currently beating Newcastle 1-0 with a goal from Mark Cullen

Strange game, started slow and Newcastle caused us a few problems then we’ve gradually battered them missing 3 good chances and got the goal then nearly let them back in with a 1 on 1.

Cullen is a goal machine... if only he was fit and suited to our system. He’s scored 3 already I think but only played probably 200-300 minutes!

Crowd of 5,104 at Colchester, with 2,781 Ipswich fans. Given Ipswich sold out I wouldn't be surprised if they also made up a chunk of the home support, but a disappointingly reasonable attendance.

Wow! Browne shoots hits the bar and drops literally two foot over the line and not given!

Why on earth have they taken so many?

To qualify for league tickets (internal point/ticketing system)?

Most of them probably live in Colchester. I don't think they realised how insignificant this trophy is either.

Even Ed Sheeran has turned up ffs.

Walsall win 6-0 and Newport 7-4 up with 3 mins to go. That's 17 goals in only two games.

I just love the checkalease trophy!

2-1 win (should of been 3-1!) 11 changes and some of the lads out on loan we got a look at. 10k In the bank will do nicely. Won our last eight group games now in a row...

571 must be about a low record.

Not that it matters whatsoever in this tarnished competition, but it’s yet another entry into Steven Pressley’s catalog of embarrassing shameful results as Carlisle manager.

224 Cambridge weirdos in a crowd 3,425 total weirdos. About half what I was expecting for the away attendance which is good I suppose, still, freaks. The high number of scummers is obviously not surprising as they demonstrated their stupidity when they bought 1200 for their cup final at our gaff a couple of years ago in this shitshow of a competition. That and because someone else borrowed the brain cell tonight.

We're out without a win which is nice, see you all for another year of shambles next season.

7-4 to Newport, crazy, I don’t expect that scoreline has happened too often.

Bit of an odd side to the game tonight was Agent Jones fresh from being outed at the lardies was at Vale Park tonight, possibly a guest of honour for the sterling work he put in during the past few months down the A500. Should of paraded him on the pitch at half time or something.

Only 485 at Burton vs Mansfield, but at least half of them were from Mansfield.

Nice to see both Gloucs clubs doing our little bit to help make this competition look like the joke that it is.

Good to see sides taking it seriously with some FIFA 20 scores there. 7-4, 6-0.

I look forward to how the EFL spin yet more falling attendances and joke results into a positive by pointing at the Ipswich crowd and saying interest is up.

Funnily enough I always remember as a kid a game in the top flight finishing 7-4, i think it was Watford v Oxford or it might have been Luton but I’m 99% sure that it was 7-4 as I remember feeling really sorry for the team on the end of it. I think I was 6 or 7 at the time which would put it somewhere around 85/86 or 86/87 at a guess.

Edit: found it it was 1988 and it was Luton v Oxford, I did find another Watford one though:

Portsmouth v Reading as well.

Last night was basically confirmation that our number 2 keeper will never become our number 1.

Those goal times can't be accurate surely? (or does it mean 45 minutes are goals in the first half and 90 minutes are goals in the second?)

Think there was a 6-6 in the Scottish Prem as well a few years back?

The defending in that Cheltenham v Newport game was wonderfully shit. Like how the Robins keeper looked so annoyed after every goal, even the 7th. Surely after the 4th or 5th went in you'd realise no one cared and stop giving a fuck.
