IMO, it is a testament to how shit this league is that we are still in with an outside shot at the playoffs. I don't think we'll manage it, but it's a possibility for sure.

Last 3

Latics 2-0 Grimsby
Latics 2-0 Tranmere
Colchester 0-2 Latics

Bury 1-3 Swindon
Swindon 1-1 Yeovil
Newport 0-0 Swindon

Wild seems to have helped us find some form which we felt was long gone for this season once our clown of an owner decided to meddle in team affairs again. Swindon's form looks inconsistent. Capable of shite results (Stevenage, Port Vale & Yeovil) and then good wins (Bury & Morecambe).

Baxter back from suspension but only a spot on the bench for me. You can't be changing a team that's won 3 on the bounce with 3 clean sheets.

Iversen

Hamer - Clarke - Edmundson - Iacovitti

Branger - Missilou - Maouche - Nepomuceno

O'Grady - Lang
Must win for either side if they are to make the playoffs, and I reckon it'll be a draw.

1-1 (Lang)

We are generally better away from home and have some good pace in the side, so if your defence is on the slower side we could look to take advantage.

I went to the home game earlier in the season and it was one of the most boring matches I can remember.

I suspect Saturday's game will be more entertaining. I think a 1-1 draw sounds about right (Doughty pen)

We don’t often win 4 on the bounce so 1-1 the probable outcome what are Swindon fans thoughts on wellens I was never overly impressed with him as our manager always comes across as a cocky all about me type

Initial impressions are good. Neither Flitcroft or Brown won over the fans and Wellens has come in, generally has said the right things, and looked to improve the football we play.

He has inherited a team of players that he has managed to shape into a reasonable league 2 side. He'll be judged properly next season of course, but so far so good. I don't think he comes across as cocky, but I think he is quite confident in what he wants to do.

Wellens has it in him to be a good manager, just bottled his first job when the going got tough. We played some exceptional football at times under him.
Circumstances off the pitch wasn't ideal either.

As for the weekend a draw would probably suit Swindon more so than us, but I'd still imagine both teams will go for the win.

Impossible to change that line Up at the moment, and as you say Baxter on the bench.

I'm liking lacovitti, he looks like he has a footballing brain, with all the attributes to play centre half as well. A massive reason why we have kept 3 clean sheets imo, along with the rest of the back line who are looking solid.

I'm gunna go with another latics win, but it'll be a more nervy affair, 1-0

We tend to create loads of chances, or at least good positions, but have difficulty turning them into goals. Absolutely no chance we’ll be looking for a draw - win or bust.

As it is for both teams, I reckon.

Wellens has impressed in his time here. The first decent manager Power has employed. Play some good stuff, stands no nonsense from the players and has a good affinity with the fans.

I think the POs are a step too far for both teams this season, but I’d expect both to be challenging at the top next.

Think that’s it for both of us as far as playoffs go gotta say Doughty was best player on pitch apart from the two reckless challenges 2 nd ones definitely a yellow so he should of walked for two yellows but Swindon one of the best sides that’s been to BP this season they bossed first half and we prob just shaded 2 nd half shaw a draw was prob right result

Don't think you can really say Swindon bossed the first half. Thought we sat very deep defending a 1-0 lead rather than being out played.

Would like to see the pen again, I thought it was a bit soft but I was at the other end of the ground so am probably wrong.

Swindon were a good side, but we did ok as well, both should be up there next year with a decent summer behind them

I agree holdum both teams should be up there next season from where I was sat it looked a nailed on penalty I would of been so pissed off if it had been one of our players brought down like that and nothing given so I’ve no complaints

Doughty is class at this level, but he does have that side of him where the red mist seems to affect him and he can go in with nasty challenges (he's a really nice guy off it as well). We have to be disappointed with both goals, especially the second which was a frankly pathetic bit of defending.

In general I have to be happy with a point at Oldham but that doesn't really help either team. As other latics have said, I think we'll both be there or there abouts next season in League 2.

I’d love to believe it but I just don’t see that happening with our current owner situation. ST sales will be down as people boycott and other clubs won’t fancy doing business with our shyster in charge. I’d be shocked if we put out an improved team next year sadly.

I'd happily take the same team into next season. It's not perfect, yes it can be improved in areas, but with consistency at management level it has shown it can perform.

I'd give it to wild permanently tbh in the current climate, he is the only one who has shown he can perform under the shackles AL is forcing on his management

Likewise here. 4 or 5 new faces to freshen things up. We play some good stuff but with little end result and still look vulnerable to the hoof merchants.

Our back 4 is very young so hopefully this season will benefit them and as every club in the country, we need someone to find the net on a regular basis.

Those clubs coming down don’t look up to much so next season looks a good opportunity for those knocking around the top half to give it a right go.
