T Only Chelsea and Spurs come out of this season with any credit.
If Liverpool get top four with everything they've had to put up with injury wise this season, then they have to get credit too.

Nilsson's right. Only two teams managed to both attack and defend with real quality and consistency this season - Chelsea and Spurs. It's a damning indictment of the state of the league and I hope we see a higher level of quality next season.

I think all the teams sat between 3rd and 6th are a bunch of jokers. The last time Liverpool finished in the top 4 it didn't take them onto the next level, so we'll have to wait and see if it does them any good.

Yeah that window was a farce and Suarez leaving didn't help things. I think we'd be in a much better position to push on this time around. Remember we finished 8th last year (while we did what you guys are doing now in concentrating on the EL), so to get top four would be progress. It looked like we could aim a bit higher for a while earlier in the season, but the squad depth has shown we've a bit to go which will hopefully get rectified in the summer.

Hello Pags mate. Look at this link and that.

https://twitter.com/OptaJoe/status/861191383238844417

Could you please explain why one of these people endured a campaign of hatred and personal abuse from Liverpool fans before being thrown out of the club and given meme status while the other is worshipped mate? Thank you mate.
So we're basically back to where we were when we had Suarez, except Klopp is doing it without Suarez. Pretty impressive you have to say, thanks for pointing it out.

You do realise that it's not his fault that we're playing the Europa League this season? It's not a situation we want to be in but he's made the best out of it and got us to the final.

“It [the Europa League] is not a competition that Man United wants,” Mourinho said. “It is not one I want or the players but it is a competition where we are and that is the reality. We have to respect the competition. We want to do well and for a club of our dimension it is not to be out of the competition in the group stage.

Was a Champions League spot acquirable via the Europa League when Mourinho made those comments?

Genuine question, I can't remember.

If not, that makes a big difference.

I don't think it does at all. If he was our manager last season and was the reason we're playing in the Europa League then he'd deserve some stick for it. But he played no part in us having play in this competition and like I said made the best of the situation he found himself in and got us to the final.

Which I don't think he would have done had the Europa League not gifted a Champions League spot.

Community Shield, League Cup, Europa League (also known as the Real Man's Treble) and a guaranteed place in the group stages of the Champions League next season.

Not bad, Jose.

Add to that the inevitable Super Cup victory and you can realistically assert that Manchester United have been the most successful club in world football this season.

Some fun facts for everybody to ponder.

Mourinho has won more in his first season at United than Spurs have managed in the last 25 years. He also clinched more trophies than Liverpool have in a whole decade(!).

Another interesting tidbit: Like Jose, media-friendly Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also got to the finals of the League Cup and Europa League in his first season at his current club. But that's where the similarities end. As unlike Jose, Jurgen lost both finals in, I'm told, a "predictably laughable fashion".

I'm not sure who you are directing that to, mate, as the Liverpool fans seem to have collectively gone missing for the last twenty four hours or so.

Not one single person at Liverpool would rather have Mourinho than Klopp. You really, really can't say the same about your fanbase. But knowing you, I'm sure you will try.

Edit: Sorry for the sly dig I forgot that you're not Christian Slater again. We've been over this.

Scraping into the CL by staggering drunkenly over the line in a poor Europa League and they get all Billy big bollocks. Go and spend 600 mill in the window on Griezmann and some other name and you may then move on and get fourth next year. Wish you well.

Fortunately for us Salts, we only need to go back a couple of pages to know what they really thought before Mourinho proved his genius through beating Genk, Celta Vigo and Ajax. Do it, it's good fun. I recommend starting at page 19.

Never mind that mate, it's just the Liverpool fans returning.
I tried to find a gif that reflected Saltire's salty tears but alas I'm a moron when it comes to these matters. I will strive to be better.

He's still a boring, miserable c**t and his shite, insipid style has made United a chore to watch.

Spend another £300m and you might make top 4 next season.

Sorry Mr. CC I couldn't help myself.

I don't think he is boring, I do think he is miserable and if our football is a chore to watch you can always not watch us next season! We don't have that luxury.

I also reckon we will spend big in the summer - approaching £200m or so and I don't think we will finish outside the top four.

Then again I predicted us to finish inside the top four this season.

Definitely worth remembering that this expensively assembled side scored fewer goals than BOURNEMOUTH in their failed attempt to hit the 70 points mark.

They were bloody lucky they didn't come up against a team of Sevilla's quality in the European LOSERS LOTTERY too.

A team that couldn't even beat Leicester over two legs? They wouldn't have been any trouble for Jose's European Heroes.
