sure there are several Leeds, Wolves, Forest, Wednesday etc fans scattered all over the world.*

BTW, some 8 years ago I was on holiday in Italy and I saw two dark skinned gentlemen in Cambridge shirts. I was already on my way to congratulate them on choosing such a fine club to support until I remembered that back in the early 2000's there was this drive amongst UK footy fans to donate all their used shirts to poor Africans. Shit.

*oops I forgot Villa are in the championship too nowadays ;)

You do realise a fire TV box is £80 brand new from Amazon?

So you are planning to give somebody £40 for installing a free app on it?

I did some research after posting this and a US based "Soccer" website had a Q&A on the subscription and they expect six figure subscriptions (healthy turnover at 100 quid a pop) mostly from Europe, Australia and NZ but 55% of the overall market total is expected to be US based.

Would love it if Americans became more knowledgeable about the FL than PL fans.

Ah Americans. ''I love sports''. Bless.

Howdy partner. You up for the Broncos game?
To hell with the Broncos, man! I'm a soccer fan nowadays, and Morecambe are playing some Stanley something team, so I'm watching that. Now who drank my Bud?

And there is no way these can be used in the UK? I'd pay £100 to watch our away games.

What a stupid thing to say, how should we refer to people from the USA, other than Americans?

That's what happened already wasn't it. Well on ours it does, I've been watching our full games hungover on Sunday mornings for the past couple of years.
