I know, I know - it's only Monday. Just a bit giddy at our recent turnaround in form (though in typical Latics style I am sure it will come crashing down again very soon...).

After the weekend's mauling of Bury, we have another playoff-chasing battle with Exeter. Contrasting form though, it seems...

Latics (last 6)

Oldham 4-2 Bury
Crewe 0-2 Oldham
Oldham 1-1 Lincoln
Tranmere 1-1 Oldham
Oldham 3-1 Cambridge
Notts County 0-0 Oldham

Exeter (last 6)

Exeter 1-0 Crewe
Bury 2-0 Exeter
Exeter 0-1 Macclesfield
Colchester 1-1 Exeter
Exeter 2-2 Northampton
Tranmere 2-0 Exeter

I think Peter Clarke is suspended for this one so that's a massive loss for us as he's really ramped up his performances after a shaky start which had us all thinking he was finished. If Dummigan is back I would go with...

Iversen

Dummigan - Hamer - Edmundson - Hunt

Lang - Missilou - Maouche - Nepomuceno

Surridge - O'Grady

Latics 2-1 Exeter

According to Soccerbase Clarkey has only had 4 yellow cards all season and one of those was in Checkatrade so I think he will be able to play.

Exeter managed a win last weekend and by all accounts have been playing better than their results have shown. Still expecting a battle this weekend and would be delighted if we manage a win.

Our form has been good for a while and we haven't got all the points that we possibly should have.

Going for a 1-1, but we might sneak it!

I’m going to miss this one But by all accounts Exeter although only winning 1 recently haven’t played that bad and are still in the playoffs so I think a close game but I’m hoping our recent good form. Will continue so 2-1 to the tics for me

Clarke isn't suspended, the cut off was 19 league games. Missilou got his fifth yellow against Lincoln and wasn't suspended.

We are back to early season form and have found a formation that suits us better. I'm sure we will find it tough on Saturday but I'll plump for a 1-1 with Stockley scoring for the first time in a while.

I’m now much more optimistic after Saturday’s win. Taylor has changed the system the last couple of games to a 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 which suits us better than 4-4-2. We created a decent amount of chances on Saturday so hoping we can do the same at Boundary Park. Defensively we have to be wary of Oldham’s front line as O’Grady is experienced and must be confident after his hat trick plus Surridge is a good player who can score plenty.

I suspect many City fans would take a draw but I am going to be more optimistic and say we may just nick this 2-1. Stockley and Lee Martin on the scoresheet.

Highly unlikely latics can produce the performance against bury consistently so I wouldn't predict anything stupid, but we have to look at doing the same things because bury simply couldn't cope.
No question it has to be the same team. Ogrady and surridge complement each other magnificently and it's no surprise ogradys worst period of the season came when surridge was injured.

We are heading in the right direction and stumbling upon this second string midfield might just prove the luck we needed

2-1 tics

Bunn is clearly thrilled with how we are playing but at the same time playing it down for obvious reasons.

This is a biggy for me. One goal for Xmas is to break the top 7. I'll be happy if we hit new year in the play offs and this will set us up nicely

Gevaro Nepomuceno is the one to watch. He's your classic mercurial winger, in great form at the moment, very difficult to deal with and putting great crosses in.

I've just recalled there was a rumour years ago about us getting a dynamite foreign left winger with a great cross. The mystery man was christened Jarko Sweetleftfootovic. All this time later, we finally got him!! :D

I had a feeling he'd be a key man this season though, after getting used to English football. He's played first-tier football with one of Portugal's top clubs in Maritimo, and a Europa League campaign in Romania, so he has the track record.

We had the first half hr but Exeter crept back into it later in the half. Stockley is a diving bastard though.
We probably edged that half, especially the first 20 and should be winning really

Listening to the commentary it sounds like we were massively under the cosh for the first 30 minutes. God knows what we will do when we lose Stockley...

I’d be delighted with a point here.

Poor from us second half. Never at the races. Poor subs and the weather effected us more than them seemingly.

Got to say though we were denied the most blatant penalty I've ever seen

Stockley you legend!! Such a great second half to listen to. Ok so we rode our luck at times and the shout for the penalty sounded pivotal where we have gotten a slice of luck but to score 3 goals away against a form team is impressive and we’re back on track now.

We should have been 3-0 down by half time. Going in at 1-1 was a miracle to be honest. Second half we looked like a different team, one of the best come backs I've ever seen from city. Stockley is an absolute menace in the box.

Motm for us yesterday and scored some belters. I'd like to see him as a striker rather than out wide when ogrady or surridge is out but all in all he is better than league 2

I didn't go (wish I had, but it was tricky with commitments) but reading the comments on here and Exeweb, and the match report it would appear that Nicky Law had another superb game, and Lee Holmes was obviously responsible to two of the crosses for Jayden's goals.
So, anyone any idea why both only got a 7 in the S*n player ratings today?
The good thing is, even if we lose Jayden, we still have some excellent players and hopefully can add to that in he transfer window

It was the only paper in the coffee shop. It does make me wonder where they get these from though. I can't believe every national newspaper has a reporter at every league two game. So do they just think 'oh he scored a hat trick, he's worth a 9'..

Truly great result for us, we needed that, big time. Stockley is lethal in this league. Sounded like we rode our luck in the first half and Oldham had chances and a decent pen shout but didn't put us to the sword. If only we could find our second half form in the first half as well, loads of games been like that lately. Buzzing for Yeovil
