Looks like our game with Northampton will be discussed on here. We have looked toothless in the last 2 games and really missing Doughty who sounds like he has a fairly serious hip injury which is a big worry.

Cobblers have bitten the bullet early and Curle will probably come to the CG with a defensive setup. This has 0-0 or a scrappy 1-0 win all over it. The fact Northampton have Andy Williams suggests he will net a late winner in a turgid game. In my eyes at least.

Crawley at home against Cambridge today.

Crawley have won and lost 3-1 in the last two games. Can we keep the momentum going? Doubt it.

Saying that, I'm as little shocked as to where Cambridge are in the league. I had them down as play off contenders not strugglers. What's gone on?

Our defence has been pulled apart a couple of times this season. Personally think our central defenders and full backs have had a falling out and don't want to stand near each other. Until it's sorted we will have games where we will ship goals with very little effort on the opposing teams part.

Stick me neck out. 2-1 to the Reds.

We have a few decent players and a lot of dross. No attempt was made in the summer to move the dross out or recruit new talent and the decent players we have (Halliday, Maris, Forde) are all playing well below their capabilities.

Our strategy this season seems to have been to tighten our belts (lost 2 key players, spent very little, appointed cheap option manager) and hover in mid-table whilst we sort the finances.

Unfortunately, due to loss of form of key players and cheap manager not seemingly able to prompt them to up their game, we're firmly in a relegation battle.

Or Richards, or Anderson, or Taylor or (especially please no) McCourt

Yep and it’s all quite depressing really, stripping all the fun out of going.

We really could do with a win today with MK, Lincoln and Swindon coming right up. Hell I'll even be happy with a point I guess.

We'll be 24th by the end of this month. Christ it's so depressing right now.

Any decent side would have battered us today so thankful we were playing Northampton.

Dreadful garbage from both sides. God knows what has happened to us.

Allegations of Kevin Ellison making racist comments.. causing a 22 man brawl. Curious to see what happens in any inquest. No doubt find a way to give Norwood a ban.

Cambridge played us off the park for sixty minutes. It goes like this when you're at the bottom.

Tale of two keepers. Our keeper made four or five really good saves (making up for the free kick v County) to keep us in the game. We score two daisy cutters in either corner.

The change in the game was Camara coming on for us. Raw, runs down blind alleys and fall over lots but he brings an energy to the forward midfield areas and just gets in the way. He replaced Randall who is not playing badly but he Payne and Morais are a very lightweight midfield trio and Camara just adds something. He gets the ball, turns and runs at the defenders, loses the ball, wins it back and tries to do something.

We've all been where Cambridge are now. It's frustrating but hang on in there your team ain't that bad.

Well that league table (temporarily) makes far better reading for Notts fans. The last 5 have been winnable on paper, but so do a lot of games in L2 and we didn’t manage it once until Clean Harry came along.

Shame next weekends game has been postponed now we have this positive momentum

Slocombe has hardly played (I think only our 1 Checkatrade game so far), but should get a run out in it again this evening but hasn't really featured so far. He was brought in as cover when Vickers was injured, with Smith going into the starting XI. Now Vickers is back, Smith is going out on loan so Slocombe will be second choice.

Mensah has been coming on as a sub and will also get a game in the Checkatrade. He was lacking fitness when he first arrived, but has improved each time he has played. Delivery apparently looks good. Will be interesting to see him get a full game tonight.

In terms of whether I think we want to sign them on permanent, I think Slocombe came in because we feared Vickers would be out for the season. Turned out it was just a few weeks, so i think he'll be coming back to you in January. Mensah is more likely as we don;t have lots of wide players, but still hasn't shown much in his admittedly limited game time.

Thanks fella.

Mensah is supposed to be up and coming as he was smashing it in the conference with Aldershot but never really got the game time with us. DC told us he’s one for the future...

I think it’s more we’re making use of scouting our opponents for next season - much cheaper than sending actual scouts

I'm very glad our game on Saturday has been postponed, we've still got several players out injured. It's now been confirmed that both Omar Sowumni and Diallang Jaiyesimi are out until the New Year because of the horrendous tackles on them by MK Dons players in a recent game. The fact neither got a red card is a disgrace.

More crap spouted by Darren Way to excuse last night's defeat.

DW Facts: "The stats don't lie. We have the youngest team in all four divisions"

Actual facts: We have the =5th youngest squad in L2.
