Going out of a cup deservedly to the best side in said competition doesn't make it a difficult time. There's always the league and FA Cup yet so still all to play for. ;)

When was the last time Liverpool lost 3 home matches in a row? (serious question, can't be arsed to google it but I am sure all you real Liverpool Fans can give me the solution ...pronto).
For Saturday's FA Cup match: Come on, Wolves ;)

Just imagine if Wolves win like Plymouth should have and Swansea and Saints did.

I fear for Saltys safety and that of his close friends and pets.

Rodgers' percentage is based on double the amount of games and Benitez's on over four times as many. Perhaps it's just me but I say we give Klopp a little longer before making such direct comparisons.

We're going through a shit patch at the moment, and no doubt. Which will no doubt be great entertainment for those that weren't posting much on the subject of Liverpool whilst we were on a great roll back in September, October and November. But I've no doubt we will pick up again, most teams go through bad patches at some point, this is ours. Hopefully the pick up will happen before the hard work we did in the first half of the season is undone and we struggle to get into the top 4. With absolutely nothing else bar the top 4 to play for now, there is frankly zero fucking excuse if it doesn't happen.

The Chelsea game on Tuesday is now absolutely fucking massive.

The pressure will be on to ensure Liverpool get a top 4 spot (which won't be easy unless they sort the defence out)

Only Premier league games from now on...

The defence is the pits. But the downturn is far more about the lack of goals being scored at the moment. We were banging in 2-3 goals on average per game up until Christmas, and the vast majority of the time if we conceded due to the leaky defence, we scored more so it wasn't so much of an issue. Including Wolves today we have played 8 times in January, and have scored more than one goal in only 2 of those games, and we won neither of them. And there is more than the loss of Mane to the ACN to this.

Work to be done to get our form back, but I'm confident Klopp will do it.

Me, too. This is one bad spell now. He had endured similar in his last season at Dortmund. He had a hell of a first season half with lingering in the relegation zone. In the second half they went up and reached the Europa League spot (more wasn't possible because of the disastrous first half).

for the umptieth time, johnny. I always liked Liverpool since the 70's, have mentioned it here often enough. That doesn't make me a "supporter". I only support Hamburg because I watch their matches in the stadium.

But tbh: I don't give a shit anymore what you are thinking. You are only a troll in the Liverpool threads because nobody here gives a fuck about your holy Everton in the threads and your bloody Koeman.

I don't disagree with you and I think Klopp is an excellent manager but I read an interesting stat today - Klopp has now lost three home games in a row and the last time he did that was with Mainz, so even in his worst spell with Dortmund he never quite plumbed the depths that he is now with Liverpool, at least on that one measure. Liverpool's next three home games are against Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal!

That's right. He never lost 3 home matches at Dortmund but he was in the relegation zone of the Bundesliga for a few weeks back then. So actually his situation in the Premier League is still not so bad comparing to that first half season where he was under immense pressure. But although he reverted this in the second half this pressure was one of the reasons why he made the decision to leave Dortmund for a one year "sabbatical" (we know now that this one year out of the job lasted only a few months )

Liverpool's next three home games are against Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal!

Absolute critical matches. Normally they can't afford to lose at home anymore, but given the strength of those Three, especially Chelsea, I am worried.

It is almost Mourinho-esque in how bad it is just now. Been an awful month, hoping for a new month and a new lease of life! :D

You better hope he doesn't reach the depths he did when managing Dortmund!

As Dirk mentioned, relegation spots for a while.

But finished in Europe! ;)

It's easier to fly up the Bundesliga than it is to fly up the Premier League, though.

If you keep playing like you are you'll drop down the table pretty quickly and I wouldn't expect Klopp to find it easy to race back up the table.

Its doom and gloom just now I fully admit, and it looks like we are overly reliant on Mane just now, Hendo takes a long time to get sharp after an injury as does Coutinho, and it doesn't help that Sturridge is finished (and Ings is out long-term who would have come in) and tends to play in Firmino's best position. Got the scores on the go in the AfCON just now, and have my fingers crossed that Senegal get eliminated tonight so that Mane is back for Hull! :D

Liverpool have a good run-in so hopefully they will be sorted out a bit by then and they have done the best against the other top 6 sixes on head to head meetings, although the way things are going just now Chelsea will gub them on Tuesday and then Spurs and Arsenal come soon too, so they need to get their heads out their arses quickly. I think generally we've been overachieving and now vastly underachieving this month. Its disappointing that there wont be any signings coming in in this window though to freshen it up a bit.

It's easier to be Champion in the Bundesliga when you are Bayern Munich than to be it in the Premier League, that's true. But it's not necessarily easier to get out of the Bottom than in the Premier League. That's intense fighting there, more interesting (in the last 4 years at least) than at the top. Believe me I know what I am talking about. HSV has to endure it in 3 of the last 4 years with 2 times Relegations Playoffs (and nowadays again, unfortunately). So what Klopp has achieved in that particular 2nd half back then was great and is only comparable when he got 2 Championships with Borussia (Borussia was the best team in the 2nd half if I remember it right)

Mane missed the pen that knocked Senegal out of the AFCON - he's coming back!!!! :db:
[His confidence will probably be all shot with that miss mind, but he'll be right at home back at Liverpool, yay!!!]

I wouldn't get too excited, you've got a tough run of games and you will need more than Sadio Mané to fix the slump you are in.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and all that.
